Advantages: good size, good camera and sound, easy to use Disadvantages: battery doesn't last long, needs a steady hand to take pics and videos
I’ve recently got a SHARP LX20 as a free upgrade which came as an unexpected surprise as this was the first time that I didn’t have to pay a penny not even for delivery charges.
But I must admit I wasn’t so keen at first, on getting this particular phone for many reasons. The main reason being that it is a flip phone. I’ve never liked flip phones but I agreed to get it as it was free and I was also told that it was the best one from the ones that ... ...it actually is.
The Sharp LX 20 has tri band, camera with built-in flash which it does take decent photos but you have to have a steady hand otherwise they tend to be blurry, built-in torch (for which I haven’t found a use yet), built-in IrDA port, digital camera so you can shoot and send video clips (although they do take a lot of memory and they are rather expensive to send –if you’ll see my recent bill to understand what I mean), GPRS-enabled ...

Advantages: Sleek design Disadvantages: Only Vodafone
...think twice. The Sharp GX20 is in my opinion the most lucrative phone ever to grace on British land. Its features are second to none and it is difficult to criticise such an innovative phone. I bought this phone at a mere £350 from my local shopping centre, hoping to get the utmost in quality by the so-called “ultimate phone”. Having opened the box, I could not believe the small size for a phone which had numerous sophisticated features.
First of ... ...are another feature that hails Sharp phone. The list of over 30 to choose from isn't a significant number but the quality per tone shows the amount of effort that has been put into it. Unlike the Nokia phones, ring tones such as Ibiza have been included to suit every person. However, if the preinstalled ring tones are not approving then the Vodafone Live will give you a vast selection of the latest and best ring tones to offer. I really love the ...

Advantages: Very nice resolution, design, front screen Disadvantages: texting, only on vodafone
I was a previous gx10 user for about a year and then recently have upgraded to this model, so in this review I will be often talking from a point of view of whether it was a worthwhile upgrade. I've also never owned a nokia so my only experience for comparison will be limited from other people's phones.
Advantages of the gx20:
The thing that impressed me the most as soon as I opened this up was the amazing increase in resolution over the gx10, ... ...While the screen pixels doesn't make so much of a difference being able to get in more detail on the camera at long range is definitely a big advantage. The camera in itself is a big advantage of the phone, while not quite up to the megapixels of phones in Japan and the most recent models here it's surely a big step up from the gx10 in terms of resolution. Also a flash on the front (doubling as torch) is helpful in combatting the problem that the ...

Advantages: Amazing Camera Quality as always from Sharp(Sharp Gx 20 and up) Disadvantages: Vido Recording is only 15 seconds and the battery life isnt really my cup of tea.
...this phone to see if Sharp has finally cracked the problems that plagued the GX10.
It must be hard developing a phone once you've got a solution that works. Yes the GX10 had its problems; mainly annoying menu navigation buttons and the lack of Bluetooth, but on the whole the GX10i proved to be a good phone, with a bright screen and plenty of memory to cope with applications.
The GX20 still keeps the flip up design, even though it's a little wider. ... ...battery strength. As before, the Sharp offers a digital camera for picture messaging and this time around the camera has been moved half way down the casing. For the would-be photographer there are now two modes you can shoot in; portrait and macro. This gives you a degree of control over the shots you take. For poor lighting conditions the Sharp, like the Panasonic x70 features a photo light.
Flip open the lid and you are presented with the same ...

Advantages: Looks good, excellent camera, great games Disadvantages: text, feels top heavy, alarm!
...I plumped for the Sharp GX20 as I read numerous reviews on the web raving about the phone and it's features.
Once the phone arrived first impression was that it looked very stylish although I had reservations about the size, although small in height it's quite chunky and it felt quite heavy even without the battery in.
Battery and sim installed I started to have a good fiddle about.
The menu system although very easy to use is not as good as the ... ...too hot. On the Sharp the graphics/sound are great and have excellent playability. Great for those long train journeys or long delays waiting to see the doctor!
Things that are satisfactory . . . .
Battery life seems fine.
Reception seems ok but has broken up a few times in places I don't normally get a bad reception.
Easy to connect to the net and download those expensive ringtones/games, even though it's GPRS it does take an age to connect ...

Advantages: It's just blooming marvellous Disadvantages: Only on Vodafone
Let me start by saying that I do actually love this phone so this is probably going to end up being a pretty one sided.
A great thing about this phone, at least if you're a saddo like me, is that it takes great photos. They're of very high quality, just like the short video clips you can take. The fact that there is a second smaller screen is great for this as it means that you can see if you're in the shot when taking pictures of yourself, with ... ...help with this and a good flash, with multiple colours including a disco option. Told you I was sad... Anyway, these photos can also be added to your contacts list so that when anyone calls you, their photo appears on both the small outer screen and the larger one too. One slightly annoying problem with these phone versus models like Nokia is that you can't add words to the dictionary when you're sending texts. It is a multimedia phone so you are ...

Advantages: It has almost everything! Disadvantages: Except Bluetooth
The Sharp GX20 is without doubt the finest peice of kit you can get today. It does not have bluetooth, but I think that this is an overated tool, I had a T68i, with blue tooth, I used it only about three times, I find the IR port much more useful as most Laptops have this capacity whereas only a few have bluetooth, and sometimes you get conflicts between bluetooth versions 1 and 2 and between bluetooth and wireless network cards.
So that little ... ...and simple coolness and the Sharp for features.
The Sharp has the best camera in a phone available at the moment, the images are 640 by 480 and very clear, with a bit of good luck and resampling you can create a fair sized image. The phone amazingly has an ok flash, and takes quite good pictures in low light. The macro function is good, although I have limited use of it.
Everything about this phone oozes quality except the battery cover, which ...

Advantages: Digital and Video camera, Games with fantastic graphics, Cool tones, looks rather swish!!! Disadvantages: Quite large in size
...upgraded to this..... the almighty Sharp GX20...... so new and fantastic even David Beckham has one!!! :o)
The phone is very easy to use. It does not take long to master the menu map and if, like me, you had it's little brother, the Sharp GX-10 or GX-10i then it'll take you about 5 minutes to work it out.
The main feature on this phone is its amazingly clear colour screen. As far as colour screens on mobiles go this is the bee's knees.
The GX20 ... ...about this phone, that the Sharp GX-10i sadly lacked was the ability to read the messages you've sent. Well this has now been ectified. You can have up to 250 messages on the phone, shared between your inbox, outbox drafts and sent items. This is great for when you can't remember if you've already sent a mesasge to someone or not.
The phone is also fully Vodafone Live! enabled, which means you can get e-Mail to your phone, use the Vodafone messenger ...

Advantages: Brilliant camera, durable, large screen, excellent reception Disadvantages: small selection of tones, fat
I got this phone passed down from my brother as he got a new one a few years ago now. So I have been using this phone up until christmas 2006 and it has been great.
The camera is the best part about this phone as it takes amazing quality snaps day or night. I don't know what mega pixels it had but all of my mates with new phones were all very poor quality compared to the quality on the GX20. The durability of it is amazing. I can't believe the number ... ...away with no, or very minor marks on the case. Even at the start of December 2006 I actually dropped the phone in the road, and the phone got ran over by a car, knocked a good 50 feet, in the rain. It took me around 20 minutes to find all the pieces (battery, back cover, phone itself). Gave it a quick dry with a towel and it still worked perfectly (although part of the back cover had snapped off)!!
The only downsides are that the phone was slightly ...

Advantages: Stylish, Fun & Easy to Work Disadvantages: Not the smallest phone in the world!!!
The Sharp GX20!! What can I say?? Well, what's the first thing you do when you get a phone!! Look at it!!!! The phone looks very stylish, although as already stated - it's not the smallest of phones (at least you won't lose it). It has both internal and external display screens. Very classy, huh? Load of functions too!!! I'll go through them all!!!
A great colour screen of a good size to start with. An easy to use menu screen - not at all complicated ... ...first.
Camera :- Has both a digital camera (can be downloaded to your computer - all software is included) and a video camera which also records the sound. Great fun for embarrasing others after a night out!! ;-) The camera quality is very good - better than any other camera phone that I have seen; although the subject has to be very still or the picture will go fuzzy. The video quality is good aswell.
Text Messages:- Not as easy to type these ...

Advantages: excellent camera & screen quality Disadvantages: no bluetooth, cant use infra-red for other mobiles
I bought the Sharp GX20 because of its looks, and its specification at the time was almost top standard. Sharp werent as big at the time on mobile phones, and this was tipped to be the last phone they make. The screen quality was excellent and camera quality is stunning for a phone of its age and size. have a mate who has a gx30 and the camera has little difference. The operating system is easy to use and self-explantory. The only downside i have ... ...but you get the impression Sharp have no interest in the phone at all, with vodafone handling all customer services for it and their limited website. Also the software is made by a third-party company.
Worth a buy but has been outdated by the GX30 and latest mobile phones. But the cameras still the best ive seen yet. ...

Advantages: Holds a lot of data in comparison to GX10. Very sturdy. Disadvantages: No stopwatch facility. Have to come in and out to view photos.
This phone does pretty much everything I wanted. It holds quite a few texts messages, photos and video clips in it's memory. I had the GX10 prior to this, and found that it only held around 15 text messages. This phone also gives you a warning that the sms box is full up, but allows you to still send the text you are sending currently.
I've thrown this phone around quite a bit, and it just bounces off the wall and still keeps working! Other phones ... ...this doesn't.
The photo quality is clear, and mates who have other camera phones are envious.
Would say that I'd have liked a stopwatch facility on the phone though. The only other downside to this phone is the photo album. You can't just look at one photo after another with an arrow button, you have to come out of the last one, then into the next (unless I'm missing something).
I've got around 170 contacts saved on this phone, and it has the ...

Yes, you should no two ways about it, i have jsut finished with mine and got a Nokis 7650, i wish i hadn't.
Forget the GX30, it had an MP3 player, bluetooth and an expandable memory slot, only the bluetooth there is worrth having as most people have MP3 players and as for the memory people will only use that to put songs on!

You only notice the difference when you transfer the pictures to a computer, but im sure you guys have digital cameras right?
