Advantages Advantages Excellent quality, home delivery, wide product range, online shopping

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, delivery can take up to 28 days, dangerous for shopoholics

We all owe our mothers a great deal: they carry us for nine months, give birth to us and nurture us until we are old enough to fend for ourselves. Then one day, when we have left home, they ring us up and introduce us to the wonderful world of catalogue gift shopping. ♣♣♣♣♣♣;♣♣♣♣♣♣9827;♣♣♣♣♣ϖ7;♣♣♣♣♣♣& #9827;♣♣♣♣♣b27;♣♣♣♣♣♣ ♣♣♣♣ ♣♣;♣Who are ... more

    Advantages Advantages Reasonably prompt delivery

Disadvantages Disadvantages Thoroughly rotten, overpriced product; nothing like the catalogue image; returns policy appalling

My mother found some attractive "silk" flowers in the Scotts catalogue and her partner ordered them for her. At £99, they ought to have looked rather lovely. As soon as she opened the package, it was clear that she had been ripped off - they looked like they were cheaper than £9. You cannot return items without getting a returns number by telephone. The telephone number is an 0871 number which costs 10p per minute. It is impossible to spend less than 3 minutes on the number and, if like Mum you are "held in a queue" you end up donating a couple of pounds to them before you've even paid the ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Absolutely everything!!!

I ordered a pair of SLUMBERDOWN Pocket Sprung Pillows on 14/11/09. Having used this co. and it's sister companies previously, I knew they weren't the quickest at delivering, but this seemed like an excellent price so I went for it. I allowed the 28 days stated on the website before contacting their custormer services by email (at least I didn't get caught out by the telephone charges!) and was informed that the supplier had guaranteed all orders would be fulfilled by Christmas (I naturally assumed they meant Christmas 2009 - silly me!!). On 28 December, with still no sign of the pillows I ... more

Advantages Advantages I can't get hold of the product, so I have no idea if it's any good.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow or non-existent delivery and poor customer service

Scotts charge a delivery fee, saying that they normally dliever within 10 days. They also say elsewhere in the T&C that it may take up to 28 days to deliver. Our daughter ordered a small item for a birtrhday present for my husband. She placed the order 2 weeks before his birthday. When she called to check on progess, they told her it wasn't dispatched yet but she could have next-day delivery if she paid another £5, which she refused to do, having paid £4.95 already. Almost 4 weeks after ordering she called again, only to be told that they were out of stock and th item might be in by next week ... more

Advantages Advantages None whatsoever. Awful company, AVOID.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Everything! Dreadful service, lolusy products and how dare they charge for so-called service!

I don't know where to start with these people, but I wish I'd never ordered from them. I ordered something on line, 2nd September, from Renwoods, which is one of their trading names. They charged the card straight off, delivered the wrong item two weeks later. I phoned. They delivered the wrong thing again. I phoned. They promised the right thing. I phoned.... and so it goes on. And on and on. I still don't have my widget. The latest call was on the 12th October and they promised faithfully they'd call back straight away. Did they heck. And, to cap it all, their so-called customer service line ... more

Terrible service, calls to customer service line cost a fortune. Ordered product at one price and they have since charged me more only for customer service to tell me that that's normal because they charge you the price at the time of payment not when it's ordered and it can take up to 28 days for them to get items in stock! Total joke of a company, my order came to £13 and i've spent over that on phone calls to their premium rate csutomer service number - double the profits for them I guess! Would not use these clowns again!

made an order for wine together with specific label names. Payment made on order. invoice recieved, and found that labels wer not as requested. Asked to correct and correction accepted. When eventually delivered, label not as ordered. Following several e-mails all have gone unanswered. Almost impossible to get through by phone and when you do you pay premium ratyes. A visit to the showrooms in Stowe appeared that I was an added amusement for the staff and was just fobbed off with all sorts of excuses but no apology, Have a unique product but would not recommend their service to anyone.

Advantages Advantages Nice product pictures - but they don't arrive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Customer "service" line never answered and costs a fortune

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE -- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I ordered a bedspread in November which was promised for Christmas. It didn't arrive in spite of a mail on Christmas Eve saying it would. Calls to the Customer Service line cost a fortune and are never answered. I have spent more money hanging on the line listening to their bloody music than the original item cost. Order line person told me that they were instructed to say that items ordered before 10th December would arrive in time for Christmas -- regardless of the stock situation. Trading Standards have confirmed that this is illegal ... more

I will avoid dealing with this company and its offshoots in future. Items paid for with order have not been delivered 2 months later and repeated calls to their laughingly termed customers services on an 0871 number have resulted in lies and evasion. Have just had a letter saying that their supplier will be out of stock for a further month, I am contemplating legal action. They appear to bolster their profits by charging you to ring their service line and then lie to you.

Advantages Advantages Some interesting product design

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very poor quality products and appalling customer service

Expert Verdict is part of Scotts of Stow. This is an appalling supplier. They take orders for products that are out of stock with long delivery times. Who is the 'Expert' who gives the verdicts? The product quality is poor and one item was damaged. The Dent Removal Kit is laughable - more 'Heath Robinson' than 'Expert'! The kit was returned by First Class post and of course the 'Experts' have said that it has not arrived! The customer service function is totally unhelpful and disinterested. The customer service person sounded very disappointed that we had kept our proof of postage but they ... more
