Advantages: good sound quality and picture, easy to use Disadvantages: LCD screen- so mucky fingerprints... beware!!
...you get black and white lines, and for that period, the sound is distorted. This little problem is rare. I am about to send it back under guarantee, so Ill let you know about Sharp customer service! Keep your eyes open!

Advantages: As simple and easy as you get, now very cheap too Disadvantages: Short Battery Life,
I bought this camera for my eighteenth birthday which was just over three years ago. I do wish I had saw the digital age coming and realised that despite the price having dropped by a whopping £60 I was not really getting a bargain by paying £300 for it. Since then, the digital camera market has boomed while analogue camera's such as these have depreciated in value like they caused the plague. I was a little peeved to see these on sale a year later ... ...a year after that and to be honest, I began to resent my little viewcam. I felt I had been burned. Every time I looked at it I wished I had saved for a while and invested my cash in an up to date digital thingy with loads of gadgets and bobbins and all that jazz. But I hadn't given my viewcam much of a chance and it was a while before I actually put it to good use. And when I did I began to realise this is actually a pretty nifty little number which ...

Advantages: Good screen, reasonable price. Disadvantages: Bad customer services, no essential leads provided.
...viewfinder.
I picked the Sharp Viewcam VLA10H from Index at £350 with an additional 10% off via a voucher. I had had a Sony before, but, hey, a hefty divorce from a nasty ex-husband had left me without furniture never mind a camcorder. So after two years of saving up, I could just about afford it. I hated 2 years of having no video footage of the kids - all the stuff you want to look back on in later life.
The camcorder was heavier and larger than ... ...a lead twice on the Sharp website, but the site is impossible to understand and seems more interested in flogging you more crap like you have already bought, and giving you FAQ's without offering any on-line help, or ordering facilities. I left a message and was guaranteed a reply by the following working day. Well, that was a couple of days ago, and I am still waiting.
I am angry that the camcorder is useless without this lead and I am expected ...

Advantages: instant playback, easy to use, Disadvantages: short battery life and cost of them, fingerprints on screen
...I eventually decided that this sharp view cam met my criteria. Now I had to buy it. Luckily for me I got a sale brochure from a well-known catalogue company through the post. Guess what? To my luck the view cam I wanted was included in the sale, and I could have it now and pay later! (After all we needed some cash to go to Disneyland). So I placed my order and waited for delivery – which as a matter of fact took about four weeks.
Before I ... ...know about this view cam:
· Built-in 7.5 cm (3") fingerprint-reduced LCD view screen · 16x power zoom · User-friendly on-screen display · Title writer (customisable/standard message set) · Fade mode
· Free angle recording and self recording · Infrared remote control · Quick review
The camera:
************ The actual camera is quite light and very easy to use-it’d have to be with my brain not quite up to anything technical! It has a little ...

Advantages: Gets the job done with exemplary quality Disadvantages: LCD - fingerprints are going to be left on it unless handled with care
...Anyway this baby ( The Sharp Viewcam VLA10H) rocks! I have to confess that this camcorder is currently not in my possession - I borrowed one off an acquaintant and kept it for a few weeks. But I have to say those few weeks led me to believe that I had an exquisite item in my midst.
This baby is a fairly big mama - by that I mean that it is fairly heavy for something ever so small. However they do say good things come in small packages - and that ... ...and just want excellent quality camera footage, then I do recommend this camcorder as it delivers on that.
The LCD screen is a gem because I love to see what I am recording via a good screen - not a little viewfinder. The camcorder uses Hi8 tapes - these are pretty cheap to get (£3) so it is very accessible to everyone to use, so you can record what you have filmed on a 90 minute tape! How good is that? The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery ...

Advantages: affordable, easy to use, trusted brand Disadvantages: screen dirties easily, short battery life with standard battery
I bought this camera under no illusions and was impressed when I received it. Having shopped around, I found a website which dealt in mint condition shop returns - the only thing that has been done with them is that the box has been opened/damaged. Becase of this I paid £120 for this camcorder, which included a lot of accessories which you would be expected to pay for seperatley - I received a shoulder strap, a remote control, various leads, screen ... ...ready to go from the off and the camera made its debut at my wedding. I could not have been more pleased with the results - the stabiliser meant no shaky pictures from walking around with the camcorder, the zoom functions were smooth and as long as you don't zoom in too quickly, the camcorder keeps up well - not losing focus. Even a tipsy beginner at the reception was taught and able to use the camera successfully in minutes. My film came out near ...

Advantages: simple to use Disadvantages: no eyepiece to look through
I was bought the Sharp ViewCam for Christmas, at first I was disappointed as I was hoping for a mini digital camera, but the Sharp ViewCam offers extra flexibility when recording film, as you can look at the LCD screen to see what is being recorded, instead of through a small eyepiece, you can also rotate the picture around to enable self portraits!
The viewcam is also very simple to use with very few buttons to control it, compared with other cameracorders.
... ...its not too heavy!)
The Sharp CameraCorder comes in an ideal size for its type, obviously bigger than the new digital cameras, but great for taking out on trips, to weddings etc.
It has an attractive design; a metallic champagne colour. The cameracorder comes with the usual accessories of a battery charger, shoulder strap, tv connection leads, a minature remote control which is very handy and a quite easy to follow manual. With the Sharp ViewCam ...

Advantages: Easy to use menu displayed on screen, good quality picture, has optical zoom rather than digital Disadvantages: a bit large on size somewhat heavy, no viewing lens just a screen
This is generally a good all round camcorder I have read reviews that the LCD screen can get dirty with fingermarks etc, but that can be easily cleaned with a damp tissue, it has excellent quality of picture and colour when you view the tape back, its a good buy if you want optical zoom rather than the digital that is offerred nowadays, as optical zoom allows the zoom on the whole picture not just digital enhancement. You can also find the manual ... ...The menus are aesy to navigate through and it has quite a few photo features, i still haven't figured out how you can take still shots on it, but I was told that you could.
The only downfalls I would say are the size and the fact that the battery cannot be charged unless it is in the camera and the camera is not being used, there is no seperate charger. I would recommend if you want a decent product but not if you want one of those tiny flashy camcorders ...
