Advantages: Many Capabilites (with alternative software) Disadvantages: Slow, incompatible with a lot, outdated software
...most recent software on the Sony Ericsson site are both outdated and at the moment do not support Windows XP Service Pack 2. This seems to be a problem, and I cannot find a fix for this at the moment.
There are 3rd parties providing better software though, that is compatible with the cable provided the correct drivers are installed. These do not require the Sony Ericsson synchronization software. The best software for the phone I have found are ... ...more features than the official Sony Ericsson software bundled with the cable and provide a lot more features.
The cable itself is quite slow, and offers a limited data transfer rate. Most compatible phones are at 9600 baud; however some phones have a higher rate.
I would recommend this cable, but I can see many more people having problems with the software unless Sony Ericsson fixes it up! I spent days trying to find alternative software! ...

Advantages: Can easily transfer files or other items between phones and pc. Disadvantages: Just made up to suit some mobile phones that is not too convenient.
