...camera. So in stepped the Sharp gx1 into my life. It is silver and black.
APPEARANCE
On first looks the phone appears to be quite big but actually i like to think of it more as compact. The phone is 13cm tall and 4 wide so isn’t huge. It is not much bigger than a nokia 3310 and weighs less. Considering the features the phone has it truly is small. The phone buttons are nicely spaced out so you wont find yourself pressing 2 keys at once! Look can ...

The worst camera phone on the market
Review of Sharp GX1 by
Dawnlb
Advantages: small slimline and not too heavy.
Disadvantages: over all not a good design and poor features.
Take a look at the Sharp GX1 and you will see, that it has a slim design , not at all chunky as you would expect for a phone that has a small digital camera integrated into the back, not as lightweight as some but still not over the top and makes your pocket drag on the floor. First brought onto the phone scene by O2, but they are now wide spread to find on places such as eBay, unlocked and on all networks, so to find one on your network should no ...

The Blunt GX1... sorry, SHARP GX1
Review of Sharp GX1 by
daddycash
Advantages: Gadget laden, slick looking, inexpensive
Disadvantages: fragile! poor quality pics, overall size
I DON'T LIKE IT! Ok? I thought I did but I don't. This was the monstrosity I purchased before I got my new Nokia, and I'm SOOO glad that I took it back. I never thought that i'd need to use 02's 14 day money back guarantee, but I managed to get fed up with this phone in half that time! Goodbye and good riddance.
Ok, let's be reasonable. I'll give the GX1 a fair trial. I must have liked it once, right? I bought the handset for two reasons only: ...

Badly marketed but good
Review of Sharp GX1 by
wheeljack77
Advantages: Polyphonic tones, built in camera, colour screen
Disadvantages: A bit on the big side, easily damaged
The Sharp GX1, originally released exclusively through the o2 website, now widely available, is, in basic terms, a good handset.
Being the first generally affordable media messaging handset with BUILT IN camera, you would think that it would have recieved much better advertising than the absolute zero that I have seen.
This is a pretty cool looking handset, with all the latest features- 16 chord polyphonic ringtones, colour screen(65,536 colour),THAT ...

Sharp GX1, too blunt, or so sharp it draws blood
Review of Sharp GX1 by
olliejaylewis
Advantages: Full picture format support, built in camera, GPRS, WAP & IR Connection
Disadvantages: Large compared to modern mobiles, display fails sometimes
The Sharp GX1 mobile phone is sheer sex on legs, or so i thought when i handed the shop assistant £600 and got 2 GX1 boxes handed back. (ones for the girlfriend as i wasnt allowed to buy one unless i got her one too!, yeah i know, under the thumb.)
Upon opening and the very easy plugging in and setting up, i faithfully pressed the power on button and watched the phone spring in to life and i was in no way dissapointed! i nearly sprung into life ...

Good but could be better
Review of Sharp GX1 by
davham
Advantages: Polyphonic ringtones, large screen, decent camera
Disadvantages: Infrared poor, earpiece volume low
The camera is obviously not equivilant to a top of the range digital camera but for a phone it is decent. Fairly good snaps of the subject can be taken in good light and if the subject does not move. It has a decent digital zoom and the phone can store a great deal of photos. Also you can make people's photos flash up when they phone you! Not a great deal of use but very entertaining( for a week, at least.)
The polyphonic ringtones are good and ...

slightly fuzzy gx1 - updated
Review of Sharp GX1 by

Advantages: colour screen, camera etc
Disadvantages: not such great quality
...been spoilt before my new Sharp arrived, because I'd been using a Nokia 7650 for a couple of months, before camera phones and media messaging really hit the market in a big way, and in comparison, well, the Sharp is its very inadequate younger cousin.
My intial feelings towards this slim, but quite heavy phone were rather negative: Sure, it takes photos, it's smaller than the Nokia, and a big plus point is that it looks more like a 'normal' phone, ...

I like my GX1
Review of Sharp GX1 by
lisaleahjack
Advantages: Great all rounder
Disadvantages: On the large side
I got this phone after swopping my new Siemens A60 for it...and I definately got the better deal!
It has a nice large screen and although the picture quality is showing its age abit now, it is still good for sending MMS's to your mates on!
It has an okay range of polyphonic ring tones and the facility to download new ones via WAP so thats okay.
Staring to look a bit large now especially as the trend for flip phones is getting stronger now.
On ...

Review of Sharp GX1 by

Advantages: like a mini pc
Disadvantages: too big
...all the great things the sharp phone allows. and although i must say, this phone is a great piece of machinery, to me it actually runs to slow, just like a pc?
Technology of the mobile phone may be increasing, but so is the speed in which your allowed to use these applications.
Although now on the market ON HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR PHONES - much more compact and useable, this phone is a technologicasl delight for mobile phone users.
The problems ...

Stay Clear
Review of Sharp GX1 by
massivechin
Advantages: Easy to use, Memory Capacity
Disadvantages: Battery Life, No Java, Camera Quality
I have had this phone for 9 months, at first it seemed to be one of the best on the market, now it is one of the worst. The battery life fell to less than one day after just a few months, the infra red has never worked, The camera quality is the worst out there, especially when the zoom function is used or the lighting is slightly dark. The screen became quite soon after being in my pocket, the ability to download java games isn't there, and the games ...

Advantages: battery life, easy to work, big phone book
Disadvantages: poor picture quality, cant read txt in outside daylight.
i tried to read a txt msg while i was out but i could not read it as it is vey dull outdoors in daylight, the picture quality has been very poor you can adjust the zoom & brightness but this makes little difference pictures are still poor,i took a photo of my 14yr old daughter & she looked 70!, on the other hand although it seems flimsy & easily damaged it is waterproof as my partners was dropped in our pond & when he got it out it still worked so ...
