I can't stress how good the camera is on this phone, so clear,much better than my former GX20. The video also lasts longer (a couple of minutes rather than 15 secs. Again, as per the GX20 it has a funky torch facility (you can even change the light colour). I quite like the fact that I can also assign different light colours to different people or groups in my phone book, so even when my phone is on silent I can screen calls from a distance! Lots of great features then, and of course it has Blue tooth, although I have had problems trying to bluetooth with other appliances and mobiles. Don't ... more

Advantages Everything!
Disadvantages Nothing honestly its perfect!

The minute i realised sharp had a new phone on the way, my mind was set my 02 contract was comming to its end, new phone time, i had a choice, stay with o2 and get what would be quite frankly a shabby new phone in the Nokia 6230. Or jump ship to Vodafone and be the proud owner of currently the best phone on the market, My mind was made in 34 seconds i went to the shop found a deal. £30 for a Gx30 on a 200 minute 200 txt contract bout £35 pound a month! sorted got it home heard it was good but id not played with it so i wasnt convinced just yet. then on it came. Advantages Top of the range, superb quality camera phone
Disadvantages Hard to think, ummm... May take a while to learn how to use it!

Ive never bought anything that is 'top of the range' or owned the 'latest gadget' before, until now.....!! The Sharp GX30 camera phone really is the best thing sinced sliced bread! ....before i got this phone i had an older style Nokia one & was on pay as you go & spending far too much on top-ups!! A friend who already had the Sharp GX10 pointed out to me that they'd seen this phone on the Vodaphone website & if you are new to a vodaphone contract (i think upgrading is different) you can get it free or pay up to £70, this would depend on what contract & tariff you went for. Upgraded Sharp Mobile 24/05/2004

Disadvantages Size is thick & big compared to some phones

This is my newest Sharp Mobile, I upgraded from the popular GX10. I have noticed a great improvement in the picture quality. It is now 1 mega pixels and it shows in the clarity and sharpness. The screen is large enough to show an entire text message and there's also a smaller front display, which can display a small picture, time and date. It has an extension slot for SD Card (512mb) & MMC (256mb), which comes very handy for the MP3 player function. Advantages 1 megapixel camera, robust, easy to use
Disadvantages flashing, size, mp3 support, sound, game, media player

Ive had this phone 6 months and decided to get rid of it recently so I thought a review of it would be on the cards. I remember the GX10i (david beckham phone)was impressive when I received that with new innovations and radical styling. This phone was supposed to take these features to another level but in my opinion the improvements are minimal compared to the competition. The signal is good and the phone is easy to use. The camera was well ahead with 1 megapixel and the pictures are very good but the music player came just prior to the mp3/radio phenomenon on phones and isnt fully featured ... more

Advantages Brilliant camera and screen
Disadvantages Not a very good signal

I've wanted this phone for ages and finally got it for Christmas, I was sooo please with the quality of the phone, the camera is amazing, it's easy to use, it looks good, however compared to my last phone (the Siemens MC60) the reception strength is terrible!! The difference can be a couple of inches, at work I used to have my old phone on my PC and get a great reception, but with the GX30 I've had to move it 6 inches to the left just to get a decent signal, which means whenever I want to send a text I have to prop it up for about a minute until I get a decent signal, it's very frustrating ... more

Advantages First 1 MEGAPIXEL UK phone
Disadvantages Aeriel!!!

This is an amazing phone overall. The design is much improved from the GX20 has the case now have metallic areas. 1 Megapixel cam phone is now common in Japan but it will beat down any UK phone at this current time. GX30 has a slightly smaller screen than the GX20 and the polyphonic tones have slightly change as the GX30 posses a mini speaker in the front about 3 times the size of the GX20. Both of these are hardly noticeable and does not affect the GX30s overall performance. GX30 takes the SD Multimedia card which can be upgraded to 1Gig. The sharp GX - 30 is a great phone and is pack full of great features which include a 7-stage digital zoom, the Sharp GX30 takes razor-sharp images thanks to its 1 megapixel integrated camera. If you like the results, transfer them to your PC for printing and emailing - or share them with your friends via Vodafone Live! picture messaging.
