Advantages: Addictive classic strategy game for the DS Disadvantages: Not quite as many options as even version 2 on the PC
Sid Meier's classic Civilization game is brilliant on the DS. It is quite different though - it doesn't offer you all the same options you get when you play it on the PC (or even Amiga!) but it is still very good. Do give it some time. For those totally unfamiliar with the game, this is a board game style game a little like Risk. You start with an unknown world and a couple of characters and you start building one or two towns. Your knowledge is ... ...people or settlers to ward off your enemies. As you grow, your knowledge increases and you can then build more advanced things like market places and libraries, which increase your trade and knowledge, and therefore allow you to create more advanced armies etc. It's very much a parallel of how real empires have developed - starting with very little, and then developing their knowledge in order to take over the world in one way or another.
