A rival for the Virtua Tennis series?

Advantages: Improved controls
Disadvantages: repetative

Smash court tennis 2 may be nearly 3 years old now, but its still got potential to be one of the best Tennis sims on the PS2. The first outing saw a brave attempt at trying to capture new fans for the sport and succeeded on various level, but its smash court 2 that really improves where other games lay dead and unheard of. The controls are much more fluid and life life and you can now really get into the match as you smash, volley or lob your way ...
...are so unrealistic it brings a more comic aspect to the game rather than a competative nature. Overall however, Smash court tennis 2 really offers something for the player to delve into, with better fluid controls and a more realistic pro tour mode, means that replayability is a certainty, ...

Smash Court Tennis: Pro Tournament 2 - an ACE game

Advantages: Nice and simple, with a good gameplay system. Very enjoyable.
Disadvantages: Can get a bit too easy/repeptitive

...have three tennis games, and Smash Court Tennis: Pro Tournament 2 is by far and away my favourite. I really am quite addicted to it! By now, the game is quite old, but this is no problem at all, except for the fact that the players are a bit “past it”. You can still play as Tim Henman, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Richard Gasquet, James Blake, Lindsay Davenport and Venus Williams amongst others. You can also create a 2 players (one man, one woman) in the ...
...good and not a problem at all – something that usually does happen with tennis games. Overall, Smash Court Tennis: Pro Tournament 2 is brilliant. It has great controls, great modes and a system which is really addictive and definitely makes you want to come back again and again! ...

Second serve ace, or just a double fault?

Advantages: Quick, easy to play
Disadvantages: Can get repetitive and be too easy

I can't remember where or why i bought this., but I do know why i keep playing it. It's a nice tennis game, the best for the playstation by a mile. It looks very crisp and simple to use, although the japanese music and sound effects on the menu screen are very irritable. There are several game modes, arcade where you can enter a tournament with a partner or by yourself; exhibition where you play a single match; tutorial pretty good place to start; ...
...pro tour is the main part of the game so i shall focus my reviewing on that. You create a player; male or female, and enter them into the excitement of the world tennis ranks at the bottom (250) you must then enter tournaments, trying to improve your rank amongst the world's best as well as having the option of training mini-games. Both of these give you points which help you level up, for every level up you go (i believe up to 50) you receive 50 ...

A good All rounder

Advantages: A good all rounder . easy to play
Disadvantages: Credits in Arcade

There are many features on this game to master, as you can have many careers starting out as an amateur player, it allows you to really practice and get to number one in a very short space of time. The career side of it is well designed, allowing you to train your player to be an all rounder, as well as being the best looking on the courts, as you can buy new clothes as you earn more points. Along with buying tennis racquets and other much needed ...
...to beat the best players in the world, as you can enter lots of competitions to allow you to pick up on the skills. Also you can have two types of play, mission and normal; Mission will tell you what to do, such as doing certain amount of aces and returns. Or Normal allows you to do a full set or 6 games. This is also available in the exhibition side of it. It takes you to all the most famous courts in the world, which is most rewarding when winning, ...
