Snakes and Ladders, wow, there's a name that brings back a memory or two. People that have read my Opinions will find that there's a lot of board games in there, and most of the one's I rate highly are the ones that avoid the 'roll a dice and move some spaces' style of play. In that, I'll admit that amongst my sizable games collection a copy of snakes and ladders is not to be found. It's a simple game, the board is divided into squares in a 10x10 ...

You have a board with a hundred squares on it, a counter for each player and a pair of dice. Snakes and Ladders is an old fashioned favourite. It can be boring for adults but kids love it. I had the normal version and the giant version which was a big plastic mat with giant pieces and dice. SETTING UP Basically unfold the board and choose your favourite coloured piece. Put your piece next to the first square and not on it. This rule was argued against sometimes but I stick with it. AIM OF THE GAME To get to the 100th square first. RULES ...
