...other reviews will know, the Siemens MC60 is the 4th phone in my collection of 6 in the last 3 years.
While shopping in my home town of Swansea last year, out of the blue I decided I wanted a camera phone. I ventured to many different phone shops that day and eventually ended up in The Link, where a sales assistant immediately pounced on me.
'Can I help you?' he asked. 'No thanks' I said, feeling a little under pressure. 'I've already decided. ... ...a camera phone.
The Siemens MC60 is not a bad little phone but I found it took a long time to load anything. I'm not sure if this was caused by my network(T-mobile) or the memory on the phone but it was always a long wait before I got to see my pictures or texts. All you see is LOADING.......

Advantages: Great design... fab keypad Disadvantages: Bit like relatives you never see in that it keeps forgetting my name!
I've had this great little phone for just over 2 years now and I still love it... it might not be top of range any more (not sure it ever was to tell the truth) but if you're not too bothered about all the gadgets that the latest mobiles have and just need something that's easy to use but still pretty stylish then this is a good one to look at.
Some basic info...
Dimensions - 109 x 46 x 21 mm - it's not a brick, but neither is it so small you can't ... ...86g - fairly light.
Talk time - up to 300 min
Standby time - up to 250 hours - My phone is now 2 years old but the battery is still great and only usually needs charging about 3 times a fortnight so is still able to manage this.
Display - 4096 colours, 7 lines, 101x80 pixels - ok, so its not great resolution, but as long as you're not banking on taking award winning pictures its fine.
Built in camera - this is a nice extra but I would definitely ...

Advantages: Plenty of features in a versatile package Disadvantages: Poor design in places, buyers may expect to much
...packed phone like all models Siemens seem to produce. Although the one thing which seems to be lacking from this particular Siemens handset is Quality.
By design Siemens do not make many bad handsets. But this handset is lacking compared to others introduced by the company in the past and present. If your a new to Siemens then the differences may not be apparent. If your familiar to Siemens phones the Navigation and Interface is similar to previous ... ...definitely scores highly.
Where Siemens really slipped up was in the way things work. I my opinion through using the phone for the last 5 months functions work correctly but not as quick as you’d expect. Let me give you a few examples of were frustration will soon set in. Java: The range of titles are vast, maybe not as many as other phone manufacturers, but there is a good selection if you look hard enough. The frustration comes when you ...

Advantages: good looks, ergonomical, light weight Disadvantages: camera quality is poor, lack of features
...years ago I received the Siemens MC60, this was after much persuasion on my part as I suddenly desired a camera phone. I know you should never find out how much somebody spent on a present for you but I did, it was £79.99!! This may sound expensive but this was 2 years ago last Christmas. I think the phone was relatively new at that time.
The Siemens MC60 is a good phone if you are using it primarily for phone calls. By this I mean that it isn't ... ...crisp, clear reception as the Siemens MC60. RECEPTION EXCELLENT!! :D
I found that after charging the phone, which usually took 30-40 minutes to charge fully, that its battery life died fairly soon. I would say that with a full battery, constant use and turning the phone off, it would last maybe 12 hours!! BATTERY LIFE RUBBISH!
Also, just incase anyone was wondering why I didn't mention this, the package includes the charger and so the battery life ...

Advantages: GOOD RECEPTION Disadvantages: POOR QUALITY, LACK OF DOWNLOADS ETC
...download a small application from Siemens to enable you to make messages on your computer before downloading them. - Camera - there's a small camera in the back of the phone that can be activated by clicking 5. Now, I've been to the Siemens website and they show a picture of two girls taking their photo with the MC60 camera and you can see the image produced on the screen - good and clear and picture like. So, advertising puffs aside, I was expecting ... ...a serial cable (£29.99 from Siemens on-line shop). Personally I find some of the keys a little difficult to use, even though I've got small fingers I find myself using my nails to dial. Sound is excellent in this model, I can't fault Siemens on this point at all, you don't need to hold the phone to your ear to hear it as the on board loudspeaker is excellent. One very good feature of the phone is that it should be impossible to turn it on accidently, ...

Advantages: cheap, stylish, lots of modern features Disadvantages: That Titanium is actually plastic!
If Swatch ever made a mobile phone, it would be the MC60. It's a funky handful of a phone that looks good and yet unusual, has all of the features that a state of the art handset should have, and has a colour screen and a built in camera - all for under £100.
The MC60 isn't a little flip phone and is a centimetre longer than the Nokia 8210, but it does have a built in aerial, so no more torn trouser pockets. It is very light - 85g or so - and that's ... ...the brushed metallic titanium the pictures show. Personally, I don't mind that....if you're as clumsy as I am and drop phones in carparks or on the pavement, it will survive the bounce and it won't be scratched afterwards. A plus point.
The keys, arranged in a distinctive X pattern, take a couple of calls to get used to but soon feel relatively natural. The colour screen is big but not the biggest on the market; not as big as the Samsung T100 or ...

Advantages: Looks good, Low price, lots of useful features. Disadvantages: Poor quality camera, fiddly buttons to start with.
I'll be honest. I've been through a lot of phones in my time, and I often go by things like what they look like, and gimmicky features such as cameras and colour screens. There was no exception in this case :-)
I work in my local argos store at the weekends and often find myself with not much else to do other than browse the calalogues. Anyway this phone caught my eye because of the three things I (and I'm sure, many other people)normally look for ... ...If I'd looked closer at the description, I probably would have discovered that the phone also has features such as:
>An MMS Capability - This means that you can take and send photos from your mobile.
>Polyphonic ringtones - Loud annoying tunes you hear on the train, which alert you that your phone needs to be answered (or turned off, depending on whos calling.)
>Triband functionality - I did not know this at the time, but this means that the phone ...

Advantages: lightweight, stylish, good value for money. Disadvantages: Only available on T-Mobile, as far as I'm aware.
The Siemens MC60 has to be one of the more stylish phones that have appeared in recent years; it has a distinctive swirling X motif on the front, and the circular keypad, once you become accustomed to using it, gives it a rather unique appearance that can be customised via a range of CLIP-IT covers which are now readily available. The body, weighing only 86g with battery, is rounded and fits quite ergonomically into your hand, the antenna cleverly ... ...clean lines. This is certainly a phone for style-conscious trend setters who like to turn heads.
But there's more to a phone than style alone, and for its RRP of £100 (T-Mobile pay as you go) it boasts a lot of features; colour screen, polyphonic ringtones, GPRS, integrated camera, tri-band capability, vibrator alert, MMS and EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service, for short video clips and sound), keypad lock, conference calling, call forwarding, call ...

Advantages: Great price, easy to use, nice design, improved siemens keyboard Disadvantages: can't play mp3, low quality pic preview... but hey, not huge memory
...I would never buy a siemens again... but thanks god they realized how inconvenient it was so they changed it! In my previous mobile (A 50) the button to end up a comunication was the same one to erase the characters in SMS: therefore; if you received a phone call while you were writing you cut it accidentally.
Now: MC60. They have changed this, the keyboard is excelent, I love the X shaped design, is even more convenient than normal ones to write ... ...dial the numbers or to do certain functions. You can record your own ringtone (although you have to save it before listening to it, otherwise you won't hear anything)
The phonebook is the usual stuff plus space to put email adresses, it has a calendar, and what's great is WAP access to the internet via GPRS: before I didn't use wap because it was slow, but now you can check your emails, visit webpages and even log on to MSN messenger and chat with ...

Advantages: Sturdy phone, keeps its charge, funky looking Disadvantages: Often crashes, slow processing information
My MC60 has been reliable for over a year. It still looks stylish, with its original silver and grey casing, and shows hardly any signs of wear. However, it still has the same problem that it had when I first purchased it. It's just too complicated for its own good. As one of the first colour screened camera phones avaliable on the lower end of the price market it has to work out some complicated calculations and I have become very used to staring ... ...doing nothing. Often even asking it to view a message produces this panicked response.
The camera is usable, but very poor quality. However, the phone was very cheap and very few phones of this class had a camera at all when it first appeared on the market. It also has a bug where, if the photos are viewed too often, it states that the memory is full or not avaliable and the whole phone must be turned off and then on again in order to view the pictures.

The mc 60 is quite a small nifty little phone. It is going to cost you about £70 and i myself would say it is maybe a bit over priced. It does have its ups and downs just like any other phone but after using the phone for a number of months overall i would not recommend anyone to buy it.
The phone does have a good appearnce, has a nice look,it is quite small and trendy looking. It has a camera built in,abilty to send/recieve picture messages,a microphone ... ...which charges quite quickly too, organiser with reminders, stop watch, internet,a fun photo editor which lets you add fake mushtash glases etc(poor quality, hard to use) and one built in game.
Now onto the bad points about the phone. In my experience the phone is flimsy and easy to break in parts, ive only had mine a matter of months and the back is now stuck on with selo tape after snapping in my pocket. The camera is very low quality and blurry. Alot ...

Advantages: looks Disadvantages: Just about everything
I boguht this phone in January of 2004, as a replacement of my 3310. I boguht it becasue it was cheap and good looking. BIG mistake. This phone is one of the worst I've seen out of every phone I and my friends have had. The numbers arranged in a circle seem good at first but after a while they just get annoying, especially when texting. The screen is nowhere near as clear as they make you believe in the picures. The colour schemes that are available ... ...generally a useless feature on a phone becasue of the poor selection of pages.
The camera is incredibly poor, even for when it came out. The resolution is poor and you cannot zoom, or anthing. The only thing you can do to make the picture a tiny bit better is to increase the light setting. I basically hate this phone and would say to anyone: DO NOT BUY IT. It is a waste of moeny, no matter how cheap it is. It is also not a very good size, too small ...

Advantages: Polyphonic ringtones, Intergrated camera and Colour screen Disadvantages: The standard of pictures you can get on the camera.
The Siemens MC60 is a lot better than other Siemen phones. The only downside to this phone is the integrated camera. You can have good pictures, but when you try to take a picture in the dark, you have to have the right lighting. Also when you want to take a detailed photograph you have to get really close to the object that you want to capture. The design for this phone is really good. It has a X shape, which fits in really well with the shape of ... ...useful for you to. So if you have got a spare couple of notes in your pocket and you need a new phone, then buy the Siemens MC60. Advantages: fairly simple to use, colour screen, camera, polyphonic ringtones, decent text messaging service, Disadvantages: slow, tends to freeze, poor picture messaging, camera is not the best
i bought the phone on a pay monthly contract with 'Fresh' , purely because they had the cheapest tariff! the exterior of the phone is not the prettiest and is quite a masculine phone but the keypad is very stylish.
I was easily impressed by the features when shown in the magazines but when i received it, i was quite disappointed. I tried out the camera in my kitchen and the picture quality was poor, but it improved when i went outside.
the ringtones ... ...high notes in the tone and fail miserably!) but of a much higher quality. The messaging service is the highlight of the phone:you can add moving cartoon faces showing different expressions eg. sad, happy , blushing etc and also sounds. The message sending has never failed which is quite remarkable. if you are looking for an easy to use phone with a simple integrated camera and are not bothered much about the perfect quality this is the phone for ...
