Advantages: Quite cool good capacity Disadvantages: Poor reliablity
This product is a bit of a double edged sword. The down side is that my second one of these has just failed after returning my orgional to the supplier after a Harddrive failure, the same has just happened. the Drive is quite bulky, however this does not have much on an impact.
The plus points. Everything you need comes in the box, power supply usb cables extra. Its is very stright forward to use, plug all the relavet cables in, switch it on and ... ...have partitioned mine 50/50 with NTFS and FAT32, so i can keep very large work files and use it with my PS3. The formatting process was no different to any other Harddrive.
It is relativly quite, runs fairly cool and generally gives good transfer speeds. there have never been any bad sectors on either drive, when i have run scandisk.
The only problems i have unfortunatly have been a total cease of usage, on the first occasion the harddrive itself ...

Advantages: 250GB for an affordable and reasonable price Disadvantages: Large and heavy leading to problems with portability
The seagate 250GB hard drive is a necessary and useful piece of equipment to the 1000's of people who download movies or films etc. Its large storage capacity and and unusually low price was something that I found very attractive. The hard drives fan makes little noise in comparison to its size, and I have had next to no problems with it in my 1 year experience of it. However the fact that this hard drive needs to be plugged in to a power source ... ...awkward shape of the harddrive due to the extra cables. On purchasing the Hard drive I found the installation quick and easy, the fact that it connects using a USB makes it quick and easy to plug in, and the thin tall shape allows it to sit neatly next to your computer. But I think that despite its general clumsy features that I would recommend it to anyone as a very useful way to store films, TV shows or music. ...

I have owned my Seagate hard drive for around 4 years and during that time it has functioned perfectly and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I have even been known to knock it over on occasion and it still works perfectly! It is also extremely simple to use, fast and is relatively quiet. The only downsides are the size and the fact that it must be plugged in to be used which makes it unsuitable for portable use and a bit awkward to use at ...
