M35i small, sturdy and YELLOW

Advantages: Sturdy, built in aerial, good features, WAP, good sound quality.
Disadvantages: Keylock can not always stop keys from being pressed and the power button is a bit small.

Siemens M35i Recently I decided that the time had come to join the mobile phone revolution. I have not really needed a phone before, but as I am now driving, I think that a phone with me in the car is a good idea for if I breakdown or for in emergencies. Also at work I never know what I am doing from one day to the next, so I need a phone to let my family know where I am and when I will be back and also to communicate with my employer. I looked ...
...The bright yellow Siemens M35i stood out as it was not only different but cheap too compared to the competition, at £69.99. It was on the One 2 One (Now T-Mobile) network and the call charges seemed reasonable. The One 2 One network charged 30p a minute for the first two minutes of the day and after you'd used those two minutes each day the charge dropped to 5p a minute to normal landlines and other One 2 One mobiles. I am uncertain of the new T-Mobile ...

A lovable handset

Advantages: ecellent performer, indestructable, cheap!
Disadvantages: quite old and "brick like"

...handset. Functionality: The Siemens m35i is an extremely user friendly handset. The phone's interface is quick and easy to navigate, and changing settings is not a complicated process. Making and receiving calls with this handset is also an extremely simple process - you simply find the person you want to call and press the green (telephone)key. One thing which particularly impressed me about the m35i at the time was the sound quality of the phonecalls ...
...Apart from just functionality, the Siemens m35i is also an extremely sensible and practical handset. Despite the fact that the handset is never going to stand out or impress anyone nowadays, there are a number of areas in which the phone really comes into its own. Firstly, the fact that the phone is water resistant is an excellent feature - I never had to worry about making a call outside when it was raining, and I could even take the handset into ...

How good is the Siemens M35

Advantages: Looks, size, WAP, shock, dust and water resistance.
Disadvantages: Version 5, and inserting the SIM.

I brought the M35i last summer, almost as soon as it had been made available on Virgin Mobile. I was upgrading my then Philips Savvy to something a little newer. The first thing that appealed to me, was it's looks. The M35i is a gorgeous little phone. It is apparently shock and water and dust resistant. Making claims like that is fine, cos it's not as if anyone is going to test them! Seriously though, I go to a boarding school and it's survived ...
...mates phones have to be honest, except a Nokia 8210... It certainly feels the part - heavy, 'rubberised', and it has a solid feel unlike some relatively small phones. The M35i allows you to program in your own ring tune, although only one user created tune can be stored at anyone time. Programming these is rather time consuming, as you can not just send them over your network. You can change opperator logos, although you will need a data cable, costing ...

Advantages: Small,light ,packed full of functions,well made,indestructible
Disadvantages: none

I got my siemens M35i about a month ago as virgin were running a special price promotion on their web site.It was knocked down from £99.99 to £59.99 for one month only and must of been a great success as they sold out of this phone within 10 days. This price included one years comprehensive insurance and a free headset The phone is wap enabled and is one of the smallest wap phones you can get ,small is good as you dont want a great big bulge in your ...

Sturdy little mover

Advantages: sturdy, withstands clumsiness, without foregoing features.
Disadvantages: small screen

The Siemens M35i is a compact little phone. Slightly sturdier than some, this is it's 'unique' selling point, in a packed market, being waterproof and drop-proof (and I've tried this out many times.. dropping mobile phones being one of my more esoteric hobbies!). I bought it to replace a 3210, a decision I don't regret for a moment. As for the features, it has the usual things one would expect from a phone. A 100 number address book, a calculator, ...

There are four games, and these are one of the more disappointing aspects, because they are all too difficult ...

Great little buddy

Advantages: small, lightweight and very efficient
Disadvantages: not the cheapest phone around and difficult to get the hang of

...to buy I chose the Siemens M35. It’s a slim and compact phone, which is fairly lightweight and is very durable. This phone is quite difficult to get the hang of but once you get to grips with it, it is a great phone. The phone does have a ‘usage hints’ throughout the menu though which can help, particularly when you are just getting started. However because of the potential difficulty in getting started I would not recommend it ...

When text messaging there is a bombardment of options of how to send it which can seem daunting, but it does mean that the phone can be used for an array of different things i.e. faxing. It is also good for the business person as it has a conference feature meaning you can speak to a number of people at the same time, which is great if you always seem to be on the go. If this sounds like ...

Audio quality was good, even though there was a constant background noise. ...yet big in capabilities, the Siemens M35 is one of the best mobiles I’ve come across in a long time. The Siemens M35 is very durable, small and full of features; I don’t know where to begin. ...Battery life on the Siemens M35 seems to be fairly poor but I don’t know the exact battery life of it, I’ve not checked. The phone itself has 100 slots for adding phone numbers so usually depending on the sim card you have, you can have about 200 names and numbers in your phone book, you can even set calling symbols, So for example one friend when they ring could show up with a picture of a pig or a star or even a pre-pictured face. ...

Where's my ring tone !!!

Advantages: Small, feature rich and a good battery life
Disadvantages: No normal ring tone, screen not exactly large compared with other WAP phones

Do you know the most annoying thing about this phone. There is not one of the ring tones that actually sounds like a phone ringing! If you want to be one of those annoying people who like to be alerted that someone is trying to get hold of them by making their phone sing a couple of bars of The 1812 Oveture then you'll be laughing, but if you're one of those old fashioned people who like a phone to sound like a phone, you'll have to compose your ...

Siemens M35I - Value for money

Advantages: Nice Size, Light, WAP Functions
Disadvantages: Some Functions take some getting used to

...ago with the WAP enabled Siemens M35i I must admit I havent used the phones full functionality, even now - the WAP system takes a little getting used to, and without free WAP minutes from the service provider, puts you off exploring and understanding WAP. In any event, the small screen means that very few pages can easily be read. The Texting system, unless you are used to it can be very confusing and annoying - it uses the auto text function ...
...Being an old fuddy duddy (in the fast moving technlogy world, anyway) of 40, I gave up and removed the auto text function. This means it takes longer to type things, but in my eyes, is easier to cope with. The address book for the phone is easily accessible, being a key on the top left of the phone, as is the Voicemail function, located just below this key. The Keypad lock is straightforward, although I have found it slightly annoying that you ...

Advantages: Small, light, WAP, 4 games, the works!
Disadvantages: £120!

...The new sexy sturdy Siemens m35i really does have it all. The phone was released in mid august and i wouldnt be surprised if it became a leader in the market. The only problem is that you can only buy it on the virgin network - which is a good network though! The phone has 4 games - minesweeper, othello, connect 4 and a 3d maze game. There are 21 ring tones to choose from and you can even create your own using your keypad. If you are in a noisy place, ...

Good choice if you're sick of endless Nokias

Advantages: Rugged. nice rubbery buttons, not the norm
Disadvantages: Can't get all the ringtones etc

The first thing I noticed when I compared this mobile to my dad's Nokia 3310 is the solidness of it. And by solid, I don't mean brick-like. The phone is compact but you can feel that it's well put together. It isn't going to come apart in a hurry. The seams in the plastic don't give or creak if you try to twist or squeeze the phone. It feels far more reassuringly put together than those with changeable covers, which creak and give like crazy if you ...
...that it's splash proof. I don't know about any of you, but I didn't really want to test this theory on my mobile. Nevertheless, I was often caught out in the rain with the phone and it never suffered any damage from getting rained on. The buttons on the phone have a nice rubbery feel and are well spaced so that you don't catch other buttons by accident while writing text messages. This was the first mobile I got with predictive text and I was very ...

...a few people who've had Siemens phones previously, including myself, and they're good solid reliable phones. Aesthetics are pleasing - it looks good. Nice to hold, well styled, and not too many buttons.
