Hello, Comrade!

Advantages: strong, versatile,
Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands, hangovers

...either way. However, since Smirnoff is a Russian brand, lets concentrate on the Russian side of Vodka's history - there is some evidence that a drink very similar to today's vodka, called 'Bread Wine' and used as a base in medicines, was around between Circa 950-1150. In the 16th century, the British ambassador to Russia declared Vodka its national drink, and Ivan the Terrible, the first Tsar of Russia, played a large role in increasing its production ...

While Smirnoff don't publicize their distillation process , they do make mention of the fact that Smirnoff Number 21 / Red Label is triple filtered, each filter being done through silver birch charcoal and taking about 8 hours a round. OUR CAT'S CALLED SMIRNOFF.

Advantages: The taste.
Disadvantages: The price.

...how indescribable they are. Smirnoff vodka has a very pleasant vodka smell. It could almost be described as sweet. Same with the flavour when it is mixed with cola or lemonade. It is definitely not sweet when taken on its own though. It’s very much a dry spirit, unlike my usual favourite liqueurs. Despite that, it is an easy and not unpleasant drink to consume unmixed. It is very much a ‘shot’ drink under those circumstances. Where someone might ...
...clear bottle, with the distinctive Smirnoff red label. Though I have noticed a trend in some own brands to move away from the usual black and white label, and hint at copying this as close as they dare. The true Smirnoff bottle has a raised crown motif, which I take to be a kind of international Braille for vodka drinkers. Nice! Even the blind can tell it’s Smirnoff. It’s alcoholic volume is 37.5 percent. It costs £9.99 for a 70cl bottle or thereabouts, ...

Nipples Like Organ Stops

Advantages: Can be drunk in a variety of ways: on it's own, with different mixers, as a short or long drink or part of a cocktail.
Disadvantages: Not to everyone's taste when neat and can make you do silly things!

...should and I had a Smirnoff fire burning in my tummy. I was in deepest Devon with my BoyFriend on a 'duty' weekend. His long lost cousin was getting engaged and was having a party, whoopee! Well not really. I'd never met her, but had been told that she loved fox hunting - so there seemed little chance of us hitting it off. The afternoon before the jolly old bash I dragged BF reluctantly down to the beach for a walk. I wasn't in his good books! Out ...
...She does love her Smirnoff though, which was probably why I'd got stuck into it! I normally hate the stuff and drink red wine. Mrs.Mummy, of course, has to have her Smirnoff in a certain way: 5 cl of vodka 2.5 cl of fresh squeezed lime 7 Up lemonade The vodka has to be poured into a tumbler over five - yes five - ice cubes, covered with the fresh lime juice and then topped up with 7 Up. Oh yes, and a garnish of a twist of lime. I gave her lime ...

That's The Spirit

Advantages: better quality
Disadvantages: gives hangovers

...all of course I like Smirnoff best as to me it gives no horrible taste and it just tastes overall better. To some this may sounds ridiculous as some may see all vodka as being the same but I feel the quality of Smirnoff is better. The first vodka distillery was founded in Moscow in the 1860's by Piotr Smirnov. In 1910 after her death Vladimir Smirnov took over and then produced 4 million vodka cases a year. Later he family had to leave the distillery ...
...curved. It has the red Smirnoff label on it and the labels are all in red to coordinate with the logo. The bottle is clear glass so it is easy to see the level of vodka left. It also shows all of the information on the product such as nutritional information. The glass bottle has a coat of arms engraved into it also which I am guessing symbolizes Smirnoff. The full 70cl bottle that I have contains 26.3 units and 37.5% alcohol volume. There are 52 ...

Fancy a stiff one

Advantages: Smooth, tasty, and with a good kick to it.
Disadvantages: Doesn`t come in a 10 gallon drum.

...an opinion based on various Smirnoff brands but Red Label is prominent so.........it is here. Just the mere sight of a label emblazoned with the word "SMIRNOFF" is enough to make me think "god I`m thirsty". My hand automatically heads for my wallet to scramble through the pile of change that has built up in there frantically trying to put together 8.99 in coppers (or 10.99 assuming that I would attempt to buy vodka anywhere but ASDA Deano). But, ...
...Smirnoff ice, Moscow Mule, Red Square, Big Beastie.......... Why does it have to be so complicated to get paraletic these days ? What happened to the days when you could go into a shop and ask for a bottle of vodka and know exactly what you were getting ? Well, on most occasions I settle for good old Red label (an 80 proof smooth beverage, 40% alc. by vol). Mmmmmmmmm, delicious. Red label does not taste right to me unless it is mixed with coke, and ...

Have a good night have a vodka

Advantages: purchased almost anywhere, and leader in its own
Disadvantages: pricey

Smirnoff vodka is seen by many as the connnoisseur's beverage of choice in the field of vodka. It is an established brand which is requested around the world, renowned for, amongst other factors, being triple distilled for "ultimate purity", as well as having an image and label which has, in the past, had the benefit of a deceptive amount of financial clout in the way of marketing. The brand, produced by The Pierre Smirnoff Company, has existed since ...
...average 1 litre bottle of Smirnoff will set you back a hefty £14 or £15, a bottle of Safeways equivalent is a mere £10. So, what are you really paying for? The name? As most real vodka "connoisseurs will tell you, if you really want the best readily available vodka on the market, Absolut is the way to go. The choice of the elitist, popularised by such painfully "cool" characters as the Wall street big shot and many of the main players in the eighties, ...

The Undisputed King of Vodka

Advantages: Smooth, Very versatile in cocktails, does not leave a alcohol smell on your breath
Disadvantages: As is the case with all alcholic drinks it must be taken in moderation

Smirnoff is undoubtedly one of the most well known and respected brands as far as Vodka is concerned. In my earlier days (my 20's) my drink of choice was Vodka Tonic and my Vodka of choice was Smirnoff Red. True there were not very many brands to choose from in those days unlike today where the choice is more with other brands competing for that number one title such as Absolut. Smirnoff originated in 1860 when Piotr Arsenyevitch Smirnoff founded ...
...The distilling process used by Smirnoff is very precise and only the best ingredients are used. The water is demineralized and filtered and this filteration process produced water that is even more purer than spring water. Even the charcoal that is used for the filteration process is specially selected from sustainable sources of hardwood trees such as Maple, Birch and Beech. This ensures that you get a clean, clear and crisp taste to the product. ...

STRICTLY OVER 18 ONLY (Smirnoff Vodka)

Advantages: Reasonably clean taste for the price.
Disadvantages: Gives you a mouth like a dusty flip flop.

Smirnoff Triple Distilled Vodka has to be the route of all evil (along with money). It makes you do things you wish you hadn't and gives you a mouth like dusty flip flop the next day. So why is it such a big seller? The bottle I have is just a small , 20cl, as we are not huge vodka drinkers and comes in a clear glass bottle with a red top. The bottle cost me £5.45 from my local Spar. There is a red label on the front and back of the bottle. The front ...
...of vodka I wouldn't choose Smirnoff as it is quite cheap and therefore you get the rough taste and rougher heads associated with it the next day. If I were to drink vodka more regular then I would choose a more up market brand. But I always keep a small bottle in case the moment comes when I fancy a wee one with a drop of lemonade. Please Bring A Bottle... BUT NOT SMIRNOFF

Advantages: It's vodka
Disadvantages: It's foul

...you all about it... Smirnoff originates back to 19th century Russia, or to be more precise, Moscow. It was in the 1860's that "Piotr Arsenyevitch Smirnov founded his vodka distillery" and it took off like nothing before. In the 1870's, the quality of Smirnov was greatly improved with a charcoal filtration process founded by Andrev Albanov. He was a chemist looking into the medicinal properties of charcoal and "one night left a chunk of charcoal ...
...In the 1930's production of Smirnoff was moved to the USA and a marketing campaign in the 1940's advertising it as "SMIRNOFF White Whiskey. No taste. No smell" saw it's popularity rise dramatically. ~ * Please Note - information above was obtained from the official Smirnoff website http://www.smirnoff.com * ~ Well, fast forward to the 21st century. People still love the damn stuff. Have to admit the history behind it - in particular it's closeness ...

Smirnoff Vodka :)

Advantages: Trusted, reputable brand.
Disadvantages: The cheaper versions, are pretty much the same when your mixing :)

...really see the difference between Smirnoff vodka and the cheap stuff from asda... now maybe if you are a big vodka fan you could taste the difference. The only thing I find is that cheap vodka gets your alot drunker alot quicker...!! Which is a good thing!! Haha. The vodka tastes like vodka, smells like vodka, and looks like vodka...if your drinking it with orange juice or cola or something with a taste then why spend double the price when the taste ...
...rather than £17 bottle of Smirnoff and just see if you taste a difference...I know I don;t!! Now something I will say about Smirnoff Vodka is that it is a very respectable brand, every single off license or supermarket whihc sells alcohol will have Smirnoff, you can trust it, you know its not been made with rubbish which really isn't going to be good for you. The bottle itself comes in many sizes, shot sized, quarter bottle, half bottle, 750cl bottle, ...

Smirnoff; strong & distinctive

Advantages: Strong tasting
Disadvantages: Expensive

...I've got a bottle of Smirnoff in the fridge especially for when I have mates round. I tend to have it with red bull which in my opinion is the best thing to mix it with as Red Bull is of course an energy drink it's great to drink if you're going on a night out until 4am as it will keep you dancing all night! I only tend to use Smirnoff Vodka for shots as you can taste the difference between Smirnoff & for instance the Tesco brand of Vodka, it's ...
...buy a 35cl bottle of Smirnoff from Tesco for £6.49 whereas the Tesco brand of the same quantity only costs £3.99. If you're mixing your Vodka it's a lot cheaper to go for the supermarket brand as you only really taste the thing that you've mixed it with. For shots I'd say go for Smirnoff, although go easy on them! Smirnoff has an alcohol volume of 37.5%, Tesco's brand is exactly the same. If you're drinking Vodka for the first time I suggest you ...

After 47 separate quality control checks, Smirnoff Vodka is ready for bottling. (This is for your information, courtesy my research on the net) This is what goes to make the best vodka. I personally am a pure Vodka person. I have tried a few other drinks but this is the one that suits me the ...

Advantages: Makes you happy
Disadvantages: Cost

...the night with a large Smirnoff vodka and ribena at home I tappie lappied down to see the N.Y in with friends and a fantastic Irish band. The local drinking hole offers 'house' vodka doubles, a much cheaper version but since it was a special ocassion I decided to go for the 'real thing'........this time mixed with diet coke (they don't sell ribena and I'm led to believe that diet coke is less fattening than the coke). ********************************************************************** ...

Vodka - how do you drink yours?

Advantages: Strong and good quality product
Disadvantages: Can be more expensive than other products out there

...is a classic. Smirnoff have done a really good job on their vodka, but do have alot of competition out there, especially when it comes to price. For example you can get a 70cl. for around £7 in Asda or Tesco. A 70cl of Smirnoff would cost between £11 - £14. Of course you have the quality in Smirnoff that you sometimes do not find in other brands. Smirnoff Vodka is 37.5% whereas cheaper vodkas can be sometimes as low as between 22-28%, so you definately ...

Smirnoff Vodka is excellent in the way that it is so versatile, you can mix it with pretty much anything: Orange, coke, redbull, lemon fanta, orange fanta, lemonade, tropical juice, pineapple juice, tia maria and coke.. the list does on. My favourite is probably tia maria, vodka and coke. Black Russian. Lovely!! You can really use your imagination with Smirnoff Vodka and mix it with anything AND I do suggest you do mix it. The Smirnoff Experience

Advantages: gets you drunk, can be cheap in some pubs
Disadvantages: can make you act silly, can be expensive, bad taste, bad smell

The first time I tried Smirnoff vodka I was young and stupid and ended up being sick all over my friend's bathroom, all over my new top, and later in the taxi home in front of the boy I fancied. It took me over 3 years to get over that incident and work up the courage to start drinking it again! The main reason I started drinking it again was because of how cheap it is in most student clubs and pubs. I admit, it was difficult to put aside truly ...
...done. Smirnoff vodka comes in several sized bottles - litre bottles, 70cl bottles, 35cl bottles, quarter bottles, and miniatures. It is definitely overpriced compared to most other vodkas. It also comes in different varieties such as Smirnoff Ice. The bottle is a typical glass bottle with a distincitive red label featuring the Smirnoff logo. Once the red top is taken off, you will smell something which I personally can't stand. The only way I can ...
