Clean out of witty titles today..

Advantages: Great Looks, Affordable and Functional
Disadvantages: Fiddly Texting

One Hundred and twenty two opinions and I have had to resort to a mobile phone review. After a small spell as Category Assistant for Telecommunications last year I never thought I would even read one again, never mind write one. But I have had this little fella for a couple of months now, and feel obliged to write something about it. Now, loyal customer that I am, when my 12 month contract was up with Orange, for the second time, I visited one of ...
...telephone-ownership wise speaking. I have had an abundance of Nokia’s over the years, starting in 1994, with a phone the size of a house brick, and culminating in the Nokia 6210, which was an ok phone, if decidedly boring after a while. Common sense would have made me buy a 6310, as I have a proper car kit and the 6310 would have fitted. But that is so damn boring as a phone too, and so common sense went out of the window in favour of something a ...

This means you can control almost everything on the phone using the one tiny joystick/button. People have said that it looks a bit odd though, and with time it becomes less responsive. It seems that the colour screen is a big drain on the battery- although this is replaced with a screen saver after a few minutes of not using the phone to save battery life. The T68 also has a handy feature in that it always tells you how much talk time and standby time it estimates you have left e.g. mine currently says; Standby time: 253h Talk time: 12h 2m Which is really useful, although it becomes very inaccurate ...

Possibly the perfect mobile phone

Advantages: Amazing features, technical wizardry and fancy gimmicks
Disadvantages: Slow handling of text messages; very, very nickable

The Ericsson T68, Ericsson's flagship mobile phone, provides a veritable feast of features. Available from some shops free on contract, the reasons not to go for this phone have diminished further. About the size of a Nokia 8210 and the same weight, the T68 scores above the Nokia in just about every field. Firstly, it is far sturdier. Ericsson have a knack for making phones that just don't break, and you can try as hard as you like to bend this ...
...off. This is because Ericsson have realised that Xpress-on covers may look cool, but they simply don't make phones resilient. The battery clip is strong, too, and it just won't break. It's even an improvement on previous Ericsson designs. Starting with basic features, the Ericsson performs above par. Earpiece volume can be set from whisperingly quiet to deafeningly loud, call quality is among the best I've experienced, and the display is clear with ...

...are delivered. One idea that Ericsson has is a ‘sent messages’ menu where you can view the text messages that you have typed and who you have sent them too. This is a brilliant idea and one idea that Nokia lacks (to my knowledge). You can store messages that you use often in the ‘templates’ menu. This is ideal, as you don’t have to keep typing out the same message. The phone can accept longer text messages from people and can also send longer text ...

You can also draw your own pictures. This isn’t as hard as it sounds as the phone has a small joystick ...

The Ericsson T68 looks like a cross-between the Nokia 32XX and 33XX series and the 72XX and 72XX series phones with curves! Its light weight, a good size, so you won't have to carry it around in a brown paper bag. Using your T68i ============ Most people have used the GUI (menu system) of the Nokia phones and there's not much out there easier to get to grips with. So you might find it hard to get used to the Ericsson interface at first, typing text ...

Aesthetics and Ergonomics ==================== Dimensions are 100 x 48 x 20mm, it's a little bigger than the 72XX series phones, but you won't complain because there's so many more features - Wow! I thought they were actually a bit small really - a bit of a girl's phone! Style - sleek, sexy, curves, comfortable to hold for hours, you won't have to keep changing hands! ...

Ever so disappointing!

Advantages: Simple and stylish appearence
Disadvantages: Poor reliability

The sony ericsson T68, a mobile consisting of much potential but an all round poor piece of technology. I believe there is alot of percieved technology in this phone allowing it to be useful for the everyday user such as myself, and was maybe why i made the decision to purchase it. However, looking back it is in my eyes a failure. It lacks many of the latest more original features, camera, radio and mp3. It too lacks polyphonic ring tones. Whether ...
...the phone as a whole. Aesthetics This phone certainly has an original shape and smooth design. Contrasting surface textures and buttons and aerialess shape makes it in a nice sized (not too small, not too big) mobile. I have little complaint, as a designer, in the way this phone looks and its appeal. It carries a more masculine look as opposed to the more feminine look of the T68i, with a more subtle and gentle colour scheme. Build quality It ...

Ive had my T68 for 1 year now and havent come across a phone to beat it in terms of features or looks. The T68 Comes as standard with the option to have one picture stored as a background, however if you take the phone to a Nokia Shop or Carphone warehouse they will upgrade the phone within 2 hours to that of a t68i for free!, so it has a much more advanced memory for storing more pictures, sound recordings etc. *Note all new T68s come with T68i ...

Advantages: AMAZING! GUI
Disadvantages: Slightly quick outdating of style.

The T68 was released during November 2001, After comparing to the 8310 on lauch, i had prepared myself for an upgrade to the 8310 when my contract ran out. However, the time came, and i compared them once again.. but this time i really got to use the T68's functions to the extreme. They were astounding! Good phone, but could be better

Advantages: Great looking, small and light
Disadvantages: slow menus, text messaging slow

The T68 is undoubtedly a good looking phone, in fact I think better than the later T68i. It's features are considerable, with both Bluetooth, Infrared, GPRS capability, a good battery life (depending on how you treat it), and a reasonable set of games and the regular organiser/calculator/stopwatch. There are a few downsides though. Primarily the speed of text messaging. Entering the text message seems to take longer as the keys are a little more ...
...the number in your address book is a pain and takes longer than on any other phone. Earpiece volume is good - I have had problems with low volume on previous Sony phones. Style wise, I still think it is one of the best looking phones out there. Some of the new ones are too big because of new in built camera and internet features most of which are quite weak and make the phones huge. Price wise, I got it for £50 on an Orange contract about a year ...

This phone has very good features but now with the upcoming market of phones it struggles to compete. The t68 was one of the first of its kind with bluetooth capability and a COLOUR screen and i must admit i had to have it.With using and playing about with my friends phones i found that they are now are much more advanced, so i would advice anyone on buying a more recent phone. Sometimes due to you out pacing the phone it can sometimes cause the phone to crash. T be or not T be?

Advantages: Good size, can put it anywhere
Disadvantages: Poor colour resolution, very quiet

Finally a colour phone for under £85. Sounds like a good deal. Until you realise "colour" is not what you though it to be. For years i pondered over purchasing a technicolour beauty, should i, shouldn’t i? They'll just get upgraded. But me being my stubborn self, I had to get one, i didn't want to be left out of the newly formed "colour phone crowd!" Feature-wise it has everything you would expect of a mobile. You can ring people (fortunate that) ...
...the middle is innovative but by now it has probably been kicked out of date by some guns a’ blazing brand new model. It has a handy infra-red eye to swap pictures and tones and the bluetooth feature has to make it the first of its kind. Bluejacking is my new favourite sport. For those of you unaware, bluetooth is infra-red, only blue and has the ability to send and receive pretty much anything from up to 10 metres away so it doesn't look like you ...
