Advantages Advantages Great smell, long lasting colour, great price

Disadvantages Disadvantages The amount of conditioner supplied, the blonde colour

I have dyed my hair since May 09 and I wanted to have a colour that was different to the common browns and blonde shades. I had my hair dyed with the Garnier Nutrisse colour in the deep burgundy shade but it didn't last long as parts of my hair had gone back to natural colour after a month and some parts had gone a faded red colour. So at the beginning of July I went looking for a new colour, and a new brand that hopefully would do a better job on my hair. I eyed up the Live collection in my local supermarket and I was instantly pleased by the different colours they had available. I was ... more

Advantages Advantages long lasting colour, great for bleaching your hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages some colours I have used don't always match the box

You can find the Live hair dyes in pretty much any beauty high street shop in store and online. You can find these in Boots, super drug, savers, body care, wilkos and you can sometimes find these in corner shops and supermarkets. The price will vary depending where you buy it from but their rough price is around £5. *Savers - £4.79 *Boots - currently have an offer of £4 each or £7.50 for two *bodycare - £4.52 *Superdrug - £4.89 The thing I have noticed is that different shops stock different shades to each other. Shops such as bodycare and super drug don't stock big selections just the basic ... more

Advantages Advantages great colour, easy to apply

Disadvantages Disadvantages hard to get out of your hair to change colour

When it comes to hair dye I like to get mine done in the salon and never use permanent hair dyes, this is all because of a really annoying and expensive experience I had with Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL hair dyes, in particular the Bitter Sweet Choc shade. Application Applying this dye was really easy, I did mine by myself and found it really easy to get a good results, you are provided with everything you need to make your transformation in the box, this includes: The Instructions Gloves Tube of Colour Bottle of Developer Tube of Live Colour Conditioner (for after care) The instructions are ... more

    Advantages Advantages vibrant lasting colour

Disadvantages Disadvantages skin staining around the hairline

Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL This range of permanant hair colour is by far my personal favourite. I've been colouring my hair for some time now and tend to go from blond to brown to red and back to brown again, so I've tried most brands of hair dye and this is the only one that delivers a wow factor! Their range doesn't contain as many shades as the other leading brands but this doesn't have to be viewed as a disadvantage because often lots of different shades can cause confusion when trying to choose what to go for. The box has a bright blue background with models on the front advertising that ... more

Advantages Advantages Blends well, cheap, easy to wash off skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be itchy, quite watery

I've been dying my hair since I was 11 and my favourite brand of black hair dye was Superdrugs own, unfortunately they decided to change their dye recently and it now doesn't last as long :( So I remembered that when I used to dye my hair red, Live was really good! So off I went into Superdrug when my roots became too bad to ignore, and instead of the Superdrug dye, I picked up a box of Live XXL instead! It was on offer for £3.69 rather than the usual £4.69. The packaging - The box it was in was very eyecatching so it was definately easy to find, as usual it had the hot guy and girl on the ... more

Advantages Advantages Price, Ending colour, Long lasting,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Gloves aren't very good quality, a bit drippy

I bought Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL in 'Red Passion' (043 I think) for £3.49 on deal at Wilkinsons about two weeks ago, as I had been hoping to dye my hair red for quite a while and had never gotten round to doing it. So I bought the dye, and a few days later I sat down on my chair and had my mum put it through my hair - I didn't want to miss any bits! BEFORE: My hair colour beforehand was a mousey dark blonde/light brown that was quite dull. I hadn't previously used permanent dyes because my mum was completely against it but I managed to persuade her! It was in fairly good condition (not dry ... more

Advantages Advantages great color and price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

I am naturally blonde, but also get bored easily with my hair. I'm either cutting it or highlighting it, and as the winter drew closer, I decided that I wanted a change and though Red was the way forward. I am quite new to dying my own hair and usually go to the hairdressers for hightlights. It has been many years since I had a full head colourant, eeekkk. I went to my local Superdrug, and found these Schwarzkopf foams. They were on offer at £3.99 and I have always found the Live XXL colours very striking, so thought I would give it a go. I bought Dark cherry Bliss, number 388 for the deepness ... more

Advantages Advantages Fab choice of colours, cheap.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

Advantages: Great colours, cheap, widely available. Disadvantages: None in my opinion. Fancy having the same colour hair as Cheryl Cole!!! She's such a copy cat! I decided to dye my naturally blonde, dyed brown hair red a while ago. I bought a red hair dye in Home Bargains and noticed when I got home that I had stupidly bought a semi-permanant dye! Grrr! I still used it though and it did give a subtle red sheen through my (dyed) brown hair. I knew I needed something more permanant for the colour to show more though so popped up to Asda and threw a box of Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL in Cool ... more

Advantages Advantages Vibrant colours, cheap, easy to maintain

Disadvantages Disadvantages Messy, sometimes inconsistent results

I’ve been colouring my hair with Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL in ‘real red’ for about the past 2 years. Red is a notoriously hard colour to maintain and the cheapness of this product- ranging from £3-£5- is convenient enough to do so. I have naturally very dark brown hair and the first time I used this product it took the colour on quite nicely which after a few more applications over the years as intensified. Packaging & What You Get For your £3-£5 you get the usual bottle of developer with twisty lid, a tube of crème dye in your choice (important to check) and a small bottle of colour locking ... more

    Advantages Advantages price

Disadvantages Disadvantages result and general pain caused

Yesterday I went to Superdrug and I saw that they had a promotion on the Schwarzkopf LIVE Color XXL range. Usually you would get one pack for about £4.70 but at the moment you get it at a discounted £3.70. Either price I consider sitting at the cheaper end of the price spectrum of permanent hair colorants. From the package you can tell, that it is aimed at a younger consumer (with young models displayed on the pack and the "Warning" that LIVE makes you irresistable). It has rather outrageous colours on offer, ranging from violet over pink to blue. Spontaneously I decided to purchase the ... more
