Advantages: Small, light, good screen definition, pleasant standard ringtones Disadvantages: Memory limited, camera slow
I was told by my daughter (an expert on phones and their "coolness" factor) that this phone was the Bees Knees. Perhaps it is for teenagers, but for ancient motherly types, its just too much hassle.
I've been spoilt by my previous phone, which had a CAPACIOUS memory for text messages (of which I am an inveterate hoarder). I did manage to get all my address book (some 160 contacts at last count) onto the phone memory with no problem at all, but the ... ...last phone held over 150 messages before it groaned about the amount of space I was using (I am a bit soppy and haved tended to keep romantic texts in the past) Also, I need to keep business-related ones until the appointment and/or arrangements at work are sorted out, which can sometimes be weeks in advance). Also, it saves every single message sent, and my impatience caused me not to be able to find the instruction which switched off the "save ...

Games
I don’t really ever play games on my mobile, I prefer real computer games. But I gather that minigolf is a very good game, as far as games go. And I think you can download more games if you fancy.
Other bits and bobs
Just the last few little things that I like and dislike about this phone.
The screen is very cool, you can set a photo as your screensaver which I love.
... ...your time using it, leaving your charger at home on a weekend away is no big drama if the battery is full to begin with.
On the other hand, I don’t like how easy it is to connect to the internet (and start paying WAP fee’s).
The screen does occasionally freeze for a few seconds; this does irritate, but rest assured, it never freezes for more then 10 seconds.
All round, this is an excellent phone and well worth paying the extra £££s for. If you ...

...there were also leaflets promoting Sony Ericsson! As well as this, there was an exceptionally chunky instruction booklet... which I used purely to find out what buttons to press. I decided that since I didn't fancy a sleepless night of reading the instruction manual I would teach myself what does what.
But to the thing you are reading this review for... the phone. Sitting in a snug little cardboard bed, it gleams slightly as the light hits the shiny ... ...nice and bright, displaying the Sony Ericsson logo. But the best part about turning it on is the sound. A loud, sharp, crystal clear tone sounds out, pounding the puny NEC 338 sound capabilities into the ground. It isn't as loud as the A835 but it is far clearer.
The main screen consists simply of a wallpaper, time, date, and all the usual expected info such as battery life and reception quality. There are no shortcut pictures, asides from the soft ...

...available, I settled for the Sony Ericsson T630.
DESIGN
The phone is white, with grey sides. This gives it a rather classical, "clean" look which I like. I think it somehow reflects on Ericsson's Swedish roots! The buttons are close together and have little bumps on top of them, which makes it easier to dial/text for those with larger fingers. There is a d-pad (directional controller) that goes up, down, left, right, and, "in". There is also a ... ...it would be on a Sony Ericsson. I think the latter is a little more difficult and cumbersome. The space button is the # key instead of the 0 key, which means you have to move your thumb a bit more to press it. Also, when using predictive input and you want to chose another word, you have to scroll down through a list and then select the word you want. This takes a lot more time than Nokia's way of just pressing the star key till you get the word ...

...new mobile phone, it’s a Sony Ericsson T630.
Normally im a Nokia kinda girl, but I thought why not have a change and go for the Sony Ericsson. Im actually glad I did as I love it.
The Appearance of the Phone
My phone looks very stylish its black, all the pictures I see of this phone are the ones you can get in silver. The screen is bigger than the not so up to date phones and of course the screen is in colour.
The keypad buttons are a little ... ...as them too.
My Sony Ericsson came with the instructions and the battery charger plus a CD which have the drivers on for the computer to transfer data from phone to computer. I charge the phone for about 2 hours and that lasts about 3 days but depending on how much ive used it, or how much my boyfriend has gamed on the games. I have a contact so I pay £13.50 a month, and get about 600 free minutes and 50 free text messages. The phone is FREE!

...change to adapt to the Sony Ericsson type of texting. As long as you remember to press the # key instead of 0 like on a Nokia you’ll be ok. I also found a problem when texting that its possible you could press the button too quickly and miss the letter your wanting to place. There is a little display that appears featuring the letters and other options for each key. There is predictive text but I prefer not to use it. Overall texting is good. ...I am a fan of Sony Ericsson phones. Having previously owned a T300 the only thing i could ever think of upgrading to was a new Sony Ericsson. So that's what I did. I liked the build quality of the T300 and i'm not disappointed with the T630 either.
APPEARANCE
To start off with, the phone looks very sleek. In contrast to the T610 which i think looks a bit clunky. At the moment at least is it available in only white or black. The buttons are very ... ...of course there is the Sony Ericsson joystick! It's a love it or hate it feature. And i love it. I think having a joystick is much better than scroll buttons for navigating menus, but i've heard some people say they prefer buttons.
DISPLAY AND USEABILITY
The display is very sharp and bright. It can show 65536 colours like almost all of the latest phones and is 128x160 pixels in size. It is a TFT screen which means visibility in the sunlight is ...

...On changing to the Sony from my nackered Nokia 3510i I was amazed at the look, and general feel of using it. The joy stick oin the middle took a bit of getting use to but all in all, everything was lai dout exactly as i thought it should be - everything brilliantly and easily accesible.
WHY I LOVE THE SONY ERICSSON!
* The silver and black colours on my phone (different from the example pic above) give this phone a great, modern look which is not ... ...WHAT I HATE ABOUT THE SONY ERICSSON!
* The txt memory reaches about a max of 40 txts. When the memory exceeds this, it breaks up old txts and moulds them together. So if like me, you wanted to keep some of the txts sent from loved ones, you have to be very picky about which ones stay, and also keep in check how much space is left. if you dont, the phone will decide for you.

When I lost my phone on holiday I needed a cheap one ASAP. I found this one in The Link for £70. I didn't really have a good look at it just bought it, as I wanted communication there and then.
Proves to have been a good choice! It has a colour screen and integrated camera. I've never had a camera phone before and the quality is good but not the best. I hardly ever use the camera though. When using the camera you can change the size of the pictures ... ...in the dark, add visual effects, name the picture and put a self timer on the camera so you can be in the picture too. It has both Infra red and bluetooth which is a great way to share files with other mobile users for free.
The ringtones are good quality polyphonic and there are plenty of downloads available for a larger selection of tones. The phone also has WAP which is a good source of information and easy to use. Like most phones you can send ...

...about 6 months ago the Sony Ericsson Z200 caught my eye, Its cool clam shell design was very nice, I was very happy with it but it came time for my wife to upgrade her phone. She said she would love the Z200 so I gave her mine and thought it would be a good time to upgrade. My friend has a T610 and I always liked the look of it and decided I would go for that. T630's T630's everywhere I look I see T630's. It sounds like a nightmare but its actually a reality. Arrgh how popular can one phone be!! OK maybe Ive gone a bit overboard but seriously not a phone to buy if you want to be unique. Well at least thats the case for all the towns I visit. Saying that however, the sheer number of T630's around shows what a good phone it is.
The phone itself is one of the most stylish around, it is a good size and weight ... ...all the same features as the T610 with a few extre as well.
The specific specifications are:

When not playing the games I charge the phone every other day, but it lasts three days easily. The reception is a massive improvement from my old Samsung and there arent many places I have none. ...

...up with the ultimate solution Sony Ericsson T630. I was abit weary at first as I'd been so used to using Nokia phones previously but this was ''the best phone to suit my needs''. I'm normally a fan of big phones because i'm always losing them or having them stolen but with the market going the way it is I had no choice but to go for this small slick phone.
To access the features on the phone you need to click down with the joystick, unless you wish ... ...to download them off the sony ericsson website.
My overall impressions with the phone is Sony Ericsson is trying its best to keep up with the market by trying to bring out a multi-task phone that looks stylish and fashionable to have. The downside of doing this is it is forgetting on the main reason why people have phones (for texting and making calls purposes) hence the overall quality has gone down. ...

It's a frustrating business being a potless technophile. While reading 'Stuff' magazine each month, with its glossy pages of shiny new phones, I have to have a washing up bowl on my lap just to catch the drool cascading from my mouth. As a soon-to-be PAYG customer, I shuddered at the thought of having to buy a phone no better than the near useless Siemens S55 I had given up on long ago.
My luck took a turn for the better, however, and I received ... ...and being the magpie that I am, saw this as a perfect time to get a phone that I would not lose my rag with after three months, but with no bills.
After much running around, and gnashing of teeth(my first choice, the Motorola V500 was as rare as the proverbial rocking horse poo) I saw the T630 in Argos and fell in love with it. Its facade looked sleek and cool, and while there was a little too much T-Mobile pink on it for my liking I was prepared ...

I was going to get a T610 for my free upgrade. When I called up they'd just got this one, the later version in, so of course I got this one instead.
I prefer how the T610 looks although the black area was very prone to fingerprint marks. With the T630 there is no spaces between the keys, but its not difficult to press the key you intend.
The screen is very clear and with the contrast on full (which I think is the default when you get it) the black ... ...sunlight does it look faded.
The camera is pretty poor (as are all phone cameras currently). In good natural light the pictures are of a prefecly good quality for viewing on the phone. Otherwise its pretty hit and miss and "nightmode" is little help.
The games are Q*bert and v-rally 2. I adore Q*bert as its exactly the same as my favourite old spectrum game "Pogo". I was very excited by this (but I suspect that won't be universal, heh). V-rally ...

This phone has been on the market for a while now, I no longer use it due to an upgrade. The review is generally favourable, thought there are a few down sides to this phone that I shall elaborate on.
Many see Nokia's as inherently more asthetically pleasing than other mobiles, I'm not exactly sure why, as the T630 design wise is excelent. The screen is quite large compared to many similiar phone's in this market and has excellent resolution, everything ... ...For a phone this size the button's are also a reasonable size, allthough as is inevitable with most mobile phones regardless of make the button's are close together and can be frustrating for someone with big fingers. The menu system is one of the phones strongest features, it is a joy to use. Fast, easy and efficient in allowing you access to all features, there is also the ability to design your own theme's and what not with additional software ...
