Diamond review   Cool Vibrations
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by 3rdRockSatan

Advantages: Professional | Nice looking
Disadvantages: Minor flaws

...I decided to buy the Sony CMD-Z5 over the Nokia 8210. I knew that quality wouldn’t be a problem because Sony has a long-standing reputation of near perfect quality technological products. It certainly looks the part. It looks a lot more mature (if a phone can) than the Nokia phones out there. It has a sleek silver-coated cover, which is non-removable so you cant swap covers like you can with the Nokia’s. It is also very small, no bigger ... Read review

Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by Yozza

Advantages: See all of the above!
Disadvantages: message memory isn't huge

...Battery Life * Roller Navigation (Only sony could think of that on a phone) * I have dropped it, sat on it etc etc and it is still in very good condition * 20 second memo voice recorder (I have a message from fergie the DJ on mine) * calc * history * amazingly cool international clock - looks like a sattelite system * schedule - not really enough functionality * compose a tone * wap - good size screen for this * Clay Pigeon Shooting Game * ... The simply amazing Z5
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by tyasda

Advantages: Stylish, unique features, easy to use jog-dial functionality, in-built answerphone, WAP and POP e-mail access
Disadvantages: No Infra-red capability to link to a PDA or PC.

...by a new product. The Sony Z5 didn't surprise me. It simply lived up to my high expectations. It is one unique, powerful little phone. Initially you are drawn in by the sheer style of the handset - it's the sort of phone you want to put on the table in front of you when you go down the pub. But underneath the polished chrome exterior lies probably the most user friendly interface Ive come across. The jog dial is a revelation allowing you to access ... Read review

A classy phone
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by chocoholic

Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op

My friend has the Sony CMD-Z5 -a sleek well designed phone and I couldn't wait to check it out. I swapped with him for a week as an experiment. I like Nokia phones they're reliable and look good. However I want something different to everyone, hate to follow the crowd you know... The Sony CMD-Z5 is the most well thought out, feature packed phones I've ever used. It is compact, with a flip design covering the keys and half of the screen. The ... Read review

Living with the Sony CMD-Z5
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by steveyh

Advantages: Lots of features, easy to use, looks great
Disadvantages: Poor instructions for WAP and e-mail

I have had my Sony CMD-Z5 for about a month or so now, and I love it! The sleek design and anti-scratch, anti-mark silver finish make it an eye catching accessory, as well as a powerful communications device. I'd had my eye on the Z5 for a while and decided to upgrade on my existing One2One tariff. If you are thinking of upgrading, it's well worth having an open chat with someone from your existing network's customer service team. Competition in ... Read review

Why does everyone love this phone, I wonder
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by ponty

Advantages: Tiny, beautiful
Disadvantages: Everything else

...the time of writing, the Sony Z5 is listed as being the top rated mobile phone here at Ciao. I've recently sent mine back, very disappointed, wondering how anyone can bear to use it. Let me explain. For the first half an hour or so of usage, I was thinking 'this is the best mobile phone ever made!', I was taken in by the size of the thing, the lovely silver coating, the beautiful greyscale screen, and the intuitive navigation that the advanced ... Another Sony masterpiece
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by Guzman

Advantages: Smart looking and light, seems to have a good construction
Disadvantages: Please see text

...decided to plump for the Sony CMD-Z5 at £49.99 with the Vodafone Leisure 200 tariff (14.99 amonth with 200 off peak minutes free). What I didn’t realise was though just how impressed I was going to be with this tiny little powerhouse. Weighing in at about 84 grams this phone has plenty of features to enjoy. The actual phone is only the size of a credit card and has a good strong hinge for the flip cover. This cover serves an additional ... Read review

Nokia are finaly beaten by Sony solution
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by fairypancakes

Advantages: Small,Stylish,v. easy to use, good range of features
Disadvantages: The Aerial, The Cost, a bit too small

...makes them so successful? Well Sony seem to of discovered just that. And provide a solution to tackle the Nokia mobiles. It's known as the CMD-Z5, Sony's latest run off of the product line. To start with, it's a very small phone, lightweight, and easy to hold. It is around 90mm in size and it weighs in at only 82 grams . Compared to some of Nokia's latest additions this is very good. The stylish 3310 is of a few millimeters more in size but weighs ... Read review

The Best comes in Small Packages
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by PaulCatterall

Advantages: Sexy looking, affordable on contract, easy to use
Disadvantages: Poor ringtones, easy to lose!

...size, and the reputation of Sony as a quality manufacturer of electronic goods. Initially, the phone took some getting used to, as the explanation for the use of the jog dial was somewhat insufficient. The on-screen reminders of where to find different features was also confusing, as the animation for pressing the jog dial back was almost indistinguishable from the instruction to simply press the jog dial in. With that minor problem rectified, ... Read review

Why are Sony so good - CMD-Z5
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by mmuk

Advantages: Cool design, still quite original
Disadvantages: see opinion

...to the Nokia 8210. The Sony CMD-Z5 is the best designed and cool looking phones...ever. It is about the same size as a credit card, although it won't quite fit into your wallet! So apart from the fact that it looks cool it is packed with many features: vibration, a clock, calendar, voice memos, T9 predictive text input, 2 games (fishing and clay pigeon shooting), a stylish charger, Microsoft Mobile Explorer, a 6 line display, 3 and a half hours ... I now have the Handy almost a year and am rather satisfied except for odds and ends. B) size and appearance: ******************** of 82,5 g with an emphasis and a size of 88x49x21,5mm (with closed lid) the Handy now and then lies very well in the hand and fits - there same size and a EUROCHEQUE ... The coolest and sexiest small phone - Sony CMD-Z5
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by crowbar2000

Advantages: The best 'small' phone around
Disadvantages: Tricky to use at first, but only because of all its features

The Sony CMD-Z5 is the most well designed, well thought out, feature packed phones I've ever used or even seen. It is literally credit card sized, with a nice neat flip design covering the keys and half of the screen. The flip is active, so it starts and ends calls when you open it. The phone weighs in at about 90 grams. On first look, the sleek silver design looks lovely and the only concern is that the screen is too small. This is not true - ... Read review

Its small yet fun
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by robertliu84

Advantages: Small, light, jog dial...
Disadvantages: Cost?

...compared to that of the Sony Z1, which was also nice. The phone has pretty much what you would expect plus MORE...such as vibrater alert, several tunes, and the ability to compose your own, which I find very useful!!! The games are also original for mobile phones, as far as I can see. This phone also features WAP, which can be useful if you're out and about, and a footy match is on, as you can check current scores live! One game is a shooting ... Read review

Advantages: Small but with ample size buttons and display
Disadvantages: Jog dial is a bit of a chore if you have large fingers

...cannot go wrong with the Sony Z5, and once you get used to it, you will never want to retire it, as it is also great for a discrete pocket phone for when you are going out, as it is light to boot. ****************************************************** Please note, the above is an opinion based on my interaction with the product. Nice Little Phone
Review of Sony Ericsson CMD-Z5 by Bonetony

Advantages: small, good battery performance
Disadvantages: can be hard to use

... Like the Nokia 6210 the Sony also has a massive phone book which makes it possilble to store up to 500 numbers again like the Nokia 6210 you cans tore multiple numbers for each name. This means you no longer have to store John home John Mobile all separate and the wade through them all when trying to find someone else. Another feature is that the Z5 is the first phone to include Microsoft Mobile explorer, a dual WAP/HTML browser. This means that ... Read review
