    2008 is here and what better way to start the year than with a Ciao review! Well I must admit I can think of more exciting things that I could be doing but unfortunately I'm at work and I can't do most of them here!     So if you've read any of my other reviews I am on a never ending quest to find skin care products and hair removal items that mean little pain and no hair growth. I read about sk:n on the ciao reviews website and was quite concerned with some peoples experiences but I had already booked my appointment so thought I'd head along. Sk:n has been around for apparently 25 plus years but I had never heard of them before.     Advantages Advantages Swift payment procedure. Package deals. Convenient locations.

    I have had 8 treatments. I was told that 6 treatments would be enough initially. I was told that I was the 'perfect candidate' skin and hair colour wise. They now tell me it should be 12 treatments. I wish I saw your review before as I signed up around the time you put this review. I am also wondering whether Trading Standards are willing to investigate as I do not believe the way they operate to be fair.     Go at your own risk! Acid dripped into my eye and nurse continued with treatment before tending to my eye!! I went to the East Finchley sk:n clinic expecting great results as I suffer from acne scarring. Before attending my appointment, I was sent an information pack about the clinic and procedures that they do. The information was well presented and it made me feel that it was worth paying more to get treatments through the clinic as there are only doctors or nurses who undertook the treatments.     I joined the Sk:n Clinic in Victoria around July last year when my skin was at it's worse. I had read up on lots of treatments and decided that microdermabrasion was going to save my life! I was wrong. But the clinician did lead me to glycolic peels which have! Of course this isn't a review about singular treatments but the clinics as a whole so i won't go into the treatments. After nearly a year I have to say that I am quite impressed with the clinics.     I have had over 15 facial laser hair removal treatments with Skin clinic and they do not work on Asian skin types. They try to sell sell sell. It is not worth a penny if you have Asian skin like mine. They also vary prices dpending on what time of day you call them or who you speak to. The Admin is atrocious. If you miss an appointment even if you are extremely unwell to go, they still charge you. They are horrible like that. I would not bother with them ever again. Once I turned up for an appointment to find out they hadn't booked it! I can go on and on and on.......stay away is my advice! I ... more

    I went to Sk:n clinic to have a small red spot between my nostrils removed as it sometimes bled and it didn't look very good. I was led into a small overheated room, perched on a stool in the corner, with a loud machine whilst the nurse quickly ran over some questions, took a quick look at the area and suggested they do a test patch to see if the laser treatment would work (this was the consultation) - maybe 5minutes. I was then charged £50 (the test patch is not included in the free consultation) and was advised to buy some aftercare products, like aloe vera, a cooling spray and sun tan ... more

    I decided after years of threading and waxing my face, it was time to get laser treatment done. I'd read really good reviews about the Sk:n clinic so booked a consultation at my local clinic on London Wall. In my opinion, the initial consultation was very rushed - I know they only allocate 15 minute slots but they need to appreciate that the treatment is a big step for people and there are lots of questions to be asked.     I've been going to one of their London branches for a while for laser hair removal. This time I chose a closer branch for microdermabrasion. To start with, the nurse refused to do it on me as, according to her, this was not what I needed. She recommended a peel (was it because peel cost £25 more?) She asked me about my skin concerns and was not listening to my story because after I was finished she started saying something totally irrelevant to what I just told her.     Avoid the Norwich clinic and their new manager Vicky! She will take your money and then talk about you behind your back! She will laugh at your skin complaints and discuss your problems with other staff members! What happened to the lovely staff that used to work there? Donna? Lucy? Kirsty? Where did you go? :( My wife has visited on several occasions and previously loved going. She enjoyed the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Now the place is terrible!!
