Sony Dual Shock 3 PS3 Controller

Advantages: Battery Life, Sturdy, Nice Size
Disadvantages: Price, Slippy Analogue Sticks

...? ~~~ === The Sony Dual Shock 3 controller is the official controller of the Sony PS3. Communicating with the console via wireless, this is definitely the number one controller on the market. Used to control games, DVD's and also as a place to plug pocket sized extensions into, such as a keyboard. === ~~~ Size + Weight ~~~ === For someone who, I would say has medium sized hands, this controller fits perfectly. The analogue sticks are at the perfect ...
...reachable. The Dual Shock 2 is quite a bit heavier than the Sixaxis version, because of the rumble function. This is a bonus for me, because the Sixaxis controllers were slightly light. The extra weight makes the controllers seem more sturdy and reliable. === ~~~ Buttons ~~~ === I've had my controller for around six months now and everything is working the way it originally was. The buttons and the analogue sticks work smoothly without sticking ...

alot more excitement when playing games

Advantages: rumble effect, sixaxis motion sensor, usb cable supplied
Disadvantages: only a few games support vibration

when i first got my PS3 it came with the original sixaxis controller, now i believe when you buy a PS3 now the dualshock 3 comes as standard. The dualshock 3 now has a different style of material, it is more comfortable and makes your hands not feel as if you have coated them in butter. The R2 and L2 buttons have also been changed, i have noticed that they have bigger "grooves" which i think is a help to FPS (first person shooter) games. these controllers ...
...this as the controller actually sits firm in the hand. the analogue sticks are much more sensitive and seem more reliable than the sixaxis' ones, my original sixaxis controllers analogue sticks started to become stiff and squeaky after a few months. so far the dualshock 3 is keeping well. alot of people on the internet have stated that the dualshock 3 controller does not include the sixaxis feature, just to let you know IT DOES. the controller seems ...

Dualshock 3 Controller Review

Advantages: good handheld device, shape, connection and tilt sensor.
Disadvantages: Battery life is not too great

...is the best controller that Sony could have stuck with and in actual fact they changed the PS3 controllers after a couple of months so that they were these wireless controllers. The buttons are in good places and the controller is neither too big or too small. The shape of the controller allows easy access to the R1, R2, L1 and L2 buttons on the top of the controller. The shape will also accomodate if you want two fingers on the top instead of just ...
...easy way to play many of the games that just would not be possible with the original directional buttons. Overall i would say that if you have a PS3 do not buy cheap knock-offs, get the real thing! The tilt sensor makes gameplay fun and even more interesting! ...

DualShock 3: Sixaxis with rumble.

Advantages: Good weight and strong rumble.
Disadvantages: A bit expensive.

The DualShock 3 is the wireless controller that comes bundled with every new PS3. If you bought you PlayStation in 2007 or 2008 then you will probably have Sixaxis (which is no longer manufactured.) The only difference is that the DualShock includes a rumble feature and the Sixaxis doesn't. The Dualshock is obviously heavier because of this but that makes it feel more robust. There is a built in rechargeable battery but you will need a USB cable ...
...it. This cable isn't very long so not convenient for playing whilst charging but any USB cable with a Mini-B connecter will work (these come included with most Nokia handsets and other mobile phones as well as many PC accessories.) Almost all new PS3 games support rumble functionality and most older games can be updated to support it as well. If you need an extra PS3 controller, you should go for the DualShock 3 although it is a little expensive. ...
