Introduction I'll start with an introduction to tell you why I've chosen this car. I've recently owned a SEAT Leon Cupra, which was great fun. Although the car was very nice it did cost a fair bit to run and insure. With me wanting to buy a house and being 22 years old the Leon Cupra was not the...

Performance AND fuel economy, good build quality

More frequent servicing

Before this car I had an 1.4 MG ZR (petrol) which although gave excellent performance for that size engine, was proving costly for my commute to work - on average I was achieving about 33 miles per gallon. So, after only having had that car for 8 months I decided to switch (to the dark side as...

Excellent performance and economy

Slightly less refined than its VW cousins

I purchased one of these in May 2004 (2003, 03 plate), the 1.9 TDI PD 130 version. This car uses the same 130bhp 1.9 litre diesel engine used extensively throughout the VW Group (VW, SEAT, Skoda and Audi) range. The first thing you notice about this car is the power and especially the torque...

Great engine, ride, price

none yet

I recently got a new job and I knew I'd be doing a lot more miles in the car. What I needed was a new deisel engined car. I had driven a Golf TDI and knew they performed well, however they were out of my price range. I use to own a Seat Ibiza before they were bought out and it was a rubbish car...

Good Fuel Economy

Expensive when repairs are needed

First of all i'll start by saying that the Seat Ibiza is put together very well, it is so sturdy and hard wearing. My Ibiza had 130,000 miles on the clock and it's still going strong and the bodywork has kept its "new car" look. Although, along the way it has had some replacement parts i would...

Good torque, good economy

Size, Suspension, Handling

I do a fair amount a travelling in Spain. I recently had a 1.9 TDI Ibiza with 5700mls on clock. First impression was, it is nice. It was till I left the airport. For a mom run , it is great. For someone who wishes to get from a-b IN A HURRY , this car is just not it. One, turbo-lag is very...

good economy ( diesel eng.), cheap spare parts,

Tech data of my Ibi 1.9 TDi AGR BHP 90 at 3750 revs Torque 210 at 1900 revs V max 180 km/h acc 0-100 km 12.1 sec I have a diesel engine in my Ibi so i will focus mostly on TDi and engines as VAG uses various engines in their cars and people often have problems with identyfing right one, and this...

Comfort, economy, engine performance

Lack of boot light in 2005 model

Owned the car since 2005 when the Sport first came out. Bought the car new as I wanted a small car that was comfortable, quick and economical. Moved from a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec petrol. Found the Ibiza to be far more comfortable when driving, better performance due to the 1.9 TDI engine and have...

“Fantastic Car”

Fun to drive

Can't fault it - want to drive it too much!

This is the first car I have ever bought for myself and I couldn't be happier with it. For a diesel engine I find that it is exceptionally quiet and even if it wasn't the sound system would more than cover most noises! It is absolutely fantastic to drive both through the town and on the motorway...

I bought the new style "facelift" Seat Ibiza FR in October 2006 and I have not been able to stop driving it since. From owning a 1.1 Citron C2 the change was huge. The diesel engine produces plenty torque and gives this car impressive in gear acceleration while still maintaining excellent economy...

Fast, good handling, excellent fuel economy

none found so far

The best car I have ever owned, excellent in every field, fuel economy:power ratio is excellent. I use all the power the engine has and I still get 50+ mpg. Low reving engine, so there is always power avaliable even running at high speeds. Very comfortable even on rough roads due to sports...

running costs,

road noise

Not bad from the outside not so good from the inside. Averaging 45mpg is never a bad thing, however, the loud road noise, poor brakes, habit of understeering, and high insurance costs bring you back to reality. The back seats are cramped, entry is not as easy as it could be if the drivers seat...

“Good economical car”

Very economical and roomy

quite slugish to start

I just got a second hand Seat Ibiza, it's a diesel and with it's 1.9 litre engine much bigger than anything I've driven before. I have been very impressed with it's economy, it really does the same miles to the gallon as my little cinquecento did! The other thing I like is how safe and solid it...

“Seat Ibiza Cupra.”

Stupidly Fast, Great looks, Handles great

Lots of common faults, easy to mark plastics

What more can you say than a wolf in sheeps clothing. Other than the cupra badges, big brakes and general atomosphere around the car you would not know it was beast of a car. The car might not look like much but if you ask any seat enthusiast it drives amazing and as one of the cheapest cars to...
