Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood - yes, she got married in the last book, remember?) is back. We meet her at the start of the book meditating on a Sri Lankan hillside, with husband Luke, beside her. When a passing salesman wanders past, selling aquamarines at ‘half price’, Becky’s ears prick up. Trying to concentrate on her inner enlightenment isn’t easy after that. Becky watches the man retreating into the distance and suddenly she finds herself forgetting about inner peace and running after him. She’s literally run over hot coals to bag the latest bargain. She didn’t get the 5 carat aquamarines ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant light hearted read.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all.

I've read all of Sophie Kinsella books, so as you can imagine, I couldn't wait for this one to come out - and it definitely didn't dissapoint. Unless I'm a big fan of the author I will wait for books to come out on paperback, but this really wasn't the case for this one! I bought it as soon as it came out, but unfortuantly due to being in the middle of other books I didn't get round to finishing it until recently. ~~~Who is Sophie Kinsella?~~~ Sophie Kinsella is a former financial journalist (hopefully she manages to keep on top of her finances better than Becky Bloomwood), and the author of ... more

Advantages Advantages Another shopaholic book. 'nuff said.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

The only reason I ever buy books in shops at full price, rather than ordering them off the Internet, is if they’re by one of my favourite authors, or I’m just desperate for something to read. This book fits into both those categories – I like the Shopaholic series and I bought it while at the airport waiting to board a 7 and a half hour flight over here, which is as important a time as any to have a book with you. I didn’t know this book had been published yet when I saw it on the shelf, but a quick check on Amazon tells me it’s not out in mainstream paperback yet. I bought an airport edition ... more

Shopaholic and Sister is the fourth book in the series of shopaholic and if you have been good and read them all in order then you will know that Rebecca Brandon nee Bloomwood is a shopaholic. In her last book she married her long term boyfriend Luke Brandon and this book begins where the last took off with them on honeymoon, well in actual fact they have been on honeymoon for the last ten months and life is great, apart from the fact that Becky is still a shopaholic and for every country she has visited she has had to buy something to take home but poor old Luke does not have a clue! When ... more

Advantages Advantages A fun girly read with some serious messages too

Disadvantages Disadvantages The only one I can think of is that there are no more books in the Shopaholic series

The Shopaholic series is one of my favourites (in the chick lit type genre). This may be because i recognise myself in Becky Bloomwood, the heroine, who has, shall we say, a small shopping problem? This is the fourth in the series. You don't have to have read the others, but it would give you a sense of context and a knowledge of the character. To me, watching Becky go through various life stages has made me feel almost as if she is a friend (sad, possibly, but true). Before I veer off totally into cheesy sentimentality, I should also add that there are certain in-jokes, and events in the ... more

'Shopaholic and Sister' is the fourth and last book of the 'Shopaholic' series by Sophie Kinsella. The stories follow Becky Bloomwood, financial journalist turned TV financial expert turned personal shopper, through her money troubles, moving abroad and getting married. Becky Bloomwood has an addiction… to shopping. Storyline/plot: In this latest book we meet up with Becky on her extended honeymoon in Sri Lanka. Becky and Luke have travelled round the world during the 10 months they have been married, seen the sights, relaxed on the beach, yoga on mountain tops, been shopping… A lot. But ssh ... more

    Advantages Advantages unstoppable page turning

Disadvantages Disadvantages finishing it, you just want it to go on and on........

Excellent, Shopaholic and Sisiter is now out in paperback, all those months of waiting since hardback books are soooooo expensive aren’t they. Anyway, after waiting for what seemed an eternity, I finally made my purchase of this book. Since the previous books (The Secret World of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Abroad, Shopaholic Ties the Knot) have all been so excellent there was no doubt I would be making this purchase. Now, I always find the difficult part of a book review is not to spoil it for other readers by giving the entire story line away, so here goes…… The book follows Becky Brandan (nee ... more

So really what can you say? If you've ever read any of the Shopaholics books your'll already know what I'm talking about! These are the kind of books that you can just curl up with, read cry and laugh at the same time and the most of the time leaves you thinking....Thank God i didnt do that /say that / that wasn't me! Advantages Advantages Escapist, easy reading.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very lightweight-not always a bad thing, though!

This is a wonderful sequel to Sophie Kinsellas other "Shopaholic" books, all of which I have read, enjoyed and laughed out loud at. We re-join Becky Bloomwood 10 months after her marriage to Luke Brandon. They are still on honeymoon (isn't it well for some??!) and have made their way around most of the world. Unbeknownst to Luke, Becky, ever the big spender, has been acumulating possesions as they go and having them shipped home to Luke's minimalist flat (won't be for much longer!) They have eventually tired of their alternative, laid-back lifestyle and after Becky receives an invitation to ... more
