Advantages: Good value for money for the range you get. Disadvantages: Small memory limits some features.
...and even at low prices, Sony does not compromise on quality.
Before we start, I'm not sure whether this makes any difference but my phone is from and on Virgin Media.
''' The design.''' _Sleek and functional_
This phone is an obvious candy bar and is a good size for slipping into your pocket. The 40mm x 93mm x 15mmm design makes it feel and sit nice in your hand, and the edges are curved so it's not such a block of cuboid like other Sony Ericssons
... ...As with most Sony Ericssons, the phone has a little joysitck in the middle to navigate the menus by either flicking it up, down left or right or pressing it down to select . Sometimes simple features on technology are the best and I find the joystick is once of those times. It takes away all the infuriating difficulty of finding which part of the arrow key to press on other phones. However I have heard the joystick does eventually break and this ...

Advantages: Good phone, decent enough camera, easy connectivity with PC, lots of features Disadvantages: No headphone socket for the mp3 player, many features drain battery very fast
I have had a mobile phone since 1996 but only because I was living in places where I was unable to have a landline installed. I got a good contract in 1997 and am still on the same contract 10 years later because it is so cheap (an old One-2-One tariff that T-Mobile would love me to ditch)! But beyond the wondrous convenience of cheap mobile digital telephony I have never been terribly bothered about all the extra stuff that they keep packing into ... ...up in their phones and spend ages on their phones just talking about their phones. (As Marshal McCluhan said: the medium is the message... never more true.) And every year I get sent a new phone free of charge on my contract and every year I am less and less bothered. The K510i was still in its box 3 months after I received it because I just couldn't be bothered opening it. But I was very surprised when I finally did!
The first thing I liked about ...

...a lot neater than most Sony Ericsson models I have seen. The camera is very good when set to high quality (although you can't store many pictures). At 1.3 Mega Pixels it might sound quite low, but I have never had a problem with the quality of photos. Battery power is always reliable, I usually find that one charge for 2/3 hours is enough to keep you going for 2 or 3 days. The keys are of a good size, not too fiddly - perfect for bigger fingers. ... ...is much simpler than having four arrow keys to jump between. The only thing I can say would make a big improvement would be space for a memory card, because there is no slot and the phone only holds 28mb of music/photos/videos. The phone is VERY durable. I am one of the most clumsy people you could ever meet...this phone has been through A LOT and always comes out just fine. I've dropped it down the stairs, on pavements, spilt milk on it, and even ...

...of the most basic of Sony Ericcsons "K" range phones, yet i prefer this one completely. OK so it doesn't have a fancy camera or fm radio, but if its just a sexy lil phone you're after, this is for you!

Hey if ya want a digital camera, get one eh? But seriously, the camera isnt ... ...do them - perfect for Sony Ericsson novices such as myself. ...take a look at the Sony Ericsson K510i, and I was immediately attracted to it.
The asking price here was GBP90 and it really does offer excellent value for money. The K510i seems to have it all: good sound quality, user-friendly menus, a very clear screen, 1.3MP camera, MMS, Bluetooth, USB, Infrared. I could go on and on, but I will just touch on a few points.
First and foremost, I'm a basic phone user. I use my mobile mainly for making and receiving ... ...DCU-60 phone to USB cable, Sony Ericsson PC Suite on a CD-ROM and a hands-free headset.
The phone weighs only 82 grams, and feels good to hold. It has a solid feel to it, and the midnight black finish adds a touch of class. The joystick navigation control takes some getting used to, but I was up and running in a little while (even though I have big fingers). I do understand that some users might find this method to be a little more cumbersome than ...

...of the K510i made by Sony Ericsson.
What first attracted me to the K510i was it's nice styling and relatively low price for a phone of it's kind and it being made by Sony Ericcson, one of the best mobile phone makes with a string of highly regarded phones and add ons in the past two or three years.
Like most mobiles nowadays this one has a built in camera which you can take pictures and you can store about 50-60 photos on your phone. It isnt as ... ...good job and you are able to get good quality photos from it. The great thing about these camera phones is that they now have software which lets you upload them to your pc.
Using the built in camera you can also record videos, for instance if you were at the local football ground you could record the play or if you were with your friends you could record each other doing comedy sketches for instance. the quality isnt as good as the pictures you ...

Advantages: Easy to use, Excellent presentation, Above average camera Disadvantages: No memory card slot or headphone jack, Somewhat quiet message alert
I recently bought the Sony Ericsson K510i after quite some thought and product comparison. I was looking for a fairly compact, non-clamshell phone with at least a 1 megapixel camera for around £80, and I decided that this best suited my needs, and it does what it is meant to do very well. What is this phone good at?
I could go into a lot of unnecessary detail here, but here are the things what I see as the most important:

(I would suggest the Sony Ericsson K750i if you are looking for a better camera or the Siemens BenQ E61 for a dedicated MP3 player, both of which are in a similar price bracket.) It does play MP3s but the built in 27mB of memory will only take 5 songs at the maximum. If you are looking for an above average camera resolution of 1.3 megapixels (compared with the standard VGA 0.3 megapixels), combined with bluetooth, a user friendly interface ...

Advantages: Nice size, light, compact for a candybar style phone MP3 nice added bonus Disadvantages: quickshare nothing special, Camera slightly shaky in certain lights
I think Sony Erricsson should have worked all the bugs out of this one before putting it on the market! Here is a break down of parts of the machine:
Screen: Nice, sharp picture quality, when a photo is taken or a picture transferred well, it looks amazing, however, being a candybar phone having this phone in your pocket with keys is a nice way to say bye bye to the screen as it will scratch it something horrible! Could be a little bigger though...
... ...they appear a little larger. Sony Erricsson have always made their video captures tiny and I can never understand why!!!
Quickshare: Nothing special, anyway I never used it I dont see the point, as long as you have an MMS enabled phone then there isnt much difference.
Reception: You can recieve the best reception with a candybar style phone (over other styles such as clamshell and slide). This proves it. Recieving reception on the London Underground ...

Advantages: All the features an avarage user could possibly want, Bluetooth, MP3 Player, Camera, Java... Disadvantages: Software update utility temporaraly stoped camera from working, Joystick now stopped working - not overly reliable.
I got the Sony Ericsson K510i for my birthday after having quite a cheep and nasty alcatel phone. I've never been one to be obsessed with phones, and would never spend an awful lot on a phone that has lots of features I really don't want. All I want is Bluetooth, MP3 player, Java and a Camera, which are pretty common by today's standards.

The second problem I have encountered is the reason I'm looking ...

I've had this phone for about a year now, and whilst I haven't been completely impressed by it, it has certainly done the job so far. It is very durable - I think I have dropped it about 3 times and had to put it all back together again and it still works - and so easy to use. i have had this phone for a little over a month now and glad i upgraded to it. my old phone was just a basic one with no added extras yet it was one of the most reliable phones i have ever had, until i sent it through the wash that is, because of that unfortunate mishap i brought this one as a replacement, i rarely use many of the added features but have tried each of them out thoroughly, each and every one of the features is easy to set up and use ... ...i can think of with this is that each feature uses a different amount of battery power and the battery doesn't have the lifespan to stand any extended useage of certain features for more then a couple of hours, for instance if i used the integrated camera continuously for half an hour my battery would be on 25% even from 100% just off charge battery life.
