    BEWARE!!! This company is a shambles. I Would never buy a product from them again. I purchased a Performa 5573N (Customised) on 11/07/2006 using the online ordering facility at savastore.com. In January 2007 I began to experience major problems with the system. It regularly froze, would not shut down properly and on occasion would not load. I had previously experienced similar problems before but this happened very rarely and did not cause me any concern. In January I made a number of calls to the technical support line. MISTAKE!     On Monday I placed an order with Savastore for an Acer 5633WLMI notebook at 492 ex VAT + £ 4.65 + £ 13.99 delivery - then I decided to cancel as I saw a model with the Geforce Go 7300 for 557 ex VAT. So I phoned them and after 20mins or so got through to a lady who said my order had already been cancelled as the address was not authorised (then I remembered I hadn't changed my credit card address to reflect my new address).     Added some extra info: I have used Savastore several times and been very impressed by the prices and speed of delivery - all items I have bought before 16:00 have arrived next working day. The website is about average for this type of company and is fairly easy to navigate. In fact the layout is virtually identical to other similar websites with: Tabs across the top for different categories - like Computers, hardware, components, networking etc A browse section down the left side for just about every category of item.     Advantages Advantages Cheap, but who wants cheap, use the internet to find similar prices from reputable merchants.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages They have an excuse for the consistent poor service they are expanding, well thats ok then.

    Without prejudice the following account is the unfortunate purchase attempt made with savastore in July 2006, this is to assist others in reaching an informed decison on where to purchase. I have worked in corporate sales and customer services for over 8 years. Like many people when it comes to purchasing I want to find good deals and the net is perfect for this. However, Savastore are to be avoided read a few websites, add savastore to google and note the consistent views are biased only one way.     I was browsing the site when I noticed that someone had given savastore a good score for service. However I recently bought a Philips CD writer from them and was not particularly impressed with the service. I ordered it on a Sunday expecting it to be despatched on Monday or at least by Tuesday - I was wrong. The product did not arrive until Monday a week later and it was not the courier's fault (CityLink). It was savastore's as I checked and the product was not picked until Friday even though they claimed that it was in stock and claimed that it would take 2-3 days to deliver. You may think ... more

    While Savastore offers a large range of products at competitive prices, in my experience if you ever need to use their Customer Services department you will regret going anywhere near them. I ordered a DVD player which arrived faulty and spent the following 6 weeks trying to get a replacement or refund. However, this proved a completely fruitless exercise due to the following : 1) Any feedback I submitted via the website was not responded to. 2) All emails I sent directly to the Customer Services department, including the Customer Services manager were ignored (even though I got a read receipt ... more

    In August 2006 I purchased a "specify yourself" PC for my son who was going to University. Normally I buy the cheapest current version as PCs very quickly become obsolete. This time my son wanted a special build with lots of disk space and a very good graphics card. He was going to study multimedia. I specified the PC online.     After a motherboard failure on one machine and a power surge destroyed the motherboard of another household computer, I was left two computers short and quickly needed two new computers that are essential for our family business.
