Advantages Advantages Your favourite music? Look around you...

Disadvantages Disadvantages erm... I can't remember them

I have to be honest, as far as I am concerned, this question is a no-brainer. It is not for any sociological reason. Simply, I don't believe it is right to tell people what they can and can't do with their own bodies. If somebody wants to drink themselves to death, or throw themselves out of a plane then its allowed. These are much more dangerous activities yet they are not questioned. Therefore, cannabis isn't illegal for your personal safety. So why is it llegal? If only the individual is affected by the behaviour in a negative way, then I say 'Good Luck to them.' Me & It's Effects Before I ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Health risks - Abuse

Being a habitual smoker is in some respects like belonging to a minority group. Everywhere you go, you’ll encounter different levels of acceptance and ignorance. A decade ago, when my parents first discovered that the “music room” my friends and I had created in their shed actually resembled Howard Marks’ holiday home, it heralded a significant change in our whole relationship. Being a retired Inspector from the Met, you would think my Stepfather could’ve differentiated between sucking on a few bummed low-grade resin spliffs in my back garden, and developing a crack/heroin habit. However, he ... more

Confessions of a Part-Time Doobie DoerI have smoked ganja joints all over the world. I've sampled home grown grass in New York, puffed on pot in St Petersburg, rolled up in Rio, tangoed with Weed in Buenos Aires and collapsed in a car park in Scarborough. Make no mistake about it - the best quality ganja is in the UK. One thing I've noticed on my travels though, is that people's attitude towards cannabis use varies greatly from place to place, as does the attitude towards the drug by the police and political authorities in different countries. Rarely are these attitudes based on the real ... more

Advantages Advantages Stoned is usually better than the sober reality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Might fuck with your mind too much

'Mother of God, I'm stoned' I slur before reaching for the skins and proceeding to roll another fat spliff 'Good shit this'. 'Aye' is the lazy reply from my friend, the Monkey, who is sat across the room with his colouring book, filling its pages with felt-tip images of wacky people against a back drop of what appears to be the lake district. A Fawlty Towers episode is playing on the television. Despite having witnessed Basil's goose stepping a thousand times before, I howl with laughter and light up the newly assembled joint before throwing it over to the artist in the corner of the room ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages government will be lovin' the tax! it's gonna cost more to smoke!

Having read a couple of reviews, I am very disappointed at how misinformed people still are about this little green plant, and disagreed with a lot of the information in other reviews & quite a few comments that are attached to the reviews. I am quite upset that there are still so many close minded people out there today. I smoked heavily between the ages of 17 and 21 (i quit in September 2005), and it really took over my life, so I thought I would put in my 2 cents, let you make your own decision about the drug and see what you all think. I am now 22 years old, and I first started smoking ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages No advisors can agree on effects.

Well my friends I think I may shock a few of you with my views on the particular debate. I guess I'm known more for my gentle nature than one of the 'rebels' of ciao but I was a teenager in the late sixties, early seventies and naturally I belonged to the 'hippy' movement. I was once tempted by the smell of leather and the thrill of motorbikes but somehow biting the heads off chickens didn't really appeal to me, so I donned my bell-bottom jeans wore cheesecloth shirts and listened to such icons as Donavon. Naturally enough I indulged in the smoking of cannabis, known in those days by a variety ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes great, gets you stoned and legalisation is the only logical move

Cannabis has long been a good friend of mind, giving my mates and me many hours of amusement. It can be smoked or eaten, with smoking it giving you a high of a few hours, depending on THC content, and eating it resulting in a longer lasting stronger high. I recall once eating a piece of bud cake, then falling asleep, only to wake up the next morning stoned. This continued for the best part of the next day, which gives you an idea of how much stronger cannabis is when eaten. In order to release the THC it is necessary to cook cannabis up with fat, butter being ideal for the task. Generally ... more

Underneath this is a review I wrote a while ago about my use of cannabis, if you read that you'll see I'm coming from a slightly different slant to the majority of reviews on this site. At the time of writing that review I was at a pretty low ebb and I said I would never write in this debate category, but my head's sorted now and I think I can put my views across without becoming hysterical. So, should cannabis be legalised? Bloody right it should. It should be legalised in all it's many shapes and forms, production should be monitored and (most importantly) the dealers should be put out of ... more

This review has been removed. I cannot begin to pretend to make any kind of informed judgement on this issue. Unfortunately, the website won't let me remove the article altogether, so I now have to write at least one hundred and twenty words of utter rubbish. I actually think that most of my reviews on here are nonsense. That is the benefit of hindsight, I guess. Aging gracefully allows you to change your opinion on just about anything and if you move city and reinvent yourself, it makes the whole process a little easier. I don't think I will be back on here. I don't actually have that much to ... more

Discursive Essay Cannabis is a subject that people hold strongly contrasting views towards. There are strong points both for and against it, which I will be taking into consideration in this essay. I will compare these points and ask 'should cannabis be legalised?' In 1971 Cannabis was reclassified by parliament and became a schedule 1 drug. This means that it was viewed as having no medicinal value. In 2002, Cannabis was reclassified again as a Class C drug meaning that it is seen as less harmful in comparison to other drugs such as Cocaine and Heroin. This is reflected in the way offenders ... more
