Wallet Goes Walkies - AGAIN

Advantages: One number access to "stop" the lot
Disadvantages: Need to keep telephone number safe elsewhere

Sentinel - protects your cards and more

Advantages: one phone number to cancel everything
Disadvantages: have to remember to add new cards

Sentinel Card Protection does exactly what is says on the tin. It protects your cards. It also protects your wallet, passport, driving licence and more. Have a credit/debit/store card? Read this

Advantages: Card protection, cheap, range of services
Disadvantages: None

Sentinal Card Services is something I would not consider being without. It wasn't until I subscribed to the service that I realised how much it offered. Basically, its a card protection package. You provide them with the numbers of all your credit / debit / store cards and if they are ever lost or stolen, you just make one phone call to Sentinal and they contact all your card holders on your behalf. Lets face it, if your cards were lost would you ...

No Assistance when needed

Advantages: Should provide a single point of contact in a stressful situation
Disadvantages: Ends up costing time and money increasing stress when no-one answers the phone

I have used Sentinel to provide cover for many years confident that if I should lose my cards in any way then Sentinel would remove some of the hassle. The reality was that when I lost my wallet sk-ing in Canada I was unable to get past the Sentinel answerphone! I then made contact with my bank who were also unable to obtain an answer from Sentinel (It was the early hours in UK) although they did at least cancel my bank card. On my return Sentinel ...

Sentinel. Terrible cancellation procedure

Advantages: overwritten by disadvantages
Disadvantages: You can not get out

...I have been with Sentinel for years and when I decided I no longer wanted their services I wrote a letter to cancel them and they claim not to have received it. I have also contacted them by phone. But they do not offer Reference numbers for the phone calls so you have no way of proving you have called them to cancel the services. It is a nightmare I am going through an ordeal and the co-op who recommended their services (and advertises them in their website! ) refuses to help- I have asked them not to not accept their charges and they said they can not do this. Don't do anything to keep customers happy.

...the most awful experience with sentinel card protection. I am their customer for about 3 years and never contacted them for a claim. The customer service is very rude and not helpful at all. I asked my service to be upgraded to Gold they refused and offered to cancel my existing and sign for gold but I would not get refund. I did not know that the Gold survice exist at all.
