One or two good games.

Impossible to program for.

After the great sucess of the Megadrive, Sega though they had it easy. They were wrong, and the Saturn remains to be one of the most flawed and underappreitated systems that was ever on the market. The trouble started with the impossible to program system, a lot like the PS2 now, and hardly any...

“The Sega Saturn”

Cheap, good looking, CD player for £30!

Old, bulky, no longer supported

The Sega Saturn is a dead console: no one supports it, not even Sega. So why should you invest in one? Well, let me tell you a story... I bought by Sega Saturn in the summer of 2000. The sun was out, everyone was care-free. Rabbits hopped along the tree-lined streets of the rural town of...

I find myself here at almost 2am on the Internet, so I thought I'd talk to you about the Sega Saturn console. It's not as 'retro' as some gaming machines like the X Spectrum, but it's pretty much forgotten about now, although there must be a few satisfied Saturn owners out there! Ok, so the Sega...

Since the release of their ‘Sega Saturn’ Sega Inc have been shunned and put down every step of the way except for their exceptional quality of games which they have now published for other consoles, but these insults were not fair as after buying a Sega Saturn for only £20 second hand, I was...

I bought this 2nd hand when i just wanted a console to muck around with for a bit and I didn't really have too much money, it was okay when i first had it and then i got bored of it and found it hard to get games for my new console. I do like rayman though. RAYMAN ROCKS!! I am probably going to...

Own memory card built in

dead in the uk, us and japan

The Sega Saturn was an amazing console but the public helped by Sega in many respects treated it poorly, with very little support and a very few good games, it seems the Saturn was destined for the cupboard and was never to be seen at highstreet stores again. But it had some great games - some...

Dead

I had a Sega Saturn - it had some of the best games around - classics like Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2 aswell as many great looking adventure games - NiGHTS was good - as was the brilliant Sonic jam and panzer Dragoon Saga. I did swap my Saturn - it died out as not enough were sold - partly...

cheap

no more games being made

when the saturn came out very few people bought it and bought the playstation instead . Because the saturn has worse graphics than the playstation no one thought that it was any good but it has some of the best games ever created such as nights and an excellent conversion of sega rally . They...

This machine was never going to win an award for most powerful console or ever get the award for popularity but what it should win awards for is its great games. I bought one of these because I simply could not afford the latest N64 titles and within a week my Saturn Library was larger than my...

When the Sega Saturn came out it was a top of the range console that was all the rage. Naturally I couldn't afford one and so I was stuck with the not as good, but still rather groovy, Mega Drive. However, for my last birthday my wonderful wonderful girlfriend decided that she would let me choose...

“Good While it Lasted”

Good graphics and still plenty of games available

Will be hard to get hold of in a year or two

The Sega Saturn was a game machine that was Sega's replacement for the doomed Megadrive with CD add on. While it was around, and it still is in a lot of homes, it did have some ground breaking games developed for it, like Panzer Dragoon and Sega Rally, and these type of graphics had not been seen...

The Sega Saturn may have been bulky, unattractive and, in the end, a loser in the war with Sony but it can still have a place in your gaming collection. The Saturn is much more than a 'blast from the past' console. The multi-player games can scorch any party into life. The Streetfighter games are...

“Sega Saturn a great console”

published 25/02/2001

Great games

Its no longer alive as a format

While the PSX became the global console format that doesn't mean its best or fastest or most impressive. Marketing is why a console sells and sadly Sega couldn't match Sony. The Saturn provides more CPU power (2x25mhz) instead of 1x33mhz, higher resolution visuals, better sound and generally more...

Hard to find the excellent games

What can I say about this console, one of the all time greats, from the day i bought this console, even to this day, i enjoyed every bit of the excellent games for this underrated console. Partly because of sega it flopped. They build a console which is hard to program, crap marketing, £100 more...

“The true gamer's choice”

Great, classic games

starting to look old now.

The Sega saturn for some reason was overlooked by the general public, and was overtaken by Sony and Nintendo. The Saturn had some of the best games ever, and still does. Sega Rally is still my favourite game after all these years. It was made in 1995! Gran Turismo for the Playstation came 2 years...
