    I'm not sure how I got started watching the home television shopping channels but I have been buying things from them for about 4 years now. I have bought from the bid up and price drop channels, QVC and just recently from Ideal World. Ideal World sells everything from craft goods, beauty products, garden tools, jewellery, clothes, shoes and many other great products for use around the home. They broadcast on free-view and paid for cable/satellite subscriptions.     ***What is Ideal World?*** Well its not the place we live in unfortunately, instead it's a shopping channel available on Sky Digital 654 and also on free view and cable. If you cannot access it form any of those sources, them have a look at www.idealworld.tv.     Advantages Advantages Products are well shown in great detail. All relevant health warnings are given and reiterated

    We came across Ideal World whilst channel hopping one day, not long after we had realised that all our favourite presenters had gone off the "Other Channel" (QVC) We were soon hooked and whenever there was nothing else on we could be found watching Ideal World. The range of products is amazing and many of them are much cheaper than you could find in the shops, although we have found that the "current" collectibles (Ty Beanies and Pokemon) can be found cheaper on the net - if you know where to look.     Ideal World feels like the poor relation in terms of shopping channels . I have not seen many others only having access via Freeview but have found that Ideal World has a bit of a 'cheap' shop feel about it . It is located on Freeview channel 22 and can be viewed on-line also . The presenters are a bit of a smarmy bunch . They do not have any charming , natural appeal but rather seem forced and contrived . The channel sells a wide range of goods from clothes to computers to curtains to jewellery and much more .     After 15 years my analogue TV was on its way out, rather than rush into a digital TV at great expense I decided to try a new analogue TV (with scart sockets) and a Phillips free view digital box. Amongst the selection of stations a British digital TV channels Ideal World a shopping channel. I'm hoping to pay for the box with the proceeds from reviews of stations available. Keep you eyes open.     I ordered a memory foam mattress from Ideal World. Just after I had placed the order online I realised it was only 2cm of memory foam and not 2 inches as I thought. It was late at night and it said their customer service lines were open 24 hours so I phoned them on an expensive 0871 number. It took about 15 mins before the line went quiet and I realised no-one was going to answer. I then cancelled by email. Fortunately I decided to call them again next day and they said it was too late to cancel the order, but they would stop the delivery. That was on 19 February 2012 and it took them 4 weeks ... more

    Ok I do work for this satellite shopping channel! But my opinions are totally unbiased, I work in the call centre, dealing with customer services and hotline orders. Ideal World are the big breakfast type show of home shopping channels. They are not trying to be another QVC or Shop, although they have 3 of QVC's presentors, Steve Watley, Paul Lavers, Debbie Flint. This is a fun channel, they try to make it entertaining, as well as trying to sell you the products, they even offer a 90 money back guarantee on their items if you are not happy.     Before this channel was lauched, there was loads of publicity surrounding it, and so I had to watch the channel for the first time. When it first started, I was a great fan, I loved it, even though it wasnt a typical tv channel, seen as it is in fact a shopping channel, I found it to be both entertaining and useful. There are many shopping channels on the air these days, and most of them are pretty much the same, selling the same sort of things, having the same format, that kind of thing, but with this channel, there seemed to be something very different about it.     Until 4 years ago I was a hardened shopaholic and couldn't live without my carrier bags from certain stores. I was then introduced to QVC and was converted and have purchased dozens of branded products from them ever since. I tried Ideal World the first time and bought a halogen oven from them. It was not a branded product and when it arrived it was all scratched and not of good quality so I returned it. BE AWARE IT IS NOT THEIR POLICY TO REFUND POSTAGE COSTS AUTOMATICALLY EVEN WHEN GOODS ARE DAMAGED. YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO CALL THEM AND ASK FOR P&P REFUND. Also when I left negative ... more

    If you are thinking about purchasing from Ideal Shopping World THINK AGAIN - DON'T DO IT. I purchased a Makeover Day for my sister in law for her 50th birthday. It was my first purchase with them - it is my last. After completing my life history to register I made my purchase and was duly welcomed to "The Family" with a confirmation order number and a request to contact Customer Services if I had any queries whatsoever.
