Advantages: Very good time-keeper. Classic Good Looks. Not Expensive for Technology Offered. Disadvantages: In Five and a Half Years I Have Found None!
...Argos Catalogue Shop, but attractive, Seiko Automatic watch.
It had already started stopping, on and off, during the previous couple of months. Then, like some form of 87 year, out of date omen, on April 14th it ticked its last tick.
In terms of appearance, that first Seiko was everything that I seek in a watch. It had a simple stainless steel strap (note use of the word strap NOT bracelet!) and case. The face was very clear in black with gold ... ...…..oh, no! It said SEIKO on the face!
This one had another word, in smaller black capital letters on its pale silver face: "KINETIC" The shape and size looked almost identical to the stopped watch on my wrist; the two main differences were the silver face and lack of the weekday window.
I entered the shop and asked the fairly elderly gentleman (they always were in Hanningtons!) sales assistant, just what a "Kinetic" watch was. He was no better ...

Advantages: Good quality, strong, Value for money Disadvantages: Nothing at all.
I have owned a Seiko Kinetic watch for about 5 years now. The model is a 5m42 OE30.
There are other models available like the 5M42-0h09 which has the same face but a complete blue plastic strap, quality of the watch is not as good though.
I believe that Seiko don't make this one any more and for the life of me I don't know why. I have however seen them in a few jewellers shops around the country and in Germany.
I bought it for £220 which was in ... ...silver in colour with a black face and white night illuminated numbers. There are the standard analogue Hour, Minute and second hands along with a clear and readable date display on the right hand side. Telling the time in any conditions is easy as the display is clear and well presented.
Also shown on the face is the battery meter, which is in the form of a yellow through red semi circle around the right hand side. I have never managed to work ...

Advantages: Good looking and great technology Disadvantages: None so far
I've had my Seiko Kinetic SQ50 watch for around six years now. That was around the time that they were released.
I bought it while I was on holiday and remember seeing it as just another nice looking watch. I hadn't seen adverts explaining what the 'Kinetic' in the name meant.
As I was trying it on, the shopkeeper explained to me what 'Kinetic' meant; Basically, the watch uses no batteries! It works on movement made as you wear it. As you go about ... ...scratch resistant. People still ask me every second month whether I have a new watch!
I highly recommend Seiko watches generally. If anything were to happen to this watch, I'd probably buy another 'Kinetic' watch from the newer 'Auto Relay' or 'Premier' ranges. Great technology which still impresses me! ...

Advantages: Requires no battery, titanium versions available, glowing points and hands Disadvantages: Losing the pins can be an issue
I have wanted a Seiko watch for a long time. The brand and designs just ooze quality and stature. It's no wonder I won't wear anything else these days.
It's important for my job that every second is accounted for, and with the Seiko kinetic titanium watch I have is perfect, drifting only a second over a period of months. Fantastic, from a watch with no battery!
The 'kinetic' mechanism I thought would be a gimmick, a back-up with no actual use. ... ...with proper adjustment by the jewellers.
I recommend Seiko for their designs and their prices, as well as their features. if you see a style that you like and you can afford it, go for it. Get the kinetic auto-relay ones if you can, they are worth every penny. ...

Advantages: No fiddly batteries to change etc Disadvantages: makes a very quiet noise while charging, sounds strange for a watch that looks so sturdy
Seiko Kinetic is an absolutely revolutionary concept in watch design. My one, the 5M43 is a absolute design classic. Black face, with 'Seiko' and 'Kinetic' on it in stainless steel. A very handy and talked about feature is the energy reserve indicator on the right above the hand dial which when pressed will rotate a certain amount of time e.g 5 mins = i day 10 mins = 3 days and a full 30 mins, half rotation means it has 6 months reserve left!! It ...

(+) Arguably the best looking mens watch ever. Large clear display, Solar powered,Enough functions to keep you informed/amused forever. (-) Not G-Shock nor Atomic clock (via radio signal) contolled. You certainly need instuctions here as well.
