Advantages: Radar/Laser and GPS Speed Camera Detection Disadvantages: False Alerts and The Horrible Monthly Charge
...to register the unit with Snooper you then use the supplied modem cable to plug the unit directly into your phone line and it updates and sends you the latest camera database available. Easy as that. You can update as many times as you want while you are subscribed. If at the end of the six months you don’t want to subscribe then the unit will just be as up to date as your last update but will not have new cameras on it. Otherwise you have to pay ... ...having recently given the new Snooper S4 a test it’s a very tight competition between the two, because the S4 doesn’t do radar so you won’t give false alarms, but the Snooper S6 does radar (which is more protection) but will give false alarms. I’m torn between the two right now. However if you go for it I’d recommend going for option B from the above list. ...

Advantages: Detects everything known to man - almost! Disadvantages: Expensive to buy and ongoing update costs
...it.
I purchased my Snooper from In Car Express who are a automotive specialist in Cambridge. They have an excellent website and their prices are very competitive. I can recommend them.
I actually purchased the S6-R Plus which is exactually the same model as the S6-R apart from the display. The Plus has a relaxing blue display compared to the original green one. This Snooper consits of three components; the main display; the laser/radar detector; ... ...fees begin to mount up Snooper UK offers a 5 year warranty on the product if the subscription is continually paid without any lapse.
I have now used this product for a few months and it is very impressive. It can give you clear warnings of fixed camera's up to 1Km away, you set the warning distance. With fixed camera's it displays your speed and also the limit for that road, which allows you to confirm that your are actually within the law. On two ...

Advantages: easy to operate, accurate, good value, free downloads for 6 months, detects both radar and laser as well as providing locations of speed cameras. Disadvantages: subscription for downloads to update database after six months
The GPS unit was easy to install and came complete with fixings for ease of installation. The RLD was a little more tricky but again the fixings are provided with detailed instructions of how to install. You can have the RLD mounted on the dashboard as well but I thought this made the windscreen look cluttered.
The GPS unit has to be registered. Once registered you need to download the database of speed cameras to the unit. A modem lead is supplied ... ...this. Once this has been done the unit can be used. The GPS unit identifies the type of camera you are approaching. You can set the distance from the camera for when the unit gives you an alert and you can set the type of tone the unit will emit. When in use it detected all the cameras on my route as well as cameras on other roads. This can be altered so that the unit only alerts you when you are either on the motorway or alternatively on city roads. ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: False Sense of Secuity - Picks up everthing EXCEPT Speed Detectors
...did not detect them. So Snooper telling me that they couldn't have been pointing it at me is just wrong!!
I sent the whole lot back to them just before Christmas and it has now been returned to me. They say there is nothing wrong with the laser and they have changed the phone number in the unit. When I asked if I would get a refund for the Subs as I had not been able to download anything I was told no!!
Not happy and bitterly disappointed. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, good value Disadvantages: Finding a stockist!
This product was recommended to me by a friend. I have two sets of speeding offences on my license... both for really minor offences and I needed to both slow down and to be more aware of my speed. Changing to a slower and lower cc vechicle, I decided to look around for the best detector and took advise from anyone and everyone.
I know that some people believe that these products are like a license to speed when the radar guns are not around but ... ...straight and narrow and also avoid another penalty.
I tried to locate this product everywhere and in the end had to contact the manufacturer direct - they immedaitely put me in contact with a stockist and the purchase was finally made.
This product is easy to use, straightforward and great value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a simple and no-frills solution. ...
