Point and shoot the Sony way! Review with images

AdvantagesGreat features, good image quality and all at a great price.

DisadvantagesOnly a couple (see review)!

"...wrote was on the fantastic Sony A700 DSLR and at the time I mentioned that Sony are still very new in the DSLR market, they are however very well established in the point and shoot market and the camera I am reviewing today (the Cyber-shot DSC-W220) is the latest in their fabulous Cyber-shot W range. It comes in the usual range of colours (silver, black, blue and red, with a pink version no doubt on the way soon). It was only released in March ..." Read review

Sony Cybershot DSC-W200

AdvantagesHigh Pixel Count, Sharp Images, Face Detection, Image Stabilization, Stylish, Manual Setting

DisadvantagesCost, High Compression

"...and lately testing of the Sony Cybershot DSC-W200. The all metal body is very light, well balanced and stylish and only available in silver colour. One thing that I immediately noticed upon comparison with the P200 is that there's no dedicated area to rest your thumb, which I thought would pose a problem, but the slightly indented mode dial fulfills this purpose without incident. The buttons are a bit small, but manageable and well laid out. The ..." Read review

Reliable camera for general snaps Review with images

AdvantagesReliable, small, light, easy to use, quality pictures, lots of modes

DisadvantagesNo underwater mode

"...December 2009, as my previous Sony Cybershot which was an earlier model had finally given up after four or five years of heavy use. I had been very happy with the earlier model, so when I went to Currys at Heathrow to replace it, getting the newer Sony Cybershot model was a no brainer for me. The DSC-W220 has 12.1 megapixels resolution which means it can take very good quality pictures, though this means that the file sizes are extremely big and ..." Read review

A good middle range compact from Sony

Advantagesgood auto white balance, quality results

Disadvantagessmile shutter a bit odd (see review), cannot manually adjust ISO

"Sony are a well known brand who manufacture a wide range of electrical goods, but are their camera's as good as the other things they make? One would think they must be half decent as they make several models of compacts and have even branched out into the world of SLR's. Here I am reviewing the W220 which is a compact model. Specifications: - 12mp - 2.5" LCD - 4x optical zoom - litium ion battery - SD compatability - Carl Zeiss lens (a very well ..." Read review

Quick review of Sony Cybershot DSC-W200

"I purchased this camera in June. It is absolutely brilliant. I have used it mostly on auto, the photos are extremely clear, no blur, a little bit red eye but this is easliy amended. The quality of the photos at 12.1 mega pixel is unbelievable. If you play back through your TV there is quite a few options which is great. The video and sound is also excellent quality. It is easy to download photos onto PC. I would certainly recommend this for a novice as is is very easy to use. AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

very good sony camera

Advantagesit's small, quite lightweight, stylish, got lots of features and options

Disadvantageshavn't been using it long enough to find any disadvantages yet.

"Very good camera by Sony it's got 12.1 megapixels so it takes very high quality pictures and all the options and features available ensure you get great pictures. The price range for the camera is £157 - 220, i got mine from BestPricedBrands.com for just £157 which was the cheapest price i could find. Compared to the last camera i had which only had 5 megapixels it takes much better pictures. It's a good size and quite lightweight. It uses the Memory ..." Read review

Sony Cybershot DSC-W200

Advantagesstylish, compact, pretty sharp, , excellent video quality, in camera retouch, nice features

DisadvantagesExpensive, ISO problem, can be fiddly if you want a perfect image in certain conditions

"...stylish, like most of the sony cameras. An extra suprise was that if i kept it at 8mp there is a smart zoom mode which means you can actually crop the image, in the camera! Every image a took was blur free and the face detection is a lot more useful than expected. The video quality is exceptional at 720p, better than most other camera's. Overall it's quite a good camera but probably not worth the amount of money you pay. The ISO may also be ..." Read review

"I'm still thinking if I should buy it right now or wait for another month or two for the new series to come out. Any one?

point and shoot

AdvantagesLooks great and takes bright colourful picks.

Disadvantagesnone i can think of

"I have had my W220 for 2 months now and i just can not fault it. It's light stylish and does everything i want in a compact camera, i have not seen any of it's rivals but as i'm not an enthustiastic photographer i do not think i would notice which was the better photo taker, i chose it because it looked the best and had the features i was looking for in it's price range(£130). Not a technical review i know but if your reading this you all ready know ..." Read review

AdvantagesGreat picture quality & a sleek, lightweight design

DisadvantagesFiddly buttons

"I bought this camera after becoming slightly dis-illusioned with my 5 mp Sony. The design, weight and feel are all fantastic, as is the picture quality. The only problem that I have found is navigating around the menus with the small buttons, but if you can see through that it is definately worth the investment. I bought mine from Amazon for a slightly higher price than it is available for now, but I did get a great offer on a memory card. I do ..." Read review
