This game is fast. Sonic games have always been about speed and in Sonic Adventure the blue hedgehog is faster than ever. If you have already played the previous Sonic titles on the Megadrive then the gameplay will be instantaneously recognisable except that the action now takes place in a wonderfully detailed 3D world. The twists and loop-the-loops are still here and sonic goes even faster around and through them. Sonic’s new world is lavish, ... ...in the future. Sonic is not alone, he now has a whole host of friends to help in his quest and each one of these is playable. Tails and Knuckles return from previous games and there are also new characters in the form of Amy (the love interest), Big the Cat and E-102. The only time the multi-million selling hero, Sonic, had ever received a 3D treatment was in the Saturn games `Sonic R` and `Sonic Jam` but neither of these games were proper plat-formers and on a 32 bit system, although still better than the aging playstation, Sonic's speed could not be justified.
When the Dreamcast was announced, ... ...a fully 3D sonic world in which our hero, sonic, could travel around many places, desserts, snow, mountains and even over oceans of some sort. ...be said about us loyal Sonic Team fans. We're obsessed. Yuji and the boys could publish a blank disc and we would flock to buy it. Basically, they've never put a foot wrong. From 1991 with the advent of Sonic the Hedgehog to the wonders of NiGHTS, there's something that Sonic Team does that makes their games special.
When 1998 arrived, along with the announcement of Dremacast, Sonic Team announced that their mascot would also return. Now Sonic Team ... ...little bit special.
Of course, Sonic was taken back to the drawing board and renovated, to try and shift off the 'culldy' status he seemed to be gaining recently. I mean we have all seen the scary eyes poster, heven't we? Scared me witless. Anyway, Sonic was back, looking more fresh, and a little older, and ready to kick butt in all-new 128-bit glory.

...2' game, I found other Sonic games rather disappointing, as they weren't fast enough. The awful Sonic 3D was useless. I think that Sonic Adventure comes the closest of all the Sonic sequels to recapturing the camaraderie of Sonic 2.
This is for a number of reasons. For a start, the game has superb 3D graphics and images,and the game moves along very quickly - Sonic runs faster, and there are the old familiar Sonic looping special effects, albeit ... ...making it unique in the Sonic range, as it requires you to think rather than just run as fast as Sonic will go. This fortunately does not interrupt the fluidity of the gameplay. Perhaps the game's biggest flaw is its difficulty. Sonic was basically a run jump and win game; it was never designed to be compatible with the role playing or puzzle scenario. ...the same thing with the Sonic Adventure series as Nintendo did with Mario 64.
Sega have pulled the feat of bringing sonic into a free roaming 3D environment brilliantly. I am not a great fan of the previous Sonic games, with the exception of the first, which was a landmark classic in its day.
This game is huge and really does go quite some way to illustrate the power of Sega's new entertainment system. The game is split into several chunks (1 for ... ...a choice of characters each with their own set of individual action areas. The storyline to the game is very strong, with clever junctions between each of the characters, which really add to the immersive feel of the game.
Another nice touch is the "choa" mini game which allows you to breed "Tamogatchi" type animals in the 3D game environment and transfer them to the memory card in order to take them for walks.

Some of you may remember Sonic The Hedgehog from the old master system, then the mega-drive, now he's back on the Dreamcast looking better than ever before, and now makes use of the dreamcast's power by allowing him to talk for the first time, SEGA brings you SONIC ADVENTURE!!! Sonic adventure has to be one of the best, if not the greatest, platformer ever. The sheer length and playability not to mention graphics are superb. The game combines all aspects of everyones favourite game in one brilliant game. Seven characters, over thirty levels,10+ mini games and a virtual pet (chao). This game had enough to keep me going for months. Each of the characters is unique (Sonic is fast, Tails can fly, Knuckles can glide, punch, ... ...and super sonic can glide on water. the first fully 3-D sonic game, and its a lot of fun, in total there are six different characters(and one hidden)to play as, each has there own special skills to get through the adventure, you start of as sonic, but soon you meet the rest of the cast, tails, knuckles, big, gamma and amy, and as you meet them you are able to play as them!

The gameplay on sonic is like a dream with all your characters easy to control and play with at most times making it extremely fun to run around.
