Review Of The Sony Ericsson T290i
I have read many reviews of the Sony Ericsson T290i online and decided to give my say on this very controversial mobile phone. This entry level mobile phone will suit the user who wants a mobile phone to do what it is supposed to do: make phone calls and, if you wish send SMS messages. Forget about camera, mp3 player and wireless connectivity it simply isn't available on this model. If you just want a phone ... ...functionality of an onboard camera, Sony Ericsson provide the customer with the option to purchase a camera as an add on from their website.
The most important aspect of a mobile phone is obviously to make phone calls. The Sony Ericsson has an internal antenna and has a good to excellent reception on the Orange network. While travelling amongst the Scottish highlands today, in most parts I had a high reception, except when between some hillsides ...

Sony Ericsson T290
Let’s get started. The measurements for this are (nearest mm) 102x44x19 and the weight is a light 79grams. This shouldn’t bother phone critics who feel that everything is either too heavy or bulky. It is a fairly old design kind of phone and is very low end. I would say that users who don’t want a camera etc and who aren’t technologically very good, would find this useful. The keypad is fairly fiddly to use, especially the OK ... ...it. It takes round about 1hr 30mins to charge this phone and it does last about a day. This isn’t a great battery though it is good for a low use sort of phone.
The menu has 9 icons. The phone book can store 250 numbers each of which can store three numbers and an email address. In messages you can receive and send picture and text messages. The call list stores 10 missed calls and 20 overall.
The settings are traditionally like all phones, which ...

Advantages: Loud Speaker phone, very good battery and very tough Disadvantages: Small keys, no blue tooth and complicated to use
The Sony Ericsson isn't the most stylish phone you can buy but it is very cheap and tough. A new T290i from a high street shop cost only about £10-£20 and it does the same job as a £200 phone would do. Back when I first got the phone I kept dropping the phone on the ground and because it had string on it I also kept swinging the phone round when I was bored and I get accidentally kept letting go and it would go flying across the room. Now I have ... ...tiny little scratch which is only visible when you look closely. Back to the phone itself because I'm a tight-wad I don't bother buying ring-tones I just record them and the quality is quite good. The phone comes with: SMS, Chat, WAP, DeepAbyss (game), V-Rally2 (game), Calendar, Alarm, Timer, Stopwatch, Calculator, Composer and CommuniCam. All in all this phone is a high quality basic phone which is cheap and perfect for a first phone. ...
