    Advantages Advantages Small, Decent Quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No Zoom, Memory

The Sony u20 was the first digital camera I bought, and was sceptical about whether I was was going to get a medium from it, where it would take decent high quality pictures but also would be small enough for me to take anywhere in my pocket. Its a hard medium to acheive. The u20 is succesful in every way, and I was extremely suprised to be able to take even the most demanding of shots on this tiny yet robust package. Although this camera is, obviously, not the best quality digital camera you can buy by a long way, It still has an extremely powerful resolution which is fantastic for anything ... more

    4 Stars Quick review of Sony Cyber-shot U DSC-U20 by biddy2211 12/07/2007
It is nice and compact very easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. You can carry it were ever you go. On the down side the buttons at the back are a little fiddly, but over all it is a good value for money camera

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Memory

I love photography but until recently I only had APS and 35mm cameras. They were top of the range Nikon and Kodak cameras and the thaught didnt even cross my mind to spend more of my precious cash. Then one day in Japan I decided to look in the massive Sony centre. That was where I first saw the DSCU20 digital camera and it was beutiful. It was then I promised myself that camera. Im sure youll agree that James Bond himself would be proud of this miniature work of art. Its dimensions are only 84.5mm x 39.8mm x 28.6mm (W x H x D) and it looks as good as the quality of photos it produces. Many ... more

    Advantages Advantages size

I won one of these camera's in a prize draw that i wasn't even aware i had entered so its arrival courtesy of BT Broadband was a bit of a surprise. Never having used or had the urge to purchase a digital camerai tended to stick with my trusted pentax 35mm, i was surprised at the picture quality available from such a small form factor. You can adjust the resolution and thereby the printed picture size from the fiddly menu option via a toggle switch on the rear of the camera. Lack of a viewfinderand zoom function was at first a bit off putting for me but once you get used to the dinky screen on ... more

Advantages Advantages It's very, very small, cheap, good resolution for the price

Disadvantages Disadvantages no viewfinder, no zoom

I bought this camera as a bit of an impulse buy in Tokyo when it first came out. I already had a similar quality digital camera but it was just soooo small!! I dare you to find a smaller, quality camera go I dare you. The size is the most important feature, it's hard to see from the photos but it's about the size and weight of a mobile phone so basically you can carry it on you at any time without noticing. Soon you'll start to pick it up everytime you go for a night out as routinely as you do your mobile. It's also brilliant for suprising people, unsuspecting people who think they're in a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great picture quality, small size

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no zoom

The Cyber Shot U first caught my eye because the unusual blue colour really stood out form all the silver or black cameras available. The main reason I ended up buying it was because I was about to go on a cycling holiday in the Alps. its small size meant it was easy to carry in my jersey pocket and the high quality photos meant that I still got some great pictures of all the beautiful scenery. The camera is brilliantly easy to use. It lacks a very diverse range of features but for convenience and ease as a 'holiday snap' type camera (and more) it can't be beaten. For such a reasonable price ... more

Advantages Advantages It is very simple, just point and click

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no zoom function

After owning the silver version of this camera for a number of years i accidently dropped it in the sea, whilst it vaguely survied it has never been the same. I have therefore replaced it with the black version because i loved it so much. Whilst there is no zoom function in this camera, it does give good quality pictures with the benefit of no moving parts to go wrong (it has survived many a sandy day at the beach!). A drawback with the package available from shops is that it only comes with a 8 megabit memory stick which holds thirty photographs, depending on the quality and once you get into ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, compact and easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited, picture quality could be better, battery life.

I have owned this camera for nearly a year now and I have had lots of fun and use out of it. It is the perfect size to keep in your pocket or bag without even noticing it, roughly one and a half times the size of a match box and wieghs practically nothing. Ideal for nights out or when you do not want to be lumbered with carrying any large items about. Unfortunatly though this is about as good as it gets, at only 2 megapixals picture quality is not the best. The photographs look a little too soft even after correction and you just get the general feeling you would get a better picture with a ... more

Advantages Advantages Tiny, cute, discreet, great colour

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Errrrm....

This is the best digital camera ever. I was given mine by my boyfriend for Christmas and was immediately addicted to taking shots. Its tiny, cute, very discreet and is the best colour ever, it comes with an 8mb memory stick (but you can upgrade – I now have a 32mb which allows approx 65 shots of the best quality). The memory sticks are also compatible with other sony products, eg, AIBO, sony projectors, other digital cameras and printers etc. With its 2million pixels it far from rubbish. I sent some bmp files to sony print (you get 20 free prints when you register and after that they are just ... more

Advantages Advantages size, quality & good looks

I purchased my camera prior to leaving NZ and have taken it through America with me with great success. The size advantage showed itself valuable time and time again whilst travelling as it is so compact it is easily carried around your neck so you never miss those quick camera worthy moments whilst trying to dig your ordinary sized camera out of its case!! I also found it was an excellent way of meeting strangers as everyone comments on how cute and small it is! I had also purchased a 128mb memory stick which I found I got around 400 pictures in low resolution on. These are still fantastic ... more
