The Sony DAV-SA30 can pretty much play any disc that you throw at it, apart from SVCD. Recordable and Re-Writable discs play with no problem whatsoever. The choice of Dolby Digital and DTS are included too.

Advantages: Combination of features - plays everything Disadvantages: not a lot really
I bought this machine as previously I was playing DVD's through my Xbox. I didnt think the DVD quality would improve on the TV, but i thought the sound I could improve using surround sound, and this package came out to be great value and combined all the features i needed.

Advantages: The design Disadvantages: DVDs getting stuck in slot
...and design attracted me to Sony and the DAV-SA30.
All connections are colour coded and allow for easy set up and use. The picture and sound quality are superb, what did I expect from moving up from video!
