The recommended retail price for these is £3.49, but the ones I bought were marked down, and cost me £1.74. I chose the mushroom flavour.

...my 2nd op on different Slim Fast products, I tried their Seasoned Chicken Soup with Sweetcorn & Croutons yesterday and its NICE!
It comes in a trendy 'thin pyramid' shaped box boldly emblazoned (swallowed a dictionary this morning!) with (what else) the Slim Fast logo - you've got to give it to Slim Fast, their marketing is blatant! The actual box is great. It shows the Knorr logo on the bottom right hand corner, as this particular soup was 'Created ... ...in my bowl of dried Slim Fast chicken soup but it looks GOOD! The box states that there are 3 complete meals and that each is a meal replacement for weight control and contains 23 vitamins and minerals plus fibre. Turn the box around and you're assaulted with writing and facts and figures. You've got all the nutritional bumph, which means nothing to me except the cals per 59.5g serving made with 250ml hot water is 217cals and the fat is 6.8g for ...

Advantages: Easy to make Disadvantages: Not to cheap to buy
After all the over indulgence at the christmas holiday's I decided to try and lose a bit more weight.
I have been going to the gym but have eaten lots of the wrong foods over christmas.
Today I went out and bought two packets of Slimfast soups, these cost me 2.99 each at Safeways.
The flavours are Seasoned chicken with sweetcorn and croutons and Garden vegetable with peppers and croutons.
Sound tasty don't they?
These soups come in cardboard ... ...front.
Each carton of soup contains three individual foil wrapped packets of instant soup.
These are created by Knorr, who make other soups too. There are 23 vitamins and minerals plus fibre in each bowl of soup.
There are 209 calories per serving, each soup is a replacement for one meal and I'd suggest only replacing one meal a day, crash dieting hardly ever works as you'll find the quicker you take weight off the quicker you put it back on again ...

Advantages: very few calories Disadvantages: tastes absolutely revolting
I was quite excited when I saw the tv ad for new slimfast soup. I had tried the milkshakes and liked them, but the thought of something savoury available as well made the prospect of dieting much less daunting.
As soon as I went to do my weekly shopping at ASDA, I made a bee line for the "slimming" section - and sure enough they had begun to stock the new SLIMFAST soups. At the time there were four flavours available- Wild mushroom with croutons, creamy ... ...They were being sold in cartons containing three sachets, unfortunately all of one flavour, but as they were only asking £1.80 for a carton I didn't mind. 60p for a complete meal cannot be bad...or so I thought!
I opted for the yummy sounding wild mushroom and the creamy chicken variety.
The instructions were very easy to follow...it was just a case of emptying a sachet into a soup bowl or a large mug...adding 250ml of boiling water that has been ...

Advantages: Great expectations Disadvantages: Have a taste bud bypass first
...For the first three reasons, Slim fast seems a good thing, for the fourth, you're going to get poorer before you lose any weight.
Now Slim fast soup sounded like a great idea. I used the milkshakes in the past and wanted to again, but the thought of another period of nothing but suspicious tasting milkshake filled me with dread.
WAIT! There's hope - they do a soup.
Having paid the extortionate price asked for (£5 for 3 or there abouts), I got ... ...Having opened the packet I immediately sensed something was not quite right. The smell...... not in the least appetising, but then again to be fair, neither are a number of dried packet soups.
Tipping it out into the saucepan - the texture. It somehow did not resemble packet soups I have had any experience with. The texture was very very thick and almost gritty. This did not install confidence.
Having added water, whisking and trying to get the ...

Advantages: Taste/price/aid to weight loss Disadvantages: None that I can think of !
Having read the other reviews on here about the Slimfast soup I felt compelled to write one - namely as the last review was sometime in 2003 ! (and judging by my Slimfast soup experience, they've improved 100%25)
So, the first Slimfast soup I tried was the 'chunky vegetable' one. Priced at a extremely reasonable 1.18, I picked it up at my local Tesco and paid.
-Initial reaction-
Upon opening the handy sachet, I was greeted by a pleasant smell. ... ...carrots and other vegetables. Cooking it on the hob took no more than a few minutes, yet it felt an eternity when exposed to the wafting, yummy smell !
-Taste-
The soup tasted delicious. The soup had a really nice consistency - not too think or thin and the vegetables were soft and surprisingly yummy. The soup is actually rather filling, though you wouldn't think so by looking at it. -Other flavours-
The only other slimfast soup I've tried is ...

OK how grosse is this stuff? and on the advert with that girl she says "slim fast is a really easy plan" and then on the soup ad she says "I wish I had known about the soup at the start of the diet, it would have made it so much easier"
I tried the soup because I tried the milkshake and liked that, therfore I thought I'd like the soup but NO I did not!!!!!!!! It was awful *spits just thinking about it*
It tastes like nothing, almost like your eating ...

Advantages: Does what it says on the tin Disadvantages: Not the best value for money
Well the general consensus about products like this before I started slimming myself seemd to be that they cost the earth and didn't taste a whole lot better. But I'm converted. I've read the other opinions regarding the soup and all I can say is that is you think the soup is bad, for goodness sake, don't try the pasta!!
In general I found the soup to be generally agreeable, okay so it's not the best I've ever had but it's not all that bad, and ... ...doing a different job isnt it? At the end of the day, it works, so if you hate it, then I suggest weightwatchers where you can eat what you like on the points system, and what ever you do, don't fool yourself into buying the pasta cause you think it might be better.
But if you don't mind it, then seriously, stick it out. It won't always be easy, (And I doubt you'll always be happy about it) but the results are well worth it - trust me - I did!! ...

Advantages: Reasonable price, flavoursome. Disadvantages: Not quite as creamy as some soups.
After gaining a stone during the summer, I decided a diet was the only way I was going to be able to fit into my clothes. After having tried many disgusting cabbage and cereal diets and failing to lose much weight, I just decided to cut down on my sweet stuff and generally eat healthy. I came across Slimfast soup in Sainsburys and was impressed at the fairly reasonable price. Having chosen from a variety of flavours I brought them and decided to ...

...I decided to go with Slim Fast as I am too lazy to weigh out measures of this and that and the shake/soup option seemed the way to go.
I bought some soup in the hope of it providing a dinner replacement if I went out for lunch - which is now usually a Slim Fast shake.
Mediterranean Tomato was my choice and I have to say I was quite looking forward to it. (How sad am I?)
I followed the simple instructions, giving it a good old mix as I did as I ... ...hearty wholesome bowl of soup.
How wrong can a girl be?
The soup itself tastes as though its tomato(ish) flavoured cardboard ground down and mixed with water. The enticing "basil" was hard to digest and the "croutons" well, might as well have tried to eat some gravel. Had about two or three spoonfuls, telling myself that I must eat otherwise my diet would go up the spout, but it was just too bad.
I would not recommend this to anyone - ever. ...
