Advantages Advantages Fantastic Camera, and Running system..

Disadvantages Disadvantages The lack of applications!

Since I have had my little Satio for nine months now, I feel I have had it long enough to be able to give it a detailed review from my long experience of it, and trust me it has had it's moments. Especially disappointing after I had waited long enough to get it. The first time I saw this phone was around eighteen months to two years ago - back when it was called the Idou, it was featured in a show, showcasing some of the best new mobile phones in Germany. By this point I was halfway through my contract, and I knew by the time I was able to renew - this phone would be out. So my sights were ... more

2 Stars Sony Ericsson Satio Review with images 30/04/2012

Advantages Advantages Very good photo camera.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited apps, no updates, low quality video capture, phone often needs restarting to make calls.

I got the Sony Ericsson Satio in early winter 2009; it has a 12 megapixel camera, which is probably the only useful feature of this phone. Even that feature is limited to the photo camera, and doesn't extend to the video camera. The Sony Ericsson Satio is a Symbian phone; this means it has a very limited application support. Therefore, it's extremely difficult to find a decent set of applications for this phone. The operating system version is S60v5, so I tried many applications that are supposed to support this operating system version, out of which only a handful of applications worked. In ... more

Advantages Advantages loads of differnt applications and fantastic quality pictures and videos

    Disadvantages Disadvantages poor battery life

Never did I think I would see the day when a mobile phone could have as many mega-pixals as my digital camera, so naturally as soon as the opportunity to have one cam about I jumped at the opportunity! I bought the phone on contract from phones4u. I took out a 2 year deal with O2 costing £25 a month with 600 minutes and unlimited texts (just about enough) because of this deal it meant the phone was a freebie- even better!!!! It took about a week for the phone to come and I was over joyed to see it. quickly opening the outer container I saw a brightly colour box almost like a christmas present ... more

Advantages Advantages Large Touchscreen, Excellent Camera, Great connectivity.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor battery life, Not easy to customise.

I've been waiting for this phone to hit the shelves since I read a preview of the then titled Idou from Sony Ericsson. Promise of 12 megapixel smartphone goodness built on the Symbian operating system really caught my attention and it quickly became the logical choice for me as it's release came shortly after my contact was due for Upgrade. So here we are, i've had the phone for a week now, and here are my experiences with the Sony Ericsson flagship phone, the Satio. Straight away my first impressions are drawn to the large 3.5" widescreen touchscreen display which merges seamlesly into the ... more

Advantages Advantages AMAZING camera, good features, attractive, durable.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life can be short with some functions, no facebook app, does not vibrate on charge.

In my opinion, although there is room for improvement this phone is ALMOST perfect. It does so much, and certainly gives the iphone a run for it's money.. Firstly, let me point out what is undoubtedly the main selling point of the phone; the camera. 12mps! It's INCREDIBLE. I've never seen quality like it on a phone camera. It has an LED light for video recording, and a Xenon flash for photos - both of which (particularly the Xenon) are brilliant gadgets, significantly improving the quality of the photos in dimmer conditions. There are however, three faults I would give to the camera. 1: when ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing camera, lovely screen

Disadvantages Disadvantages Early handsets need a software update to avoid bugs

I was delighted when this phone finally hit the shops and it came on a good contract - so a brilliant start! The camera really is fabulous. I really wanted a digital camera that also makes phone calls and sends text messages and this is about as close as you can get. The flash is a handy Xenon and the (quality) lens is protected by the slide cover that hasn't opened by accident in my pocket yet as some other phones do. The photos it takes are amazing and deserve a separate review. The screen is lovely and this forgives the size of the phone. Viewing photos and videos is great. The touchscreen ... more

Advantages Advantages the amazing camera, quality, features, applications, music, look and style.

Disadvantages Disadvantages the battery isnt too strong and it has a freezing problem.

When my contract was up I heard about the Satio... 'coming soon'... Well, Im a sony fan! so naturally I was intrigued. I read the reviews on what to expect: Full touch screen - like many nokia's Symbian technology - like many nokia's 12.1 mega-pixel camera - ooh, thats new!! Applications - like the iphone Basically you get 3 phones in 1 here. I was so excited. So I waited. After a while, more new phoned would come out. and I would turn that way. the release date on the satio would change constantly. the girl in the shop had no idea. i was getting so impatient, I almost went with a different ... more

Advantages Advantages ridiculously good camera quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need big pockets to keep it in

Having never used a touchscreen phone before i was a bit apprehensive to get the Satio as most of my communication is usually by text but the lure of a 12 megapixel camera phone was too hard to refuse. 2 days later my new Satio 12 megapixel touchscreen beast of a mobile phone arrived and i havent put it down since. First of all it is big but all the functions and features that come with it justify walkin around with a brick in your hand. The screen size is impressive and watching films on its 3.5" screen is a pleasure. The texting has been a lot easier than first thought, the phone come with a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Camera quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life and speed or proccessing

If you are looking for a short quick review of this phone, my opinion is that it is a waste of money, with the only good thing about it being the 12 MP camera. Now for the longer explained review; Having had this phone for about a month now, i have had a fair time to try this phone out. My experiences have been that this phone is very slow and freezes an aweful lot. I have been extra careful with this phone, it was brand new when i got it, i have never dropped it and there is no water damage to the phone , therefor the slowness and unreliability of the phone cannot be blamed for this. Another ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing camera, great looking phone

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery not so good, slightly bulky but i dont mind that, uses Nokia software

Personally I love this phone. its the first smart phone to have a 12.1MP camera, it takes wonderfull photos and it comes with a 8GB Micro SD card to store photos, music, video and small applications for the phone. The touchscreen is nice and responceive, the phone is easy to use and personally I think its a great phone. The sat-nav is great, the GPS is pretty much excat, the video calling camera is really good quality and I like the fact the phone comes with cables to connect it to your TV the only two things that sort of lets it down is firstly the battery. It does have to be charged every ... more
