    As i have extremely fine, flat looking hair, which refuses to hold a style, i am always on the lookout for anything that might give it a bit of extra ooomph aswell as great hold, for when i go out. I have tried many different hairsprays in the past, many of which have promised extra volume and body, and have always been disappointed with the results. Some just didn't give the extra volume promised, some didn't last more than 5 minutes, and some made my hair sticky or flaked off.     Ugly or what? What? I hear you ask. The silvikrin hairspray can. I know what is in the can is what really matters, but I mean would you like this can stuck on your bathroom shelf. I don’t think so. I hide mine in the cupboard. The colour of the can is a shiny darkish green with bright pinkish triangle things on the front. The colour of the pinkish triangle things are the same colour as those cheap and nasty Christmas balls you get from the £1 shop. The lid is one of those lids you don’t have to take off. Why?     For a hairspray, this stuff is truly awful (in my humble opinion of course! And I have tried a few different brands in my search for blonde perfection (?!), and a natural urge to be given flowers by strange men! It promises to give you good hold, and yes it does that, by turning your hair into a lump of matted glue! I tried Silvikrin's Maximum Hold hairspray because I was looking for a good quality hairspray to give my fine and flimsy hair some hold, without making it look stiff or losing any of its softness.     I have very fine, flat and long hair and all the hairspray i have used refuses to be kind and does what it says in the tin. Most what i have tried say that it gives volume but i have always been dissapointed with the result as there wasnt any volume, didnt hold and got very sticky. I got very annoyed one day as i was going to a wedding and i knew i needed a good hairspray that does give volume and hold, so i had a whole day in town searching up and down the aisles and even asking the shop assistants for help, I went in every shop that would sell this and came across SILVIKRIN.     I have long dyed blonde wild flyaway hair. Sounds dreadful but all it needs is a good hairspray to tame it! I have used Silvikrin Maximum Hold for years and years with only the occasional disloyalty to try a new brand. What I like about Silvikrin is the fact it doesn't have a musty (fly-killer) perfume. It also has a pretty good hold - although as with most hairsprays (except perhaps rock-hold sprays) you do need to reapply it every now and again.     I have used silvikrin hairspray (maximum hold) on a few occassions and I am deeply dissapointed with the result, I have long thin hair and I need a hairspray which will give me a good strong hold, but when I used this my hair was like a brick and also had lost its natural look and trying to run a comb through it was ridiculous. I nearly trailed the head off myself and in the end I had to wash my hair after every use of this hairspray just to be able to comb it.     The Silvikrin brand has been around for years and has been a staple of my hair care regime for the past couple of years. The hairspray comes in an aerosol can. The can is a green/silver colour - it reminds me of an 1980's design and has a retro look to it! A 200ml can costs £1.95 in my local chemist, Silvikrin is available from most supermarkets and places like Boots. The product works really well.     This hairspray is very very very strong. I have quite flyaway hair (okay, that's putting it quite nicely - really it's just frizzy!) and so I do need a couple of gallons of hairspray every mornign to de-cave-woman-ise my hair. This week my mum chose this hairspray for me so I started using it. It really helps pin it down. However, in doing this it makes your hair (otherwise obviously golden shining locks) become really coarse and practically glues it to your head.     This is the first time that i have used silvikrin Hair Spray and I wasn't impressed with the result. It doesn't hold as I was expecting. The smell made me naseau and I don't think it was value for money. My usual Hair Spray is much better
