The Wie Siemen Beastie

Advantages: Small, light, fun, loads of functions, just genral genuis
Disadvantages: Dunno!

Shortly after my Panasonic phone decided that it was going to stop working, I decided that I needed a new phone. Id been wanting a new phone for a thew months but now that my one was broken(by no fault of my own) I actually had an excuse to treat myself to a nice new mobile. I decided I wanted a SL55 so searched the shops and after finding the best price to be £200 I looked on eBay, where I then got my phone! The phone itself is absolutely tiny, ...
...was one of the first phones to incorporate this function. The phones shape is very nice and it is so light that you really can forget that you have It with you. The screen is a fair size and the five buttons on the front of the phone allow you to fully navigate without sliding the keypad down. When purchasing your phone you can decide between two colours, charcoal or ruby. Myn is ruby and it illuminates beautifully with the white LED’s of the phone ...

My love affair with the Siemen’s SL55

Advantages: Stylish, compact, packed with features.
Disadvantages: Texting can be a little difficult at first.

“I Will Fly you to the moon and back if you’ll be, if you’ll be my baby”. My dirty old Nokia 3310 was past its sell-by-date years ago so I have to admit to getting ridiculously over excited at the prospect of a new phone. So many decisions to be made. Colour, polyphonic ringtones, games, and camera, one of those flip clamshell types or a standard Nokia style? Given my self-imposed budget of £60 surely I had given myself little leeway regarding the ...
...dididave obsession with bargain hunting. It is rare that I pay full price for anything and as such revel in the underground culture that is the boot sale, charity shop and online auction world. Trawling through the Internet back alleys in search of my next gadget I came across the Siemen’s SL55. This little beauty retails at £129 but can be found on ebay for as little as £55. This phone is all about the look. It is the ultimate in compact and sexy. ...

My phone is a fashion accessory!

Advantages: Super stylish phone! Want to look good? Just whip it out!
Disadvantages: Easy to scratch, cannot find a case for it.

...I have owned many Siemens phones, even the earlier model of this sliding design, and have not had a single problem with them yet. I have also owned motorola phones and Sony phones (I will NOT touch a Nokia phone as long as I live) and have been dissatisfied with them, so I came straight back to Siemens. Even though the phone is small it feels very sturdy and solid. Most small phones feel like they will snap if you put too much pressure on them, ...
...copes with the heavy weights and sparks and metal dust that I subject it to. The buttons are nicely raised allowing you to easily distinguish which buttons you are pressing without even looking (ideal for texting while driving - which I would never do of course). The screen is of a fair size and has a very helpful display system with the 2 function buttons on each side of the bottom of the screen allowing easy access to many functions saving time ...

The phone for your worst enemy

Advantages: Small, looks cute
Disadvantages: How long have you got???????

...Also, whoever thought at Siemens that it was a good idea to have the 1 key as a space key and the zero key as the full stop and other symbol key...well, get a grip. Every other phone manufacturer as far as I know has it the other ways round. I was forever putting in full stops instead of spaces when typing out texts! The sliding mechanism is simply horrible. I have tried the slides on the Samsung E600 and E800 - smooth as silk quality engineering. ...
...of the phone wobble around a little - it is just poor. Sound quality and phone reception - poor. I live about 500 years from a mast. On the 2 Samsungs and 1 Nokia I have had, the reception meter aways showed 100%. On the SL55 it mostly showed 50%. No idea why. Reception while using the phone seemed to be poor wherever you were. It has polyphonic sound, but it is very fuzzy compared to other poly phones I have heard. The menu system was a little ...

Advantages: Looks gorgeous and is so small!

...this time I saw the Siemens SL55 and simply wanted it. Because I am not really a technical hero, the looks did it for me to be honest. Looks: You can get this tiny beauty (length x width x height = 81.6 x 44.5 x 21.9 mm) in titan and rubin. It slides open and reveals the keyboard. At the beginning I had to get used to it, as the keyboard is different from a Nokia one. After you get the hang of it, it is easy to use. It has a colour screen, which ...
...no problem. I dropped my Siemens one and bang, black screen. Nothing I could do about it, so I took it to a technician. Guess what they told me - it is possible that they cannot fix it! I would have lost all my numbers! Luckily they were able to fix it, but I recommend that you save your numbers somewhere else, just in case. The battery could last longer and sometimes the phone crashes and you have to wait before you can do anything. When you start ...

The phone comes in two colours in titan or ruby red. This was so that i wouldnt have to get a newer phone in just a few months time. The Siemens SL55, For all Anti-Bulk mobile lovers

Advantages: Small and Easy to use.
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly to use and expensive

...decided to buy an SL55 Siemens mobile because of its size. I hate heavy bulky phones that take up all the room in my bag so the SL55 was the way to go. My budget was a little on the small size so I looked up E-Bay and found a refurbished model for £57.00. After a couple of days the phone died on me, so thanks to the dodgy person who sold me the phone, as I’m sure they knew it was broken. I have now learnt a valuable E-Bay lesson. Buy with ...

Anyway, I’m going to discuss the use of the phone, as I did like using it for the time that it worked. The Exterior: My SL55 is grey and Red. The colour is different to the normal black and silver so I found it eye catching. It’s a very small phone. The dimensions are approximately 80x50x35mm when closed. It’s ...

Advantages: Small, good looking, handsfree speaker
Disadvantages: Poor battery power, scratches easily

Brought the Siemens SL55 from T-mobile at the begining of February for a very good deal. The price of the phone in a tmobile store is £139.99. T-mobile had offered me £50 off any phone if i continued my contract for another year, which made the price £89.99. I looked on the t-mobile web site and found i could get the phone for £69.99 if i broke my contract and took up a new one!! I phoned up customer services and explained this to them, and they ...

It's a like a little pet mouse.

Advantages: Compact
Disadvantages: Too small for large handed people

...when I first saw the Siemens SL55 sat in the palm of my friend’s hand – not because the friend was cute, oh no, but because the phone was so tiny and cute and yes, sexy! Now I had been using a Nokia 8310 for over a year and although it to was cute and small and fitted in my pocket and handbag without a problem I was bored of it and decided I was going to change – what a change it was. I spent an age searching around the internet trying to find ...
...you guessed it; my FREE Siemens SL55. The phone itself is more cute than most that I have seen, it sits in your hand like a little pet waiting to be played with (stop thinking I’m not right in the head), it’s little screen staring at you and the screensaver which on mine is an analogue clock just blinking away. With the phone sat in it’s compact mode you can answer calls, make calls and browse the menu – you only need to open the phone up fully ...

It has the looks but can it live up to them?

Advantages: Stunning Design, Light as a feather, Great size!
Disadvantages: Software - if this was a nokia it would be the best phone ever.

I bought my SL55 through Virgin Mobile (an excellent service provider) at a great price a few months ago. The SL55 looks great, its compact, light and will turn heads. It's generally quite well designed but I have some doubts about its durability - the slide action is cool but I don't know if I trust it not to get lose/break. The phone does lack in features for those gadget lovers amongst us, the software is not as good as nokia's for example, texting ...

The blonde of the phone world

Advantages: Sleek and sexy looking, small
Disadvantages: Crashes often

Working for one of the Siemens divisions, I get to play with all the different phones that the company produces, and must say, first off that in my opinion is one of the best looking phones on the market at the minute. Its sleek, sexy looking fascia, available in two colours, ruby (as shown in the picture) and titanium (more grey really), and good quality colour display, make this the Miss World of the phone world. Unfortunately, just like some of ...
...the looks, but none of the brains, the internal memory is just 1.5Mb, which is quickly used, as it is required to hold all the ringtones, pictures, games, etc., and the phone does not have any external memory expansion slot. The phone is saved though by the fact that you can link it to your PC through the data cable (which I think you need to purchase seperately), and so can download any pictures that you have received through MMS. Also I had many ...

My siemens sl55

Advantages: Small, Stylish and sexy
Disadvantages: crashes countless times

Well as you will have seen from the attached picture this is a cute small and user friendly little phone. This small phone has all the features of an everyday mobile phone. This is probably where the problems lie. For such a new phone it does not have a number of the features of its comeptitors. Lets take a look at thefeatures for example, how many phones now adays cannot take photos, this one! How many phones are not equipped with bluetooth, this ...
...one. Although however I do say the above, the phone is still equipped with an address book, calender, appointments, calculator, polyophonic ringtones and so on. To sum this phone up I would say that it is a stylish phone, however, not hot on the features and definitely has a tendency to crash. I has a very good battery life and clarity of a phone call is normally good, Whilst generally I would reccommend this phone I would advise you to take a look ...
