...a grey brushed metal, which SanDisk claim is more scratch resistant than other materials. So far I have one very small scratch on the back but the front is still devoid of scratches. The front also has four buttons around a scroll wheel (which is mechanical unlike the iPod's) and another inside the scroll wheel with one more in the bottom left corner as an on/off button. What I really like about this scroll wheel is that whenever you touch any button ... ...neon blue colour. Other than this there is a headphone jack at the top of the player and other buttons that I shall come to later. At first this does look like a rip off of Apple's iPod nano, particularly with the scroll wheel. However the differences in styling and functionality are noticeable when actually using the product.
NAVIGATION
The main way to navigate the various menus is via the scroll wheel on the front of the player. However if you ...

Advantages: Easy to use, cheap, looks good Disadvantages: unreliable, constantly crashing
I got the E280 for xmas 2007 so I've had a good 4 months to get used to it and I can say that it is a very good mp3 player. The interface is very easy to use and putting music on there is just a simple case of drag and drop, brilliant! It does get more confusing when you want to add films but after a few goes you'll get the hang of it. The video player is good, I do find the screen a bit small for movies but a good size for animations like Simpsons ... ...to fast forward a bit faster than 2x speed.
The main problem I find is that it is very tempremental. I often get it randomly crashing either when I am listening to music or when I am copying music to it and, even though I have unplugged it from my computer, it still says "writing" and may well stay like that for a long time. The longest I've left it is 30 mins without resetting it. I also find the lowest volume setting too loud. I know this sounds ...

Advantages: ease of use , good battery time Disadvantages: can only be charged on PC
Good quality MP3 player , large capacity - will take about 1500 MP3's. Generally easy to use, with good menu/navigation system. Solid build quality, not a cheap plastic player as you can get with some. Sound quality is more than acceptable with a range of equaliser options etc to play with. I have the version with the FM radio - this is OK if your not on the move , but if your travelling on a train or the like then it not a great radio , but when ... ...screen is good, very easy to read. Havent tried it for movies , but I think it would be too small to use for that, ( but you have the option to use it for movies MP4 etc!) it can also be used to store photos, and if you want to you can use it a very fancy memory stick .
A minor annoyance for me is the "random" play option isn't very randon it plays randomly in the same sequence. Plus points Good battery time - approx 20 hours .
Ease of use - works ...

Pros: Solid, easy to keep in hand, easy to use menu, good sound
Cons: Plasticky, sharp lines not so many features comparing to other players
First of all, I'd like to notice that I use my player for music listening mostly (no game playing or Internet access). Besides, I can't say that I have thousands of favorite songs. So basicly, when I had the question of buying a mp3 player my requirements to it were: not big size, big enough screen which is ... ...increased.
I've checked several brands and their prices. Finally I decided to buy mine at http://go.shopsansa.com/. Now I own it about a month. 1. Advantages
The player is rather small but the screen is big to see everything clearly. Moreover, the screen is durable, I have no scratches on it though i'm not so delicate. It's easy to hold in my big hand, a tiny thing will be not a good choice for me. The meny is comfortable to navigate, i had no ...

· The Sandisk 8gb is compatible with Windows Media 10, which is free to download from the internet and is really user friendly. · The battery life is pretty good too, after charging this to the max I found it worked for a good week and a half (roughly 18 hours use I'd say) before the battery icon looked low enough to need re-charging. The player also turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity - great if you're the forgetful ... ...may cause concern is the rotational wheel used for scrolling through data. It does feel a little flimsy at first, but I have to admit, I got over that pretty quick as you soon realise it doesn't impair the actual function. Also, the buttons around the wheel are a touch awkward at first as they are quite small. A possible problem if you have large fingers, but again, you get used to it quickly and I don't think this is enough to detract from the overall ...

Advantages: Size, 8GB memory, great menu system, EQ, Photo function, music sorting Disadvantages: Video quality, album art function is lacking
The Sansa e280 is a fantastic little MP3 player on first impressions. The player is stylish, and has a fantastic menu layout. However I must get the small amount of flaws out of the way first; the videos lack quality and are fuzzy, so if you want this especially for videos, maybe look at a Creative or an iPod. Also, album art is a bit tricky to add, which may be my computer's problem but I've seen other people online have a problem with it too.
... ...8GB of memory, a large music library can be added to it and taken around stylishly. Also, it has a nice photo function, and the photos look very high quality. All in all, it's a fantastic MP3 player in my opinion, just some niggling things that don't make it as fully accomplished as an iPod. But if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, go for this. You won't be disappointed. ...

Advantages: Different, Sleek, good sound, robust, colour, good menu. Disadvantages: Some freezing,
First of all, I'm sick of apple iPods. They're just samey. And I don't want to be the same as everyone else, thank you very much. And I'm sure you people don't want to be either. That's reason number one.
The Sansa e280 is a good alternative. With an 8Gb space (up to 10Gb with a memory stick, not tried that yet) it's bigger than the new nano, can take video and is cheaper too. Plus it looks cooler(in my opinion)And I find it easier to manage than ... ...it's a "drag and drop" affair.
When I first got it, people were saying "wow, you got an Ipod?"
"No, I have a sansa e280" *looking smug*
"wow, that's funky!" (I have simple freinds)
*Music*
The music function is what I bought it for, and it does the job well. Using it with Windows Media Player 11, I could sync all my music (about 1800 songs) simple and effectively. The sound quality is good, but my advice is to buy a some good headphones, as ...

Advantages: Good sound quality, Excellent price, Nice large colour screen Disadvantages: Video software doesn't work, Battery life nothing special, buttons slightly fiddly and small
An excellent product all round. It looks good with the exception of the scroll wheel which looks slightly cheap. The sound quality is excellent and comes with a customisable EQ to ge the sound just right. The menu system is good and complemented well by the I-pod style scroll wheel. Transfering music is very simple and it synchronises perfectly with the latest Windows Media Player or you can drag and drop songs onto it like a file storage device. ... ...the software provided for converting videos and transfering them to it simply did not work so if you are hoping to use this to watch videos think again. Overall however despite the lack of video functionality the player is definately worth getting considering its relatively ...

I had bought the SanDisk a few weeks ago and boy is this product a bang for your buck! It's sleek design is appealing to the eye and makes it extremely easy to carry with you.
