Advantages Advantages Aesthetics that will appeal to the young although they are garish to me

Disadvantages Disadvantages Mediocre sound, inability to keep your music personal

Any parent to teenagers will know what it’s like when they have money to spend. You have to stand over them as they buy stuff which you just know is rubbish, and smile sweetly. A few months ago my daughter had some cash to spare and had fallen in love with a shocking pink pair of Skullcandy Lowrider headphones. At £34.99, I felt they were totally overpriced, but she loved the colour, the logo and the fact they folded up and had her heart set on them, so she bought them. Fast forward a couple of months and they are now in my possession, having been firmly rejected by my daughter in favour of in ... more

Advantages Advantages The look fabulous, sound quality, wouldnt lose them in the dark

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quality is rather lacking, dont sit right on the ear properly

In my younger days having big headphones stuck out the side of your head served up only ridicule as it showed you could afford the up-to-date more expensive inner ear ones. Now it seems to have gone the other way with the bigger and brighter, all the better. If you’ve been in HMV, the biggest retailer of Skullcandys there’s a fair chance you’ve seen these shiny headphones. Now I have to admit both me and my daughter have been seduced by them. She has the really shiny pink ones, and mine the slightly more subtle, but no less shiny burgundy ones. But its not just the colour of these headphones ... more

Advantages Advantages nice stylish look, clever folding design, lightweight, durable

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit uncomfortable, sound tends to leak

I was lucky enough to claim a pair of these headphones for free last summer as part of the Coke Zone Rewards scheme run by Coca Cola. Skullcandy are a very popular brand among my friends and I have heard numerous recommendations about how good they are, so I was very happy with my freebie! The Skullcandy Lowrider headphones are available to buy through many electronics retailers, including Amazon where they are available for varying prices depending on colour etc. The RRP for this item is £39.99. Firstly, Skullcandy headphones are primarily about the looks. They have a distinctive style and ... more

    Advantages Advantages great sound quiality

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesnt fit my head nicely

out shopping in the January sales winter 2011, I heard HMV had a massive sale on, so having a scout around, noticed lots of red sale stickers in the technology section, so i scampered over and to my delight a lot of their Skull candy headphones were on sale, I couldn't pick which ones I wanted as I had my eye on a few, but I had my heart set on a pair of these and a bought some of the normal in your ear skull candy earphones at the same time. This particular pair without the sale price is £34.99 but on sale they were only £20 so I just had to buy them. These low riders come in many colours ... more

Advantages Advantages Great For Everyone, Range Of Colours, Fab Sound Quality,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pink Colour Can Be Scratched.

Introduction# I bought these headphones for my trip to Florida a couple of months ago. I was getting really annoyed with my Apple headphones as they kept falling out of my ears, and i just wasn't happy with the product in general to be honest. I had quite a few HMV vouchers from my birthday and decided to go and have a look there. As a girl i was instantly attracted to these bright pink headphones which where £35 on offer. From a first look they looked great and something which i would use. Folding# One thing i wasn't expecting and loved about these headphones is the fact that you could fold ... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish, Great Sound, Look Fantastic, Light, Comfortable, Must have!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Music can be heard by others at volume, no real problem though!

Being a great lover of music I was finding that standard head phones and ear buds just weren't doing the music any justice. The "as standards" often made the music crackle and you would lose part of the songs because of the either over the top, or under used bass. Especially at any decent volume. The other problem was that they would always break and seemed to be made out of nothing but toffee. I'm sure everyone has been left with headphones with only one ear working! I decided that I wanted a decent pair of head phones but didn't want to be spending out hundreds of pounds for a pair. I ... more

Advantages Advantages Price, excellent audio response, trendy colors

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Read the review

Skullcandy Feeling sound Most of the headphones or ear buds that come along with audio players have an overwhelming majority of being prone to poor quality and that particular disqualification does not exclude even Sony, it might sound a bit farfetched but think and feel-it’s not an incorrect observation. I strongly believe that to get the real feel of an audio player it’s absolutely necessary that it carries a headphone of real class. A bad pair of such a device can make quality audio player singularly ordinary. The opposite statement is equally true! A quality headphone can make an ordinary ... more

Advantages Advantages colour, sound quality, foldable

Disadvantages Disadvantages price can be much, but you get what you pay for

Being a huge fan of music, I have to admit that I wanted a pair of these babies for a long time. I begged my parents at every chance possible but to no avail. Finally after getting paid and actually having money to spare (car insurance and phone bills are a killer!) I decided to buy these in bright pink. I do agree that £34.99 is a lot for a set of headphones, especially when most people do not use them very regularly, but I use mine every day on the way to/from work and college on the train and they would definitely be on the 'save' list if my house was burning down (touch wood it doesn't) ... more

    Advantages Advantages adjustable, good sound

Disadvantages Disadvantages hairs gets caught in it

More and more people seem to be wearing the over the hear headphones nowadays, after a period of in ear headphones being the most popular choice. These ones from skullcandy are a great addition to the over the ear range. With it being over the ear headphones it can block out more background noise, as the bits that go over your ear cover the whole hear allowing less outside noise to get in. It does this quite well, it doesn't completely block out outside noise, and quite a bit can still get in, but it is much better than in ear headphones I have tried. The size of the head phones can be ... more

    Advantages Advantages comfortable and convenient

    Disadvantages Disadvantages apparently break easily

I received the same pair of Skullcandy Lowrider headphones pictured for Christmas 2010 and I loved them until they broke after a few month's use. The sound quality is excellent and the sound is enclosed enough that not much escapes to escape your neighbours on the bus. The feature I really miss in comparison with my replacement headphones is their ultra portability. There are enough bends, joints and pivots to enable snug pocket storage when on the move. Only the stringy type of headphones serve this purpose better. They are apparently fashionable, and the Skullcandy brand is very popular and ... more
