    This CD/mp3 deck was a birthday gift tyo myself back in 2004, however, it was stolen about a month later from my car in the mall's parking lot! (And if that was not enough, they got the deck, the remote, my 2 amplifiers and my CD pouch, which was in the car, but they left the box, which was still in the trunk!) Immediately, I must say that this was the one model which Sony convinced me of their superior Japanese technology.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow fast forward on MP3 CD's

    Great head unit at the price, Full of features "that you will use" not the usual gubbins that mean nothing to anyone This head unit will work with both CD's and MP3 CD's which you can easily create at home on your PC, from downloads or ripping CDs. On average i've found I can get 8-12 full albums onto a CD which is great as I don't need an auto-changer. Also you don't need to keep rummaging about for CDs when on the move. Only problem is if you like fast forwardind through songs when on MP3 CD's it can be very slow, but is no problem on normal CD's though???? isnt a major deal though. This ... more

    Lets start by saying previous to this Sony car stereo I had a £200 Clarion "profesional" car stereo. to my dismay it has recently passed away and caused me to look for a new alternative. I have a sony Monitor a sony DVD player Sony Surround Sound AMP and a Sony Video Player. Therefore I knew sony are good, BUT i didnt know they were this good.     This little head unit will knock your socks off! and I don't mean with distorted volume, but with the quality and clarity of the sound produced. And its not even started there. FEATURES+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It has a drop down front panel to allow CD's to be inserted/removed with concealed eject button, and it is also removed for security, from this flipped down position by simply pushing it to the left and pulling away.     Advantages Advantages So much for your money, easy install, nice looks too.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages I have no gripes really apart from it not coming with MP3 software for conversion which none do that I know of.

    Sound Quality: What more can you ask from such a well priced product. Put it this way, I bought it because it was Sony even tho mates advised that Sony weren’t all that good in the stereo market. They were wrong, ever so wrong on this count. Crisp & Clear – of course this will all depend on what you are sending it out through (Speaker quality etc) This beats any stereo I’ve owned before – and cost a lot less too.     This was the only mp3 car cd player available with the dealer a year back ago. Now there are potential manufacturers selling various products of this kind. This player is good on the features side, but lacks on the sound quality. I bought sony's xplod speakers which never satisfied me upto the sound quality at high volumes I find in other manufacturer's car. Perhaps, its the problem with the speakers, not the head unit.     Stylish and sleek MP3 CD Radio Head unit. Looks great in your car and sound quality is excellent. I have owned this Head unit for 4 years and it has lasted me really well. First of all the Radio has plenty of presets that can be used to store all your favourite stations quickly and easily. It benefits from FM, MWand LW radio which I use for listening to the cricket. The CD player is excellent too, no problems, doesn't skip and you can play CD-R, CD-RW and your MP3 Discs which is great for all your downloaded music.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be a bit slow, need a PC and CD burner to take full advantage.

    I have had this stereo in my car for over a year now, but I have probably not put more than 10 to 15 CD's into it during that time. Not because I dont have a large choice of music but simply because I can listen to 5 or more of my favourite albums on one CD. This easy to use player offers a wide range of features in the way of a graphic equalizer, pre-set equalizer, speaker surrond options and many more.     Disadvantages Disadvantages takes a while to read the CD when first switched on

    In this day and age of criminal low life's who shouldn't have a place in a modern society, it remains necessary to walk around with half your car stereo in your pocket!! but if I must, then I'm happy to carry thos faceplate around. Once I get back to my car, I know i've got a selection of 10 albums, yet no expensive multi-CD changer in my boot. Whats more, my favourite CDs are safely tucked away in my CD rack at home, not risking being scratched or stolen by the above mentioned low-lifes.     Advantages Advantages Fit a CD changers worth on 1CD, good price, ease of use, expandable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages MP3 quality deteriorated with amplification

    Good power head unit if you just want direct replacement for OEM unit, custom fit speakers will be needed to appreciate sound quality in some cars. MP3 quality is good with head unit output but audiophiles should know amplification shows up its weaknesses, although standard CD audio doesn't suffer this problem. Good expandable qualities with 2 sets of RCA's and socket for Sony column joystick (which I have fitted). As a personal preference a full set of Infinity Kappa's really do this head unit justice and will reproduce the full range of music the Sony is capable of outputting. A lot of car ... more
