Advantages Advantages Small phone with a big screen, packed with useful features, impresses your sad mates no end.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None noted

I upgraded to my Siemens S35 by accident. I had no intention of upgrading at all, only my S25 had gone home in a dramatic way, and after 4 weeks with no sign of the phone coming back from repair, the nice lady at the Putney Vodafone shop got onto the powers that be on my behalf, got me the upgrade at no cost, waived the insurance excess, patted me on the head and sent me packing, clutching the dinky little S35 and wearing a big smile. (Three cheers for Vanessa at Vodafone Putney…hip, hip etc) I fell in love with the phone as soon as it came out of the box. Nice big buttons for fat ... more

    Advantages Advantages Not a lot

Disadvantages Disadvantages Read my whole opinion!

~ ~ I changed my mobile phone about four months ago from a Nokia 3210 to the Siemens s35i. I have to be honest and say that I didn’t change because I was unhappy in any way with the old Nokia, but simply because my service provider, Eircell, offer their customers an automatic upgrade every year or so. ~ ~ Not being one to pass by a bargain, I thus found myself sniffing around the “Carphone Warehouse” and other mobile phone retailers. (see my opinion, PLUG, PLUG) I eventually ended up buying the Siemens for £79. (Irish Punts, minus approx. 20% for Sterling) I was offered a ... more

Advantages Advantages Highly customisable, wide range of functions, amazing durability

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can only program one ring tone, vibrate is a little weak, not a good range of accesories

Essentially, when one buys a mobile phone in the UK, one really does have a limited choice. I find this hard to accept when we are told that Britain has one of the highest mobile phone ownership in the world. I’m a fussy man and since getting my first phone in 1998 I’ve been the owner and regular user of 5 different makes of mobile phone and in terms of practicality (general making and receiving of calls) I’d have to say that the Ericsson T-18 handles it best. It doesn’t however have enough ‘buttons’ for me, if you catch what I mean. Which is why I’m now the proud owner of a Siemens S35i. If I ... more

Advantages Advantages It's better than a Nokia

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NONE

You can now get this phone for free! WOW. I got my phone only 2 days ago and I will not be sending it back, that’s for sure. The Siemens S35i is available on all the networks (contract) and you can also get it on pre-pay with Virgin (£190). The new Siemens phones are much improved. The interface looks far better than any Nokia but is harder to get use too. The phone is a perfect size and is very light; the screen is huge which makes it a great WAP phone. Voice dialling, T9 text input, WAP, 4 great games and a ringtone composer are just some of the features. The phone has lots of useful ... more

    Advantages Advantages potentially useful service

    Disadvantages Disadvantages too fiddly

The Siemens S35i is a truly excellent phone, and has everything that you could need and more. If anything WAP is the weak link, not in terms that the phone's WAP performance is disappointing, but in terms that WAP is a poor service in comparison with a lot of offerings on mobiles. At the mobile some operators do comparable SMS based services, something which I have discovered from experimenting with my S35i. I find that WAP is almost superfluous as a feature, as it is not a great deal cheaper than calling if you are certain tariffs, and it doesn't really do the phones justice. GPRS will change ... more

Advantages Advantages survived being trod on (practically jumped on), WAP, shockproof, water resistant

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wap not too advanced yet

I borrowed this phone for a weekend and the quality of it is amazing. It claims to be shockproof, water resistant and all that other stuff that make me turn round and say 'wow...boring' Well this phone survived a whole weekend with me at a festival so it wins my vote. The S35i is a small lightweight phone with wap capabilities and text messaging to die for. When i first used the phone i was a little confused. The phone has a function when your typing text messages to guess what word you're trying to write and fill it straight away, Imagine the horror on my face as this phone wrote words i ... more

Advantages Advantages Compact, feature-packed, slick, fast charging

Disadvantages Disadvantages A few dud ringtones

After two and a half years of using Nokia Handsets, I went for an S35i because I liked the look, but more importantly because of the special offer whereby I got one for a mere £22 (ATS499) although this was on a contract and network locked to Connect One Austria. The S35i appealed not because of its WAP capability, but because of its dimensions, features and looks. It had everything I could want from a phone (as well as WAP) and is light and compact to boot. As someone who had been used to Nokias it took a little while to get usd to the menu layout, and the features, but this is by no means a ... more

Advantages Advantages Loads of features in a nice little package

Disadvantages Disadvantages The WAP service overall is not brilliant so don't expect wonders

I wanted an upgrade to my current Nokia Nk402 on Orange to this phone on VirginMobile. I had my eye on it for about 6 months and went and bought it yesterday. It is the best phone that I have bought in 2 years and is the height of technology with everything but an MP3 player in it. It is a phone + modem + PDA .... all in one and I think it is pretty good value for money considering that the Motorola v.3690 is the same price. It gives a lot of street cred and being so small as well, it is brilliant for putting in your top pocket. It has a vibrate feature and you can even set up your own ... more

Advantages Advantages small and very easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages can't put it down!

The S35i weighs in at only 99g and measures 118(h) x 46(w) x 21(d)mm. It is a really easy phone to use. The ‘smart keys’ change their function according to the mode the phone is in. There is a large button on on the the keypad that initiates calls. On either side of it are smaller buttons that end calls and access the phonebook. The main feature of this phone is WAP. My favourite feature is up to 20 frequently dialled numbers that can be dialled via voice recognition, excellent. There’s also an in-built recorder which will store up to 20 seconds of speech. The SMS system benefits from T9, it ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, lots of functions, vibrate, good battery, no antenna.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No changeable fronts

I have had the Siemens S35i WAP Handy since October 2000, and I have found it to be really good. I got it on a special offer of 499 Schillings here in Vienna, when I signed up to One. The games are a lot better than on the Nokia's, with Reversi, WayOut, and Quattropoli, but I do miss Snake! It has so many functions, I can't say where to start. To my mind there are very few phones that are this small and better. I always have good reception even in the U-Bahn, and the Vibrateing Battery means I can turn the ringtone off. The ringtones can be programed, but this is more difficult than say on ... more
