Scalextric My First Scalextric Set

Birthday time and what do you buy a 5 year old who already has everything? Well I spotted this and of course hubby did not need much convincing as he loves Scalextric! ~~THE BOX~~ The scalextric comes in a nice big yellow box with bright pictures on the front and a big picture showing the two cars which you get and a carton boy playing with them. With me being the mother of the only grandson on either sides of the family, all of the men have been waiting until my son Connor is of age ………… for the scalextric!!! It was his third birthday at the beginning of January, so with it being so close to Christmas was at a bit of a loss as what to purchase for him. I had seen "my first scalextric" advertised previously, but had not took much notice, thinking Con was a little too young for it. My First Scalextric Set Having seen the Ad on TV and Boy really desparate for one I thought this the best to go for in the way of remote control race track as at 4 he's really not old enough for a big expensive set so he got this for Christmas. Cost us £30 from Toys'r'Us though can be found in many other stores and on-line, the price is about the same everywhere but you may find it a bit cheaper. Age on box states not suitable for under 3 years, due to small parts and functional sharp edges - we haven't found any particularly sharp bits yet ? so unsure which bits that refers to. Ah, Scalextric. The memories. Cars nipping round the track, racing at full throttle. The overtaking, the excitement waiting to see who would emerge first from the tunnel. I must say, when my sons first opened their My First Scalextric received for Christmas, I was delighted. Good present Grandpa. The track was simple to put together and the instructions easy to follow. The boys played happily for a while and then the problems started.
