    Advantages Advantages Absolutely none!!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Barbaric!!!!!!! No use whatsoever

I have to point out firstly that I've chosen to write this review before reading others...I don't want to or mean to offend others, so please please see this as my opinion only...everyone has the right to that... My opinion is based first hand on 'Fox Hunting'...I'm a Police Officer and have been part of a public order unit that has regularly been called to police fox hunts...to protect the hunt from saboteurs (Sabs)... I have to tell you that whenever I got given this duty my heart always sank...and I took it purely for the fact that I had to...if I could’ve refused it, I would of! My first ... more

Advantages Advantages foxhunting should continue under strict licence only

Disadvantages Disadvantages if foxhunting is banned, inexpert farmers will cull foxes themselves causing the wounded fox to suffer for hours if not days

The red fox has been important in Great Britain during the last 250 years owing to its popularity as a beast of the chase. It has been classed as vermin, a small, fierce animal preying on other animals. The fox is a skilful and ruthless night hunter, sleeping by day on a bed of bracken, pine needles or grass, or below ground in the original burrow of another animal. His cunning, speed, condition, and endurance can tax the physique and patience of his pursuers to the utmost. He is too fast to be coursed in sight, and is hunted by scent, which varies with temperature, climate and soil ... more

Advantages Advantages A DIFFERENT ASPECT ON FOX HUNTS TO BE CONSIDERED

Disadvantages Disadvantages POSSIBLY NOT INTERESTING TO ALL.

FOX HUNTING IN ALL ITS GLORY …OR NOT. YES for the HUNT but at what PRICE??? As a collector of antiques, I would like to say on behalf of the hunt I actually do very well from collectables and pictures. Anyone interested in Fox hunting is always overjoyed at being presented with A beer mug, wine glasses, table mats, pictures and many more such gifts found in the car boot sales and antique fairs. BUT…..as an anti-fox hunting person I also see the other side of the coin…..Having lived on a farm for the last ten years, right next door to where the Hunt regularly meet as a base for their start off ... more

Advantages Advantages Are a group of toffs called toffies?

Disadvantages Disadvantages I accidentally left one fact in - can you find it?

I’ve decided to provide a rational look at fox-hunting, by breaking my psyche down into two separate characters, one who is for fox hunting, and one who is against fox hunting, so that each can have a chance to give their viewpoint for you on this contagious subject (surely controversial? - Ed). On the side of fox hunting is Duncan Bramley-Wilson Phipps III, heir to the Bramley Wilson Phipps I empire, and against will be Romana “Tulip-Petal” Florentina, who lives in a treehouse. This promises to be a fascinating and in no way generalised and callous look at things. “Fox Hunting Is Tip Top!” by ... more

Have you ever stopped to realise that we are living in the 21st century now? Having advanced two whole millennia you’d have thought we’d have become more civilised as a human race. Well, let’s face it we have. We have classical music courtesy of Classic FM or Radio 3 if you prefer the more obscure stuff; we have classical literature like Bronte and Dickens; we have Paris in Springtime with it’s wonderful architecture and aute cuisine and we have Desmond Lynam on a Saturday night. Erm…well one of those is out of place (I’ve never really been THAT keen on Paris). And yet every day a seal will ... more

Advantages Advantages Controls fox population, a 'sport' for many

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Inhumane

This was originally written as a speech for my english gsce coursework. My side of the argument was decided for me, pro hunting, but given the choice i would not specifically write for either side. ------- Fox hunting. A country side tradition, a lively hood for many and a way to control the fox population. How else are we to manage them? Gassing, trapping, shooting? There are no legal poisons or gasses available for fox control in the UK, and such methods invariably end up killing the wrong species. Trapping and shooting distress the foxes as they have a low success rate along with them not ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Increase in civil unrest

This is a debate about perception rather than actuality. The hunting saga goes back in time a very long way. This is NOT a recent development, despite what anybody else has to say about it. William the conqueror promised his barons large new hunting preserves if they joined him in the conquest of these isles. Thus the hunting became the preserve of the ruling class. Various game laws have been introduced over the years that have been designed to protect this privilege. These served to reinforce the perception that hunting was the preserve of the ruling class. Poaching was to be discouraged as a ... more

    Advantages Advantages none at all

Disadvantages Disadvantages barbaric, useless, a waste of time, I could go on

Oh people know me, they know me only too well - if they don’t know that I’m anti-hunting then to be honest they don‘t know me at all, and well I still think they’re going to know what to expect from this opinion - it wasn’t wrote for money, or to make pro-hunters blood boil, simply a look at why I feel this ban HAS to go through. Anyone who’s ever spoke to me will know that I’m one of these people who believe in equal rights for all animals, that’s why I’m vegetarian, that’s why as daft as it sounds I don’t even kill insects, we were all put on this world for a reason and all that, but to me ... more

Advantages Advantages Majority want a ban, Extinguish Cruelty.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rural communities are affected

The future of hunting with dogs has been a hot potato since Labour promised to ban hunting when it swept to power five years ago. Hunting enthusiasts and campaigners against blood sports have had bitter clashes as repeated attempts to resolve the issue have failed due to an impasse between the anti-hunting Commons and pro-hunting Lords. But matters may finally be coming to a head following a three day public hearing organised by the Countryside Alliance, the campaign for the Protection of Hunted Animals (CPHA) and the Middle Way Group. Our Rural Affairs Minister has recently said new proposals ... more

As I'm a vegetarian, and avid protester against animal cruelty, I think you can guess which viewpoint this review will be backing. However, I will try to list some of the protests fox-hunters make (and show you why these protests are so wrong) For those of you who are unaware of some of the details surrounding fox-hunting, I'll do my best to fill you win. Fox hunting is an activity involving the tracking, chase, and usually the killing of a fox, by trained foxhounds or other scent hounds, followed by a group of people on horseback, led by a master of foxhounds. This 'sport' originated in Great ... more
