...I would tell you about sangenic bins.
Sangenic bins come in 2 different sizes one small one suitable for home use and a larger one suitable for school/nursery use.
Until recently we just used to put used pads into a large plastic bag similar to a bin bag which was used inside a plastic bin we would then put the bag after tying the top in our sanitary collection skip. This bag although we tried to be as hygienic as possible was not pleasant the ... ...with.
We purchased some sangenic bins to try and make our working life more pleasant.
They are much better we enclose each pad separately in the bag container and there is not so much smell emitting from the bin and the pads seem to take up a smaller space as they are compressed a little. So for a crèche/ nursery/ playgroup I would certainly recommend these bins.

Sangenic Nappy Wrapper
The Wrapper is a device designed to make the disposal of nappies easier and less smelly. It consists of a large plastic bin style object (with a lid) that contains a roll/cassette of scented plastic. The Scented plastic wraps you nappies when you place them in the wrapper. It is ideal for keeping all dirty nappies together in one place until you are ready to empty it.
The wrappers are available from lots of stores now lsuch ... ...sizes, small and large and cost approx £38 and £50.
Advantages-
It is much easier to put a dirty nappy inside the wrapper than try and use a small nappy sack
It is an alternative to using the kitchen bin if it is not always possible to use the outside bin.
It does keep a lid on nasty odours
Disadvantges-
I think it is a bit overpriced and a bit uneccesary if you only have one child, perhaps more useful if you have lots of children.

I seen this on offer at Mothercare and thought to myself "what a great idea it would save the bother on trying to open nappy sacks "
So I then went and bought it for £14.99 along with a pack of 3 replacement cassettes (the film for sealing the nappies) at £9.99 and off home I go.
(oh its yellow with a greenny coloured lid )

Assembly is straight forward simply clip the lid on the base and secure it using the ... ...amount of the film out of the cassette and insert the blue plastic ring inside the film (don't trap the film) tie a knot in the film.
Place cassette into the bin and push into place then push film through the center of the cassette

...rush out and buy a Sangenic Nappy Wrapper system, they are available from Tesco, Asda, Mothercare, Boots and boots.com, not to mention a few other places. When I first wrote this review the price was around £29.99, although you could use your Boots Advantage Card points instead which was what I did. Boots also had an offer where they gave away 1,000 Advantage Card points for every £30.00 spent on baby products (offers like this are frequently repeated) ... ...at £14.99, so I guess Sangenic felt they had to compete. This doesn't make this review any less valid, however, so if you are considering buying one then please read on!

Advantages: compact and easy to use - contains the mess! Disadvantages: after time does have a funny smell and does need emptied fairly frequently.
I never even realised these things existed until my Gran pointed it out in Mothercare when we were yet again shopping for more baby items. We were still in the preparation stage, spending our way through my carefully thought out list. This was not on the list and when my gran offered to buy it for us I told her not to be silly, it was just one of those rip of items that you didn't really need. However, my partner ( who has an uncanny phobia to nappies ... ...of getting one so I eventually relented and we bought it. It was half price so I didn't begrudge it THAT much.
As it turns out it is one of the best buys we made. You can have it at your changing area so as soon as you have used a wipe you can shovel it in and the smelly nappy goes straight in aswell, push it down (it then is 'gripped' by some plastic fingers), twirl the top and nappy is neatly contained in a bag, in the bin. Advantages: No smell here Disadvantages: Loose prongs and liner ends without warning
I use the 28-30 nappy sized bin. Basically you pop used nappies through the window in the top, twist the inner lid and the nappy is held inside a special liner. When you empty the bin you find a long line of nappies wrapped in the liner that resembles a link of sausages.
I'm glad I didn't opt for the next size up, as this smaller one is quite a weight to lug around when you empty it out.
I think its a great system with only a couple of drawbacks. ... ...the nappy sack are very liable to come away when you empty the bin - and recovering them (if you notice) involves hunting through bin bag full of soiled nappies. This is a very bad thing.
Once you have bought the bin the on-going costs are the rolls of liners you slot in. These are very reasonably priced, around £3. Each time you empty the bin, you use the internal cutter and seperate the liner from the continuing roll. This cutter does take a bit ...

...After reading up on the Sangenic Nappy wrapper I decided that it would be worth it and was even more impressed when I found it for £14.99 at my local tescos. It even had a refil in the box and these retail at approximatley £3.49. I put it in my baby cupboard and forgot about it until two weeks before my due date which was 26th October (as it happens I went nine days over). I opened the box and read the instructions, then I read them again. Finally ... ...what I had to do.
Even though the instructions seemed a bit daunting and complicated as soon as I had fitted the refil once then I never needed to consult the instructions again and it became second nature to whip the old one out and replace it with a new one.
The sanagenic nappy wrapper is very useful as it helps you save time when changing nappies and if the nappy wrapper is in the same room that you change your baby then you don't have to leave ...

Advantages: Can't think of any Disadvantages: It smells, the cartridges are expensiveand its pricey
When I was expecting my daughter like most mothers I thought that I needed everything and bought lots of useless things, this was one of them. Basically it's a lemon coloured bin which you place used nappies in and it covers them individually with an antibacterial film. It is then supposed to store the nappies for approx one - two weeks without any odour and then you empty it into a dustbin and it therefore saves you the hassle of having to go out ... ...opinion it does smell and although it will hold two weeks of nappies when your child is tiny, as they grow it holds less and less and apart from the initial outlay of £30 you then have to keep buying the cartridges at £3.29 each at least every 3 weeks. In my opinion this is just a glorified bin and the thought of all those nappies festering just makes me want to heave. I am so glad that I was recommended one of these when I was pregnant! I remember years ago, visiting houses with babies, there used to be an awful smell... dirty nappies but thanks to this little bin I don't need to worry when people come to visit me!
It's just like a normal bin but designed to dispose of soiled nappies and totally removes all the smells! All it really is, is a bin where at the top is a section where you store the cassette. You tie the initial plastic with a knot at the open end and then when you have a dirty nappy, you just place it on the plastic and push it towards the bottom of the bin until you can feel it go throught the catch at the bottom of this section. Loved this product at first, now it annoys the hell out of me, it does stink everytime you open it, i have cleaned it with disenfectant many times it smells fine for about a week then bad again. The most annoying feature of the nappy wrapper is the prongs none of mine stay in place im forever trying to gentle put the lid back on after emptying only to find the first nappy in makes them all drop out again, rendering the nappy wrapper useless. I received mine as a gift "not another fandangled baby contraption" I said to my boyfriend whilst slinging it in the cupboard with all the other junk we'd been given. The very next week they rang to say they were popping over for a visit and asked me how we like the present... "great" I lied having never touched it!!
I quickly got it out of the cupboard, assembled it and read the instructions before they arrived. of course they wanted to see it ... ...is the best invention in all of babyland - so much so I have gone and brought a second one for downstairs.
Basically, you take one stinky nappy, shove it quickly in the lined hole at the top of the bin, down through some plastic fingery type things, twist the bag twice, and hey presto you have concealed the offending nappy. When emptying the bin the wrapped nappy's resemble a string of sausages but you don't get your hands dirty disposing of them.

This product is a godsend, there is no need to have endless nappy sacks hanging around, all I do is put the nappy into the top, twist and the room stays smelling fresh. When the nappy wrapper is full its easy to empty and easy to prepare for the next lot of nappies. All you have to do when it is full is twist the centre part at the top of the wrapper, this cuts the wrapping inside then all you do is unclip the lid and empty it out. When preparing ... ...length of the nappy wrapping from the refill, tie it at the end, push it down towards the bottom and it is ready again.
The version of the Nappy Wrapper I have holds up to 28 nappies but they have brought out a bigger one which holds, I think, up to 60. Refills for the Nappy Wrapper cost about £3.50 but they are well worth it as they last for ages. This product was highly recommended to me by a good friend and I would do the same for anyone else. ...
