Shloer is a range of Sparkling Juice Drinks. It is available in 6 flavours as follows : *Red Grape *Raspberry, Cranberry and White Grape *Sparkling Rose *White Grape and Apple *White Grape and Elderflower and a White Grape only flavour which my review discusses. This white grape flavoured sparkling drink, contains no artificial flavours, sweetners or colours and is free from preservatives. It is best served chilled and once opened, should be used up within 3 days. Design Every flavour is bottled the same way. A tall, curved glass bottle with a gold top holds the drink. Shloer. HOW IT ALL BEGAN......... Owned by a company called: Merrydown Apparently Schloer is made in the UK to a time honored receipe, devised by the swiss doctor who gave schloer its name. The main ingrediant component are the grapes, which come from sunny Spain,in a place called La Mancha. The sun ripens the fruit and only the very best are selected; brought back in the Uk this is blended with fruit juices to make the full range....and very yummy they are too! There is nothing artificial added. Often called the "The grown up soft drink " because although it's non alcoholic-is sophisticated and ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages some people may not be able to live without alcohol?

Alcohol: The drink of Satan (or so many people believe). It can turn even the nicest people into the dumbest ones you've ever seen, and can really make you suffer the day after too. It's seen as the socially accepted thing to do these days and if you don't drink woe betide you. So what do you do if you don't drink? How can you turn up to a party and shame yourself by ordering a glass of orange juice or a coca cola? Fear not because there's a drink in town that understands your need to divulge a little and to taste the finer things in life. One that understands the importance of image and most ... more

Teetotal or driving? My girls like to drink something a little bit different from water or squash of fizzy drinks if we are having a nice meal. So I have started buying Shloer occasionally for them. Now I only really buy one or two types, but I know there are quite a few more flavours. The ones we prefer are the white and the red grape variety. I shall write this review about the white grape variety as that was the one was opened yesterday in celebration on my daughters Confirmation. The white grape Shloer comes in a clear 1L glass bottle with a green metal screw top and a green label on the ... more

I would just like to write a review on Shloer, a slightly sparkling non-alcoholic drink that we have bought from our local Sainsbury's store to have with our Christmas meal this year. The reason that we have decided to have a non-alcoholic drink as an accompaniment to our meal, is because there are members of the family who either cannot drink for health reasons or simply will not drink at all because they hate all things alcoholic – and for one of them, this even includes Charles Kennedy the ex-leader of the Lib Dems! But anyway, this is why we are having it and so now I shall attempt to do ... more

Shloer is a line of non-alcoholic drinks that have always been a favourite of mine for many a year. They are primarily made from grape juice and are of the sparkling variety. Unlike most soft-drinks however they are marketed exclusively towards adults. This doesn't mean however that they are not suitable for children because they are; I have drunk them from being a young child. They are marketed like this simply because they do have an adult appeal hence why their slogan for many years has been "Shloer - the grown up soft drink" Shloer is primarily sold in one litre bottles in most ... more

You've all seen the adverts for Shloer (you know the one with the flamingos in the Jacuzzi), but have you ever tried it...? If the answer is 'no', I would seriously urge you to do so! THE DRINK ITSELF Shloer originally comes from Switzerland. It is a non-alcoholic, sparkling drink made from a blend of natural fruit juices and water. As a result, it doesn't contain any artificial flavourings, preservatives or sweeteners, and is suitable for vegetarians. There are six flavours to choose from, including 'white grape and elderberry', 'red grape', 'white grape', 'white grape and peach', 'white ... more

"Shloer". Doesn't sound particularly appetising, does it. It looks like white wine though, so I thought it couldn't be as bad as it's name. How wrong I was! No sooner than I had stepped out of Asda, I opened up and had a guzzle. It pains me just to think of it. I was reduced to screwing my face up, and forcing the mouthful down. Needless to say, it went straight back into the shopping bag after that, and off I went thirstier than before, but determined not to put myself through the torture again. Now I'm back in the comfort of my own home, with my parents downstairs and with Geri Halliwell ... more

*My Intro* Shloer. Kinda sounds like slur, the thing you do to your speech when youve had a few too many glasses of chardonnay. There'll be none of that with this drink. Shloer (as irritiating to type as it is to say) is a soft drink for grown ups, although theres really no good reason why you cant give it to kiddywinks, as its alcohol free. *About Shloer* Shloer tastes and looks like wine, so if youre having a girly night in, or a soiree at your pad, you can sip along with everyone else if you dont drink, or you cant drink because youre on medication..or whatever. Its also a sophisticated ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes great, refreshing, fruity, fresh taste, great value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Short life once opened

Shloer is a delicious non-alcoholic drink which has been around for many years. In the 70's we often used to buy Shloer as a slightly different soft drink and over the years we have bought and drunk it from time to time. At the moment it is sold in large one litre glass bottles, from most supermarkets, which seem to be consistently on offer at around £1.99 for a buy one get one free offer. It is also available in ring pull cans and packs of 4 bottles which are 275ml each, depending which flavour you buy. I am sure that years ago there was only the white grape Shloer and the large bottles but I ... more
