When my American style fridge freezer started making very strange noises, I decided that after 9 years together it was time to say our goodbyes. Any excuse really, I had for years been pining after a Smeg, purely for their looks. For a fridge freezer they are pretty gorgeous! Advantages It's Pink! Stylish.
Disadvantages Not as spacious inside as it would appear on the outside.

I may seem mad, but one of the main reasons I wanted to buy a house was so I could have my very own pink smeg fridge. That time came and a month before completion my partner and I were aimlessly walking through the Bentall Centre in Kingston when we chanced upon a pink FAB32. We were due to complete on our house within a month so we decided to order it there and then, taking advantage of the money off in the January Sales. Since I have started writing reviews on the contents of my kitchen I would like to follow up by telling you about my SMEG fridge freezer yes the names funny but the fridge freezer is a serious piece of equipment that I would never be without even though it cost my mum as a house warming present over £1700 well she would not buy me any other brand as she swears by SMEG and we have always had this brand in my family home. Smeg FAB32, Style over substance 06/02/2012

Advantages The freezer is good, looks attractive
Disadvantages ice in the fridge, rusts in 4 years

I am writing this review 4 years after buying this fridge, In my opinion the purchase was a mistake. While it had stunning retro looks when it was new the fridge, (which has been cared for as the manual suggested) is now beginning to rust. From my point of view one of the main problems effecting this product is that it is often icy inside the fridge section, and when it is not icy it suffers from terrible condensation. I have tried a lower setting to reduce the ice in the fridge but it is then too warm for safe food storage. This has been a problem from the start, Initially we thought was down ... more

The Smeg fridge freezer is not a cheap product to purchase, costing me £1500. However they look really funky and retro, come in a range of eye catching colours, and are the perfect size for a small family or couple. Advantages Looks fabulous and lasts a long time.
Disadvantages Very Expensive on the outset.

I have had my Smeg fridge for the last 5 years, Ihave it in pastel green and it looks the same now as the day it was delivered. It looks fabulous, its works great and I wouldn't get another fridge (unless it was another Smeg). The only down side to these appliances is that they cost a lot of money - in my opinion its well worth it but for some they a simply unaffordable. Another 4 people in my family also have a Smeg fridge or fridgefrezer and they all love theirs as much as I love mine. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is thinking about getting one. Advantages looks good
Disadvantages poorly made, expensive, shabby customer service

The veggie trays broke within a few weeks. The compressor gave up - just outside the warranty period of 2 years. They accepted it was faulty but as it had also caused a leak the fridge was irreparable, so they offered an exchange at half price! Perhaps they were not obliged to do even that, but it seemed like a lot of money having paid so much for the original one and did not seem to reflect the fact it was a faulty part. A triumph of looks over efficiency. Poor build - fifties style without fifties quality. Difficult to clean and regualte the temperature. Small for the price. The plastic ... more
