Advantages Advantages Amazing sound quality. Very comfortable. Great looking. Excellent value.

Disadvantages Disadvantages 3m wire is a bit long for some uses.

Sennheiser HD 201 Headphones ------------------ I purchased these headphones from Amazon for £14.99 (priced at £15.90 at the time of writing) so that I could play my keyboard without annoying everyone in earshot. I had previously being using a cheap set of earphones but being appalled at the sound quality and the complete lack of comfort after an hour or so playing, I decided I should invest in a proper pair of headphones. After looking at several products in the £10-£20 price range I thought that with a quality make like Sennheiser and for just £15, I couldn't go far wrong. = Sound Quality = ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfort, sound quality, price, availability

    Disadvantages Disadvantages absolutely none!

Why I purchased these Headphones Being a relative newcomer to the world of IPods’ my Nano is just over a year old and I have found it to be an absolute revelation in terms of the amount of songs I have access to just at the press of a button. The only downside for me with this wonderful piece of technology is the earphones that come with the device, having ‘odd’ ears anyway and being partially deaf in my left one I struggle to get a snug and secure fit with the supplied earphones, I find that they often slip out or become uncomfortable after I have worn them for a long period of time and being ... more

Advantages Advantages Low Cost, Reliable, Robust

Disadvantages Disadvantages Loses a bit on bass sound

In the last few years, I've rediscovered a passion for playing piano, and as part of the therapeutic, artistic process, when the mood takes, I do like to energetically bash out those melodies to produce my very own wall of sound. Now my good lady wife on the other hand, whilst fully appreciating my efforts to develop my craft, always prefers to wait until I've actually learned a piece properly before hearing my impassioned often wrong-noted output. So rather than me continue to wreak havoc on my mother-in-laws upright piano, we compromised and invested in a Yamaha keyboard, on the firm ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant sound for the price

Disadvantages Disadvantages No sound limiter, long cable

When looking for a pair of headphones to use with my PC, I was looking for the following attributes: 1. I wanted a pair of large closed cup headphones, the type that covered my ears as I hate in ear ones. 2. Decent sound quality so that I could listen to music and really enjoy the experience 3. I wanted to be able to sit in the same room as my daughter while she was playing her music full blast without hearing that annoying boom-da-boom noise coming from her direction. 4. I wanted to get all of this without spending a fortune, my budget was just £30. I spent quite a bit of time looking round ... more

Advantages Advantages Very comfortable and good all round sond quality.

Disadvantages Disadvantages 3m long lead might be annoying to some.

My son loves his music, and is regularly buried away listening to some form of noise on either his phone, his iPod or his computer. Normally, he has a set of earphones that he can use, but is notorious for always damaging them in some way (as most kids seem to do), with either the cable breaking or the ear piece pulling out, or whatever other way they can possibly be damaged. The other problem we sometimes have is that if we are out in the car, whilst we will listen to Radio 2 etc, he will want to listen to his own music, and often whilst he can hear it on his earphones, at times we can also ... more

Advantages Advantages Strong, Great Sound, looks awesome and Great quality for the price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Long annoying wires and Not outside sound proof.

Let's start off with the bad points...The 3m cable that comes with the Headphones is beyond the most annoying thing to me, especially when it becomes spaghetti junction in your pocket.. no matter what when I want to extend it so I can listen to the TV from the other side of the room I always have to sort out and untangle the wire which usually takes me about 5 minutes of frustration and swear words. When I normally go out into town, I wear these main problem with them is the fact that it doesn't block out unwanted noise from the cars passing by unless you turn your music up to max, which does ... more

I wanted a new set of headphones but as usual didn't have a lot of cash so I searched around for some decent but reasonably priced ones. Absolute Music in Poole had these on offer for £14 and I thought I'd give them a go. To be honest I wasn't fussy, I wanted them for the laptop to listen to Youtube videos and for my Virtual Guitar amp, They come with the usual adapter for 1/4 inch sockets so they are great for MP3 players, the headphone jack on my guitar amp and the Virtual Amp, all I needed. When I got them home and plugged them in I was blown away by the sound quality, they really do have a ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, comfortable, high quality cable, gold plated jack

Disadvantages Disadvantages Style may be seen as unattractive,

I bought these headphones half way through 2009 at a Music Live convention in Birmingham UK. They were on sale for £10 (Reduced from some larger value!) and I have had them ever since. My first main impression was on the looks. In my opinion, I’m quite impartial by that I mean they aren’t the sexiest looking headphones whilst they aren’t the ugliest pair either! Anyway I don’t buy my headphones on looks. On my first test of these headphones, I was incredibly surprised by the pristine highs faithfully reproduced by them. The high end is not too bright but not a smeared flat tone either. It is ... more

Advantages Advantages light weight, amazing sound quality, brilliant value, very comfortable

Disadvantages Disadvantages not very durable, very long cable, not portable enough

I know what you're thinking. £20 headphones: they aren't exactly going to blow you away. But heck, they do. These are quite possibly the best headphones you could buy for under £50, let alone under £20, I was honestly absolutely amazed by the quality of these cans. I got them for about £20 from play.com, and after a somewhat eventful delivery process, they finally arrived about 2 weeks late. (i hasten to add - this was of no fault to the manufacturer or play.com, just the couriers...) I have heard that it is a good idea to effectively 'knock in' your headphones by leaving them playing a piece ... more

With the network have been constructing at work I have mentioned several times, due to the nature of the use of the computers each needs its own set of headphones and as everything else we have been using is top of the range quality goods, we decided not to cheap on the headphones and invested in these Sennheiser HD 201 which were £15 per unit. I have been so impressed I now own my own pair of 201’s and they have been fantastic! Now, although these do have a headphone jack and are wired meaning you could use them for music, tv, gaming etc they are the sort of headphones I would recommend only ... more
