You can have my girlfriend, but you are NOT having my car!!!

AdvantagesEquipment; looks; reasonably cheap to buy/run/insure; quality; easy ownership and good handling.

DisadvantagesRoad noise can be intrusive on rough surfaces, ride can be too firm at low speeds.

"...38,000 miles and a full Seat service history is pretty good value. As a 20-year-old male with zero no claims, the insurance is VERY important, and in this instance is reasonable, undercutting a 1.25 Fiesta by around 80 fully comp. Other running costs are as expected for a car with a 1.4 engine - 150 for 12 months' tax, and a full tank of around 50 gives me about 480 miles - not bad at all considering how many times I have to floor it coming out ..." "I Gotta Full Tank Of Unleaded..." Review with images

Advantagescheap and reliable

DisadvantagesChill

"...set out to buy a Seat Ibiza but it just happened to be there at the right place at the right time. Living on the Isle of Wight you seem to pay even more for second hard cars as the dealers are not as plentiful as on the mainland and you are really limited to where to go. With this in mind, I decided to take my luck and buy a car off eBay! Knowing absolutely nothing about cars how much could go wrong! I was watching this particular Seat Ibiza ..." Read review

Imperial Finger Raves Darling

AdvantagesNot a Bus

DisadvantagesA Car

"...I bought a 5-door 2006 Seat Ibiza 1.4.SE DAB. There are some numbers and letters there that the friendly car salesman kindly explained to the somewhat bewildered man who was blinking at him. The 1.4 Engine size means I can poke along comfortably on the motorways in any lane I choose and I wont have to lean forward going up hills like I had to in my old 1.0 Corsa, and pootling around Imperial Town I benefit from around 40 imperial miles to the ..." The Mad Cabbie Retires

AdvantagesSee opinion

DisadvantagesSee opinion

"...with an opinion about a Seat Ibiza car, do I hear you asking? Well, quite a lot actually. I’ve now taken up a new position with the taxi driver’s trade union here in Dublin, as editor of a new monthly in-house newspaper, and have rented out my taxi to another driver. (Although I’ll still do the odd shift here and there!) So I needed another car to get me around the city when my old “joe maxi” was out working. ~ ..." Read review

Seat Ibiza 1.4 DAB Sport.

AdvantagesVW quality for less money and better looks. Excellent stereo system

DisadvantagesHard suspension set-up, annoying auto locking at 15kph.

"...far. Having already owned a Seat Leon I was expecting a quality car at a good price and I haven't been disappointed. This is the DAB special edition, meaning it has a more powerful 1.4 petrol engine(100bhp compared 75bhp), excellent digital radio CD system, I-pod connection and uprated sports suspension over the normal 1.4 sport version. Seat has given the whole Ibiza range a facelift and it makes a vast improvement on the previous model. The ..." Read review

Barcelona's Bantamweight

AdvantagesGreat all round super-mini.

DisadvantagesAlarm not fitted as standard.

"...and I bought a new Seat Ibiza 1.4 S in March 2000 after buying a new Alhambra people carrier 5 months earlier and being very pleased with it despite having a few problems crop up. The value for money factor and the input of VW's engineering and technical ability and reputation were big, big factors in buying a Seat Ibiza, so much so that we did not compare it against any other manufacturers models, which spec for spec were far dearer. The ..." Read review

This car is so easy to fall in love with

AdvantagesIncredible road handling, Looks gorgeous, Cheaper insurance than Clio, corsa etc!

Disadvantages Rear wiper washer tube keep coming loose

"I have owned the Seat Ibiza sport for 1 year and 8 month now and I could not be happier with it. This was my first car and with there being so many decent hatchbacks out there I cannot truely compare how it drives to a clio for example. As for looks though I believe this car is by far the best looking hatchback for the price range. This is only enhanced by the newer model just recently released, Seat have revamped the front grille giving it ..." Read review

Spain's best kept secret...

Advantagesequipment levels, quality, retailers, price.

DisadvantagesNot much at the price. All you sacrifice is the badge and if that's what you look for, you miss the point of Seat.

"Nearly bought a Saxo - wow, I'm glad I came to my senses! When shopping for my new car, I saw all sorts and sat in various driver's seats trying cars for size. What swung it was closing the door on the Ibiza - a hefty VW clunk - not what you find on a Saxo, Clio of Punto, where the doors are made of tin. The spec I got would have cost 4000 more in the equivalent Polo (same engine, gearbox, floorpan, switchgear...etc...etc...) and I would have ..." Read review

For the budget buyer (M reg and later)

AdvantagesLow Insurance Group(4), Reliable, VW build quality without the expense

DisadvantagesCan sometimes be tricky to get parts on older models, average servicing prices

"...record (3 accidents). An M-Reg Seat Ibiza 1.4 CLX was what I plumped for. I bought the car in Catford, South East London in late 2002. It was in good condition and had a full dealer service history. The asking price was 2000 but I managed to haggle them down to around 1800. Now for a similar model you'd probably expect to pay between 1400-1600. The drive is responsive, if a little firm. The breaks are good - not too early (throwing you ..." Read review

Seat Ibiza 1.4

AdvantagesNippy car, seats 4 in comfort, large boot

DisadvantagesInterior not as well fitted as golf/polo

"...to my review for the SEAT IBIZA 1.4. If you're wondering why i am able to write reviews on so many different cars, its simple...... I've worked in the Car auction and Car hire business, so have driven too many cars to mention. Ciao suggests being factual, so i'll use headings, and be as easy to understand as possible. Reliability These ibiza's are endowed with VW mechanicals, and i have found them to be reliable as long as serviced properly. The ..." Read review

Nice car - bad service

AdvantagesNice drive; fairly reliable

DisadvantagesBad Oxford SEAT dealer; problems with immobiliser

"...car serviced at our local SEAT garage in Oxford which offers the worst customer service ever know to man/woman. Apart from that we've had some problems with the immobiliser - which has never been fixed. Once in a while it switches itself on, which means you can't start the car and no garage (including the horrible SEAT one in Oxford) have ever managed to fix it. The problem just goes away for a while and then rears its ugly head a few months or ..." Read review

AdvantagesFast, economical, gorgeous

Disadvantagessmall boot

"...that the quality of my Seat nearly matches that of my three Audis I have driven before and inside it almost feels as big, but is not as safe, because the basic 1997 model did not include Airbags. As for reliability, it will beat everything else in its class apart from the VW-Polo. ..." Read review

Seat Ibiza 1.4 Cool/S

AdvantagesLooks Good, Quite Quick, Interior Screen

DisadvantagesSeat Dealerships and Garages

"...it everywhere. It's a 2000 Seat Ibiza and they are rare as it was onlyin production 2 years. So I'll start with the positives, it looks fantastic I've had silver multispoke alloys and the car is silver (best colour) so it looks really good. The interior plastic is not great compared to my dads Alfa Romeo but then not many cars are that good inside. The interior features a screen which glows red (as all the buttons do at night) the screen tells you ..." Read review

SEAT IBIZA 1.4 16v Sport

AdvantagesGreat looks and handling

DisadvantagesA little noisy and annoying seatbelt marks

"Bought my Ibiza a year ago now and am very pleased with it. Excellent VW mechanics and the build quality is fantastic. The ride is very firm and the car could do with a bit more sound proofing, but the stereo is more than capable of drowning out road noise. The handling is very competent and makes the car very "chuckable". My only complaint is that the seatbelt makes marks on the door trim if it is let go so you have to try to remember to let it ..." Specially for the girls!!!

AdvantagesAC, climate control, comfy!!!

DisadvantagesNot that i've found yet...

"I bought a Seat ibiza second hand for 3500 and its the best value for money i've had in a long time!!!! The car runs very smoothly (a bit of a step up from my clapped out fiesta!) and *touch wood* i haven't had any problems or faults that have needed replacing, my RAC card is feeling neglected! Personally, being a girl, one of my favourite things about the car is all the bits inside! I love the fact that its got CD changer so whatever the mood, ..." Read review
