Sonic the Hedgehog, the first game in the series that would spark a legacy for Sega and create their icon for the company. I can't imagine anyone who hasn't heard of Sonic now. An excellent role model for kids during the 90s and I believe he still is. Doing everything for the right thing, high determination and never giving up against the bad guys. This game is the second highest selling game for the Sega Mega Drive, right behind Sonic 2. Up until ... ...to fight against Sonic. If Sonic destroys them, it will free them from their robot shell. Doing this will raise your entire game score. Collecting all the Chaos Emeralds in the game will trigger the extended ending once the game has been completed. I have never achieved this, due to the emeralds being scattered in some tricky places but have watched the ending on YouTube. Spoiled the fun though, so I don't recommend doing that! Much more satisfying ...

Sonic was in my mind, the best game of the 90's and even today with the far superior graphics and gameplay of other games, Sonic still stands out as one of the all time greats of video gaming. The simple side scrolling run and jump platformer became popular with pretty much everyone.

Sonic the hedgehog. He was a blue, spiky hedgehog that could travel faster than the speed of sound. This game was one of the earliest games on the Sega Mega Drive, and fast became Sega's mascot as well as probably the most famous computer game star of all time. Back when I was a wee lad (when I was 5, roughly 14 years ago) I was introduced to this. It was the first computer game I had ever played.
This game means ... ...be animated. The running of Sonic is fluid and smooth, the bad guys shooting and biting is smooth, even if sometimes blocky, and the backgrounds move and change as you run through the levels - think about how the landscape changes whilst staring out of a train window. The bonus levels at the end of the stages are incredible looking, with fish and birds in the backgrounds added to the strange colours of the level structure are amazing, and mystifying. ...

...the main reason is The Sonic The Hedgehog games… I just love them!
There are numerous to play, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic boom and Sonic 3D.
Sonic 1-
This was pretty good even for a starter, the idea is you race along collecting rings and there are various baddies you need to either spin on or jump on to kill, they then turn into cute little creatures and hop off!
There are so many hidden passages and extras to find and ... ...harder as you go along.
Sonic one is definitely the easiest to finish.
Sonic 2-
This game gives you the option of using either Sonic or Tails and follows the same pattern as the first with many extra features and this makes it even harder!
You now end up in stages such as the night zone, which is like a giant pinball scene, under water stages and lots more.
Again defeating the evil one completes each stage.
Now this is quite a lengthy game ...

Sonic The Hedgehog was born in 1991, and quickly became the mascot for Sega during the 90's through its master system, and mega drive consoles. I myself, was, and still is, a massive Sonic fan - you were either a Sonic or Mario follower, and over the years, I cannot accept the fact that slowly but surely, Sega have began to kill the character, which ultimately brought the Mega Drive to its peak status! Let's hope that the latest proposal, Porject ... ...moment, its safe to say Sonic is clutching onto life with a thread.... lets hope Project Needlemouse isn't the final nail in the coffin - I'd be absolutely gutted if it was. The game itself is based on Sonic finding his way around various scenes that often resemble obstacle courses.The idea of the game is to pick up as many gold rings as possible as you find your way to the end of each level.
Collecting 50 gold rings by the end of each level will enable you to enter a bonus level.If you manage to collect ... ...bonus levels it allows sonic to go supersonic.
Collecting 100 gold rings will give sonic an extra life.
There are three stages to every level and at the end of each of the third stages you will have to fight sonics arch enemy Doctor Robotnik.Be warned doctor Robotnik is armed with a different weapon every time you encounter him.

Sonic The Hedgehog (or Sonic 1) released in 1991 on the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis if you're living in America) set the foundation for one of the most endearing gaming franchises of all time that now 18 years on is still around. As one of the early games on the Mega Drive to really earn the console some kudos in it's battle with the Nintendo system of the time and as Sega's answer to Mario the blue hedgehog was one of the most important gaming characters ... ...a while they settled on Sonic (though the title character from the late Mega Drive game “Ristar” had almost been picked as the character for this game). A blue hedgehog that was incredibly fast (“Super Sonic” of course meaning quicker than the speed of sound). ...when I found all my Sonic games. My favourite being Sonic Pinball. Talk about addictive. I also have Sonic 1,2 and sonic and knuckles.
Whilst playing Sonic Pinball I found Sonic who is a hedgehog very hard to control. It takes hours of play to finally reach the last level which are five in all. I have never managed to complete the final level and find this very frustrating. It’s not the game it’s me.
All the levels are very colourful ... ...no charm, is evil to Sonic and his fox friend Tales and appears in all of the Sonic games I possess. As the levels progress he gets harder to beat and it takes quite a few times to get the knack. The object of all sonic games is to run, spin and jump around and collect gold rings. You gain points for every ring collected. If 100 gold rings are collected then you get a free life. Whilst trying to collect the rings you have to avoid enemies including ...

Sonic the Hedgehog is a very good platform video game created by Sega.
After being released in 23rd June 1991 In North America, and in Europe the next day, Sonic the hedgehog has become one of the, or probably the best video game mascot ever. Who knew such a small cartirdge would contain a video game which is soo much fun.
I've been playing this all my life and I yet haven't become bored of it!
This video game contains 6 levels, each level having ... ...difficulty and fun you guide Sonic through a maze to find one of the 6 (There is 7 but this Game has 6) Chaos Emeralds.
Only sonic can do is jump and roll in this first game, unfortunatly Spindash wasn't added until Sonic 2 was released, But Spindash isn't needed to make the game great =D
I still prefer this game over the latest games for the XBOX360 and the Sony PS3.
If you're a old school gamer and haven't tried this video game, I highly reccomend ...

Sonic the hedgehog, was the original game for the megadrive, it had all the graphics of a good game, well at the time it had. It had the appeal of a good game, and it was really cool. It consisted of several levels, each containing three zones, which were full of enemies and hazards for sonic to run into. At the end of the third zone of each level you got to fight the evil Doctor Robotnik, who used to be sonic’s friend known as Professor Kintobor ... ...were sonic’s friends. So sonic got mad and decided to set things right. He starts of at the easiest zones and moves onto zones, which are gradually harder. My favourite zone, known as the starlight zone, this zone is the best with the best music and the most entertaining levels and enemies. The boss at this level is a flying spaceship, which drops bombs onto a set of seesaws. The aim is to hit the spaceship with the bombs that he drops. The game ...

Sonic The Hedghog is the first Sonic game ever made. It came out in 1991 - 1992, It struck the world, now everyone knows the character Sonic The Hedghog. Sonic first became the sponser for Sega (the creaters of sonic and his gang), in this game, it is just Sonic the hedghog. No friends involved what so ever.
Dr Robotnic, Sonic's Arch enemy, is trying to get the 7 chaos emeralds, before Sonic got them, there was no such thing as Super Sonic in this ... ...can have absolute power.
Sonic is a blue hedghog, who can talk, a run as fast as the speed of light, if you wanted to race this hedghog, you will need to have teleportation powers, and even then I dout you could beat him.
The playabity of the game is great, you could play this game forever, shame that it is shortish, only because it is such an old game, but it is so great. I like it, and so will you if you like Sonic, even if you dont, might as ...
